Her nose and teeth are pronounced, and her chin is snug. Her skin is light brown. Her stomach has an obvious bulge, like she is pregnant, and a distinctive scar that runs all the way up to her sternum. She wears shiny metal armor of interlocking scales, a small metal shield, and she carries a large and curved sword in both hands. She seems very taciturn and distant, like she is in shock, or not all there, mentally. “Baby” appears to be an aberration, a warped creature with long, spindly crab legs and the head of a human infant. Lora narrows her eyes and turns toward the sound. She draws her falchion and makes a beckoning motion to her familiar, which retreats by climbing up her leg and perching on her shoulder. She looks to the others, and when she sees that they are all ready, she walks briskly around the corner to confront whatever is making the squelching sound. Pale paint peels like scabs from the walls of this spacious chamber. A bent desk guards the broad hall stretching away to the north behind you, while curtained frames shroud the room’s eastern quarter. The place smells intensely of rubbing alcohol. Right in front of the desk are several large piles of used gauze and bandages, yellowing and covered in dried, crusty blood and other fluids. It appears they were discarded here hastily during the events that caused the disruption and uprising within the Asylum. From these piles you see two large, pus-colored puddles of slime coalesce rapidly and rise up until they stand roughly three feet off the ground. Each has an indistinct shape, but you can tell for certain that they belong to the ooze family. Tumors and boils can be seen swirling beneath their discolored surface, sometimes pushing far enough to distend the viscous exterior with grotesque protrusions of swelling malignity. They both immediately turn and begin advancing on your group. You can be sure that their intentions are not amiable. We are in combat! I agree they are two very different things," Dr. Creed says in response to Jax's very logical and rational observation of the differences between burning and corroding, as it were. The doc relishes in the ratfolk's attention to detail. He steps back and away from the oozing anomalies to give more room to they who will surely set to hacking the things to pieces in short order, choosing not to waste a round of his dwindling supply of shot or precious ordinance on the mindless things, lest they prove more problematic than expected. In spite of Sophia's quick and decisive strike, the first ooze picks up speed and hurls itself into her like a wet battering ram! Following suite, the second ooze slides around its companion, engulfing half of the nearby desk as it attempts to use the piece of furniture as an anchor from which to lash out against Lora. Their smell is horrendous and their surfaces boil with what appear to be infected sores, ready to pop at a moment's notice from the amount of fluid swelling within them. We are in combat!
