Bianca Pohlo
Trainee Wizard

apprentice_wizard_by_matbudimir_dcrqsex-pre.jpg Name: Bianca Pohlo
Race: (Feytouched) Human
Gender: Female
Class: Wizard (Exploiter Wizard)
Age: 17

Party Role: Party brain, arcane casting, buying and selling

Likes: Reading, mathematics, accountancy, natural sciences, magic, spreadsheets, four-point floating averages, Ameiko

Dislikes: Rude people, social interactions, loud dogs, scary stories, scary places, being scared, having to talk to other sentient humanoids

Though her family are originally from Magnimar, Bianca has lived all her life in Sandpoint. Though young she's prodigiously intelligent, taking after her father who is a very quick-minded businessman with a head for numbers and her mother who was also quite a shrewd woman before she passed away five years ago.

Bianca's father's money has paid for an excellent education for the young woman which, combined with her own natural intellect and a strong preference for reading and studying over playing outside or socialising with other children, meant she rapidly learnt almost everything which was put in front of her. Bianca speaks half a dozen languages (even if her accent is a bit off), is a student of history, cosmology, mathematics and engineering, and as a young adult has begun to turn her sharp mind to the study of magic. Even as a novice she has excelled here as well, mastering esoteric concepts which most wizarding students leave until later.

Unfortunately, Bianca's impressive academic record has come at the cost of her social abilities. Bianca has few friends around town, with the most notable exception being Ameiko Kaino who owns the Rusty Dragon Inn. The streetwise Ameiko seems to have taken pity on the socially-awkward young Bianca, and when the inn is not too busy Bianca can sometimes be found there sat in a quiet corner reading or studying.

Personality

Though she finds speaking to people awkward, Bianca can be quite talkative if she gets going and forgets about it, especially if on a topic she's really interested in. Her wealth of knowledge and tireless logic also lets her put across quite a convincing argument, albeit one hampered by the fact that she normally fails to take into account how emotional people can get. Indeed, she's upset more than a few people in the past by expecting them to react rationally and logically to something she's said when it's actually insulting or upsetting.

Consequently, Bianca is a little nervous about starting conversations with strangers, and is never quite sure what to say. As a child she always preferred to talk to adults rather than others her own age; now that she's an adult, she's not sure that she likes to talk to anyone at all.

In the comfort of her own home, Bianca is a little more relaxed, particularly with her father who always knows how to connect with her. The other person who's tried to coax Bianca out of her shell a bit is Ameiko, who seems to be a good listener. However Ameiko is so confident and full of energy that even she makes Bianca feel uncomfortable; despite the fact that she desperately wants to be friends with her, she always finds herself getting nervous and twitchy when the other woman is talking to her.

People

Ronaldo Pohlo: Bianca's father, Pohlo is an intelligent man and a successful merchant. Though often travelling on business and somewhat distant, he cares for his daughter fiercely, especially after his wife passed away.

Marcellina Pohlo: Bianca's mother, now deceased. Her father, an amateur genealogist who can trade his own family history back to the merchant families of Magnimar, claims that Marcellina had fey blood somewhere in her ancestry which may have accounted for her great beauty. Bianca secretly suspects that this is not true, and if it is she certainly hasn't inherited any of the charm or guile she'd have expected from such a heritage.

Ameiko Kaino: The proprietor of the local inn and one-time adventurer, Ameiko is something of a role model for Bianca - albeit one she doubts she can emulate. They're not exactly friends, but Ameiko has always been kind to Bianca and Bianca can't help but admire her.

Koya Mvashti: Bianca doesn't like to talk much, but she's always enjoyed listening to the Varisian cleric tell tales of her journeys, and of the journeys of others before her. Consequently, Koya and Bianca have struck up something of an association, if not quite a friendship, with Bianca perhaps bringing out some of Koya's motherly instincts.

Sandru Vhiski: Sandru is Koya's adoptive son and a bit of a local character. Bianca hardly knows him and she's sure he doesn't even know her name, but she's seen him with Koya and around town. Though he's undoubtedly handsome and genial, Bianca privately finds him overbearing, boisterous, and a bit too full of himself.

As Bianca is my sanctioned holdover from previous incarnations of this game, I totally understand the mechanics that have been left behind from before.

That being said, at your convenience please effect these changes:

  • zero out current XP
  • Merchant Family trait is from RotRL, please update Bianca to use one fo the Jade Regent campaign traits
  • I assume FCB was used on HP?
  • Background Skills is in play, which means Bianca should have 2 +5 (Int mod) +1 (Skilled) +2 (Background) = 10 points.  She's currently short 3
  • Perception is not class skill for wizards
  • Scribe scrolls bonus feat not recorded
  • And please reroll for wealth and adjust equipment as necessary

Sorry for all the trouble, though you understand, it's all in the name of fairness

Yeah, I clocked the change in traits, I just linked to the old sheet and hadn't updated it yet.

I don't do PFS. Do Wizards still get Scribe Scroll? I wasn't sure if they removed all the crafting feats.

Perception comes from Heart of the Fey, though. Looks like the FCB was indeed spent on HP (I put it in the notes).
