"Apathy is the glove in which evil slips its hand."

Flitrix Evenguard (Sheet)
Origin: Dec 19 '16, 2:09pm

Neutral Human (Illuskan) Necromancer 20

Description:
The dark and sinister appearance of Flitrix Evenguard is enough to prevent most people from letting their gaze linger. Those that do, however, see a determined man glowering back at them from the shadows of his cowl; strands of his raven-black hair dangling along his forehead before his steel-grey eyes; eyes that appear to probe everyone around him.

Flitrix is not physically imposing but he carries himself in a manner that shows confidence. His 5' 10" frame and 165-pound build fills out the dark-colored robes he often wears and the daggers and pouches at his belt let one know that he moves about the city with a purpose.

Personality:
Flitrix is a calculating man and he always has a plan for what to do when things go wrong - for they inevitably will. And Flitrix is always calm, no matter what the situation. He never raises his voice or lets his emotions take control of him. He has made that mistake before and the experience has tempered him, like the steel of a forged blade, drowned in cold waters to cool and harden, then sharpened to a deadly purpose.

Show Illuskan

Illuskan is the name usually given to humans who live in the Sword Coast North. They are also known as Northlanders. Illuskans make up the bulk of the population in the following areas: the Sword Coast North, the Trackless Sea, the Dessarin river valley, the Uthgardt tribes.

Show Background

Flitrix Evenguard hails from the fortified city of Yartar, north of the Dessarin Valley. Life in the increasingly crowded crossroads barony has afforded Flitrix access to all manner of people and news from many of the major hubs of the Sword Coast North.

Flitrix was born and raised in a village just outside Yartar and knew a childhood of hard work and prosperity. He learned the art of negotiation from his father, an aspiring guildsman, which he used to gain the attention of a mentor and become educated in the Art. Once confident in his mystic abilities he turned them to profit, hunting the wanted.

Flitrix is involved in a lucrative trade in Yartar that routinely tests his skills and survival instincts. What's more, he isn't alone. He routinely interacts with both the criminal subculture and other bounty hunters, maintaining contacts in both areas to help him succeed.

"One must be cunning and wicked in this world."

Raunaeril (Sheet)
Origin: Aug 21 '18, 10:14pm spacer.png

Neutral Half-Elf Cleric of Mask 6

Description:

Raunaeril's platinum blonde hair is free and wild while being stylish and in vogue; his pasty, ivory complexion belies his non-human lineage and his clothing comes from Waterdeep's most fashionable designers of the week - well maybe last week's. Raunaeril looks the part of the nobles he aspires to be. He walks like them, talks like them, and in many situations is easily confused as one of them. A fine dagger dangles from his belt as does a small, cheap, cloth coin pouch worn in plain sight - as though he's just asking to have it stolen.

However, if one were to look beneath the surface they'd see the half-elf who struggles to keep up appearances. One denied a birthright that he's hell bent on taking back. But this is Waterdeep - people rarely look beneath the surface. What's on the outside is what matters most.

Personality:Raunaeril is a snob who looks down on those who can't appreciate fine art, high fashion, or stylish hair. He thinks it matters to the nobles he aspires to be, so it maters to him. And to that end he always wants to know how things work and what makes people tick. Raunaeril can be as cold as ice, but he's learning how to make people warm up to him.

Show Background

Raunaeril was born the bastard son of a high elf maiden in Waterdeep. She is an impressive and strong woman, but she felt scorned and was bitter. Raunaeril learned at an early age about the life he should have had, for his father came from the privileged class in the City of Splendors. He never knew the man, nor did his father ever learn of him. But his mother's anger cause something to stir within the half-elf.

In his earlier days, Raunaeril was a personage of some significance in Waterdeep's bureaucracy. His talents, rather than the circumstances of his birth, have secured him this position. He traveled in Waterdeep's baroque and sometimes cutthroat conglomeration of guilds, nobles, adventurers, and secret societies. Little by little Raunaeril gathers the information and influence he needs to take his rightful place.

"Never travel faster than your guardian angel can fly."

Mikyl Valo (Sheet)

Origin: Aug 28 '19, 8:54pm

Neutral Good Protector Aasimar Cleric of Ilmater 3

Description:

Pale, pupil-less eyes are often the first indication of Mikyl's bloodline. They peer from beneath the hood that usually conceals his face. His smooth skin of alabaster and silky voice draw curious looks and when the realization dawns on his beholder they are greeted with a radiant smile.

Mikyl often conceals his features beneath a hood. But when the fervor of battle overcomes him he dons his chainmail and shield and wields his mace for the glory of the Broken God, his shield emblazoned with the emblem of Ilmater - pale hands bound by a red cord.

Personality:

There's nothing Mikyl likes more than a good mystery. Life as a cloistered scholar has exposed him to many dusty tomes that left few lingering questions. But what is more thrilling is the chase these authors went on to make their discoveries.

Mikyl is willing to listen to every side of an argument before he makes his own judgment. His cloistered life has tempered him and taught him to carefully weigh the facts before committing to a decision.

Show Aasimar

Aasimar bear within their souls the light of the heavens. They are descended from humans with a touch of the power of Mount Celestia, the divine realm of many lawful good deities. Aasimar are born to serve as champions of the gods, their births hailed as blessed events. They are a people of otherworldly visages, with luminous features that reveal their celestial heritage.

Protector aasimar are charged by the powers of good to guard the weak, to strike at evil wherever it arises, and to stand vigilant against the darkness. From a young age, a protector aasimar receives advice and directives that urge to stand against evil.

Show Background

Mikyl's celestial bloodline had been dormant in the Valos family for generations but when it expressed itself in him his family knew that Seraphina was still watching over them. Mikyl's parents knew he was destined for greatness so they did their best to make sure he was ready to embrace it. At an early age he was sent to the clergy of Ilmater. They too knew how special Mikyl would be and educated him.

Mikyl soon came to understand his blessed heritage and he embraced his duty. Seraphina, his angelic guide, spoke to him often in his dreams, revealing the plans it had for Mikyl. Mikyl absorbed the teachings of Ilmater and learned his martial craft. By the time he had left the chapel in which he was raised he was wide-eyed, but ready to fulfill his destiny.

Unbeknownst to the scholars who educated him, Mikyl's quest began the day he left. For he took with him an ancient text that holds terrible secrets that must not fall into the wrong hands. It never leaves his possession and he rarely, if ever, speaks of it.

"An idea has no weight, but it can move mountains."

Mei Long (Sheet)
Origin: Dec 21 '16, 11:32am

Lawful Good Human (Shou) Way of the Four Elements Monk 6

Description:
Dressed in plain robes and carrying a walking stick, Long has all the appearances of a humble man from a simple upbringing. His smiling face warms hearts and brightens dark dens. His soft-spoken words offer hope and sooth sorrows. But Long's shorn head and long black braid mark him as something more than a simple wanderer. His bronze skin and eyes of jade belie his distant origins.

Personality:
Long is a devout follower of Oghma and idolizes former Grand Patriarch Cullen Kordamant. He frequently refers to Cullen's deeds and examples as a guide on how to live and behave. He quotes Oghma's sacred texts and proverbs in almost every situation, seeing them as guiding principles to be heeded by all.

Show Shou

The Shou are the most numerous and powerful ethnic group in Kara-Tur, far to the east of Faerun. They are yellowish-bronze in hue, with black hair and dark eyes. Shou surnames are usually presented before the given name.

Show Background

Mei Long was born to humble farmers in far away Kara-Tur from the empire of Shou Lung. They lived a remote and peaceful life in the rural countryside of the Chin Tung province in a small village called Shih Tuh.

Long was not destined to be a farmer and during his early years spent much of his time seeking spiritual enlightenment. He practiced The Path of Enlightenment as did his family and most of his countrymen but came to appreciate the ethical philosophy of The Way, a religion more popular in the southern provinces. This exercise in thought opened his mind to the teachings of the Oghmyte missionaries who passed through the Chin Tung province.

As a young adult, Long traveled west, continuing his journey for spiritual enlightenment. He has spent years with various teachers, both religious and philosophical, but has remained a devout follower of Oghma, for it is he who encourages learning and takes the seed of a thought, nurtures it, and lets it grow into a towering tree. In particular, the teachings of the Grand Patriarch Cullen Kordamant have found a special place in Long's thoughts and ideas.

Long continues his travels to this day, never fully settling in one place for long. He brings with him the ideas of many teachers and shares the blessing of enlightenment to all who are open to it.

"One who comprehends death, can comprehend eternity."

Jinkax the Vile (Sheet)

Origin: Jun 28 '19, 11:42pm

Neutral Dragonborn (Black) Undying Warlock

Description:
A crest of hornlike black scales of various lengths that resembles thick, ropy hair hangs loosely atop a head that features a blunt snout, a strong brow, and distinctive frills at the cheek and ear. Jinkax is tall, like many of his kind, well over 6 feet, but his frame is thinner than most of his species; another dragonborn might call him gaunt. Pale tattoos run the length of Jinkax's arms, a tribute to Larloch, the Shadow King. His black, scaly hide is wrapped in layers of cloth under a protective layer of boiled leather armor. An arcane trinket hangs from his neck and a pair of daggers are belted at his waist.

Personality:
Jinkax lies about almost everything, even when there's no good reason to. Perhaps he's trying to convince himself of something. Or maybe that's what he likes people to think.

Jinkax has a habit of pocketing anything he sees that might have some value. He claims to be a victim of his dragon heritage and their lust for treasures.

Show Dragonborn

Dragonborn look very much like dragons standing erect in humanoid form, though they lack wings or a tail. The first dragonborn had scales of vibrant hues matching the colors of their dragon kin, but generations of interbreeding have created a more uniform appearance. Their small, fine scales are usually brass or bronze in color, sometimes ranging to scarlet, rust, gold, or copper-green. They are tall and strongly built, often standing close to 6½ feet tall and weighing 300 pounds or more. Their hands and feet are strong, talon-like claws with three fingers and a thumb on each hand.

The blood of a particular type of dragon runs very strong through some dragonborn clans. These dragonborn often boast scales that more closely match those of their dragon ancestor—bright red, green, blue, or white, lustrous black, or gleaming metallic gold, silver, brass, copper, or bronze.

Show Background

Jinkax the Vile was once part of Clan Norixius. They have all died, or are in the final stages of a disease that took his people. As Jinkax searched for a cure or an escape from the fate that awaited him, his body withering away, he found the key that allowed him to unlock untold secrets. Larloch, the Shadow King, hinted at salvation but it was for him alone, or he could not have it.

Jinkax recovered from the disease and as he ignored the pleas for the secret of his cure he left his clan to perish and rot. A deep shame haunts Jinkax for his selfish act though he knows it has pleased his dark master. He travels the land now, never lingering too long in the same place. Always running from the visions of his dying people. The curse of life is upon him and he will never know peace until he truly understands death.

Personality:
Corwyn's eloquent flattery makes everyone he talks to feel like the most wonderful and important person in the world. The common folk love him for his kindness and generosity and he feels it's his noble obligation, his duty, to protect and care for the people beneath him. But while his heart is in the right place Corwyn is not the wisest of men and his words and actions often bring shame to his family.

"We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us."

Clacking Stones (Clack) (Sheet)
Origin: Jan 18 '17, 10:11pm

Chaotic Good Tabaxi Battle Master Fighter 4

Description:
Clack is a green-eyed, black-furred, and slate-skinned Tabaxi of unimpressive proportions. At 23-years old he's peaked out on the shorter side and is just shy of the 120-pound mark. But that hasn't stopped him from learning his martial craft.

Clack carries a bow, he wears a curved scimitar on one hip and a coiled whip on the other. Across his pack are two crossed hand-axes. Suffice it to say, Clack looks every bit of prepared.

Personality:
Clack is incredibly slow to trust. He usually assumes he is being set up or duped or is being apprehended by the local watch. It's happened too many times already.

Clack would rather make a new friend than an enemy, he's led a lonely life. But his trust issues usually hinder this effort.

Show Background

Clack is the worst kind of smuggler there is. Really...he's the worst at it. He has no business in that line of work.

Clack was born a mere 23 years ago and in that time his pack migrated west from the Blackfeather Barrens in search of opportunity and prosperity. Read that as they were run out by a rival pack competing for the same territory. As such Clack grew up on the go and did much more growing up in other civilizations than the other members of his pack. This gave Clack a unique outlook on life for a Tabaxi.

Where Clack's pack struggled he saw the plight of others in similar straights. And when Clack's pack eventually reestablished themselves as local fences and smugglers, Clack remembered the misfortune of others. When Clack attempted to include the other downtrodden in his pack's operations, or simply help them benefit from their enterprise, he was driven off and forced to live a solitary existence.

"Lissenen ar' maska'lalaith tenna' lye omentuva."
(Sweet water and light laughter till next we meet.)

Anduin Greyleaf (Sheet)
Origin:  Oct 4 '17, 1:13pm

Neutral Wood Elf Circle of the Land Druid 7

Description:
Long brown hair dances in the forest breeze. Haunting eyes of hazel gaze calmly at the world around them, as they have for over a century now. Lithe movements carry a slender wood elf through meadows and along hidden trails that few seldom tread. The power of nature is visible around him as the flowers bloom in his presence, offering the world their sweet fragrance and colorful blooms.

Personality:
Anduin once followed the leader of his Circle who imparted wise knowledge on him. He plans to share that knowledge with others.

Anduin is always calm and peaceful, even when facing disaster. Arousing strong emotions in Anduin is not something that is easily done

Show Wood Elf

In Faerûn, wood elves (also called wild elves, green elves, or forest elves) are reclusive and distrusting of non-elves. Wood elves' skin tends to be copperish in hue, sometimes with traces of green. Their hair tends toward browns and blacks, but it is occasionally blond or copper-colored. Their eyes are green, brown, or hazel.

Show Background

Anduin longs for the days of old, when all of Faerûn was covered in green and elves, giants and dragons ruled the world. Still, his home in the High Forest is a vast region of old forest growth. What lay within this deep forest was somewhat of a mystery, and few travel there to explore its depths. This was how Anduin and many of his people preferred it.

At home in the depths of the great forest Anduin's affinity for nature extended from his heritage and became a larger part of his life. Gifted in the art of primal magic as well as nature-lore a bond was cultivated with the druid Circle that protected the balance that had threatened to consume the "old ways". With these druids Anduin served as kind of liaison between the rest of druidic society and the civilized world, serving as an adviser and priest to local communities that remained true to the Old Faith, both elvish and not.

Anduin's presence among the people he guided was never lasting. He would disappear into the forest's depth to not be heard from again for great lengths of time, sometimes years at a time. But when there was cause the wood elf would emerge to protect the realm of which he was a steward.

"A Dwarf without honor is no Dwarf."

Delg Rumnaheim (Sheet)
Origin:  Sep 9 '17, 4:52pm

Lawful Neutral Mountain Dwarf Mastermind Rogue 5

Description:
This hook-nosed dwarf has a ruddy complexion hidden beneath a thick, brown mustache and beard that grows freely from his face. Much of that is hidden beneath the cowl of a cloak, a cloak which also serves to conceal the muscular frame of this mountain dwarf. Dark eyes, as blue as a deep mountain lake, study and watch the busy avenues filled with people.

Delg Rumnaheim may not be as tall as others of his stock, standing at only 4' 1", nor as heavy, but he is still as tough and as strong as the mountain stone. Some say it's this smaller stature that makes him so quick and nimble as well. No matter what it is, when a group of ne'er-do-wells sees "the Badger" charging at them through an alley they know there is little chance of escape.

Personality:
Delg is as dour as any dwarf, and some say more-so. He is easily offended and clings to a grudge like a miser to his gold. His anger is shown the moment he is insulted. But this angry dwarf is also a cunning one, always trying to stay one step ahead of his quarry. Whenever he's in a new place he makes mental notes of all the valuables and their locations, or where things might be hidden. In order to catch a thief, one must think like a thief.

Show Background

The Undercity beneath Mirabar was once home to Delg Rumnaheim. There, born and raised among many clans of his own kind, Delg spent his formative years. Here he gained a respect for the stone, mastery over steel, and a love of strong drink. Honor is paramount above everything else because a Dwarf without honor is no Dwarf.

Later in life Delg joined the ranks of the Axe of Mirabar to help keep the mines of Mirabar clear of monsters. Delg's strength and tenacity quickly earned him the moniker of "the Badger"; he could ferret out anything lairing in the deep tunnels beneath the city.

Eventually Delg took to the streets of Mirabar, testing his cunning against the honor-less scourges of the city and chasing down Mirabar's criminals, a profession that quickly took him hunting for his quarry all across the North.
