Appearance

Hrroo'om is a grippli with deep blue and green skin. As a water-wood kineticist, he is frequently shrouded in a veil of mist and tiny chunks of wood. His bright purple tongue is very long when fully extended.

 

Personality

This froggy is quite laid back. He goes with the flow, one day at a time. However, he is highly protective of his fungus farm and rare fungi in general. Hrroo'om is somewhat of a hermit, but he on his frequent mercantile ventures he is jovial and agreeable.

 

Backstory

Ever since he grew his legs, Hrroo'om, called "Shroom" by most beings, has been fascinated with mushrooms. He moved out as a young adult and founded an underground fungus farm. He grows mostly edible mushrooms, but also... other varieties - Hrroo'om likes all varieties. He does some trading with surface dwellers and other grippli, but the majority of his sales are with kobolds. Hrroo'om spends most of his time alone with his mushrooms, but he does travel and ingratiates himself into the kobold communities to help in his business deals. He does also like the kobolds, especially the Hookclaws. He has had to defend himself several times on his treks through the underground.

 

Hrroo'om was just approached by the local grippli trade guild to investigate the new trove the Hookclaws found - ostensibly to keep an eye on the kobolds, but Hrroo'om only accepted because of the possibility of discovering ancient spores.

@Eagleheart Can I:

1) Reflavor the Timber Sentinel impulse (basically the Protector Tree spell) as mushrooms? This would, unfortunately, have a mechanical difference of being far more likely to survive past the effect's duration.

If the tree is in soil and survives to the end of the spell's duration, it remains as an ordinary, non-magical tree, and continues to grow and thrive. The GM might determine that the tree disappears immediately in certain inhospitable situations.

2) Swap out Deflecting Wave for Ocean's Balm? This is a valid retrain, and I planned to do so once I saw the group had no non-arcane casting (and due to Deflecting Wave seeming to me to be kind of bad at level 1).
