Party Time (with Jason and Grey)

The club was absolutely raucous when they entered. Grey hated the place for the most part, but in the back was probably some of the best omninet hook ups on the planet. Amani had already beaten them here an hour ago and was locked away in one of the swanky private holo-booths contacting his family.

Jason knew two things: Vapor-Folk was absolutely terrible and sounded like a bag of squeaky toys being fed through a wood chipper, and that there was at least one shipping agent here who knew something about Haven. The trick was just finding them and getting them to talk.

Grey, on the other hand, beelined for the back rooms where a single high-end omnihook currently sat unattended, and where a digital order menu protruded from that same desk so she wouldn't have to actually talk to anyone.

Take it away!

Jason does his best to look friendly and smile as he enters the club, but he can't help the grimace that briefly crosses his face at the noise. It takes him a moment to realize that it's supposed to be music playing and not a malfunction of the audio system. Doing his best to not look as pained as he feels, he looks around the club for where the shipping agent who he'd earlier found might known about the attacks could be. Figuring it was a safe bet that someone like that would be at the bar, or at least head to the bar often, he heads that way to find a seat and start chatting.

Since I'm trying to talk to someone with information, and possibly other people to get to them, would Charm be an appropriate thing to roll here?

Absolutely, give me a roll!

Grey winces at the sonic punch of...'vapor-folk'. She even takes a minute standing in the coat check downloading the song and adding it to her AR filters. Even that, though, doesn't remove the sound entirely, just takes the edge off.

Going inside, she edges around the dance floor and walks along the bar, aiming for the backrooms. No, not those backrooms, the flashy ones with tables that can see everything, the other ones, behind the dark door tucked between the bathrooms. Spilled beer and mop water. Cold, from the climate control trying to keep the heat of the main room down. She doesn't look at anyone else back there. Gawking is a rookie move.

Sitting down she queues up an order for a local beer and kicks on her internal firewall. This place was supposed to be safe. Trust, but verify. And use protection. Grey pulls a cable from the sleeve of her hoodie and plugs it into the hook, sitting back to throw herself into the local scene and see if she could start building a rep.

Jason spots an older merchant, his clothing soot stained and his expression distant. He's watching the screens, and sniffing fumes from a drug bowl.

Grey logs into the Omninet. She scans through layers of information, and a name comes up: Kiyani Ashbird. Kiyani seems to be a smuggler of some renown, known particularly for smuggling people in and out of the Sanjak blockade.
