Lantern Archon Raalk Gremweldspacer.png

Looking into the eyes of the Farrow was as good as talking, at this moment. What more was there to say beyond "thanks" and "our lives are now entwined" ? Raalk had secured himself an ally, but so had the Judow apparently, and in a most foul manner. The Oracle didn't bother to talk back to the creature, and instead bellowed his defiance against any who stood in his way, a cry sure to be noticed all around, even in the midst of this battle.

He then took a step back behind his newfound ally, clearly stating that he was expecting the Farrow to protect him, and resumed casting, but this time to summon another ally.

image.png.10b939229080f3e2d463c9786a186631.pngThe Lantern Archon appeared in a swirl of radiant light. The beacon of hope made manifest. A guiding spirit of virtue. The Celestial hovered in the air above the conflict waiting for direction.

The Judow in the meantime noticed the creature above it coming into form. Raalk could still hear the thing speaking in his head. Disgust and contempt dripped from its words as it looked at the archon.

Celestial kin....detritus manifest.

It snapped something verbally suddenly, that Raalk couldnt understand this time. The puppet-controlled Farrow charged the other Farrow and the two grappled in a fury of snorts and bellowing squeals. Then it turned its attention back to Raalk, the chains gently floating in the air around it. Its hands becoming wrapped in a black miasma.

Come at me then in you dare... I will enjoy peeling the skin from your still breathing husk...

Raalk wasn't one to turn down a challenge, even against an unknown enemy. He clasped his hand against his shield twice in raw defiance, cried out loud at the Archon to attack the Judow, and rushed toward the Judow and its menacing chains, ready to mete out punishment.

"(Draconic )I fear you NOT ! (/Draconic)"

image.png.10b939229080f3e2d463c9786a186631.pngThe Judow's chains lashed out as attacks came at it, both from the Archon and the Trollkin. The Celestial was out of range in the air as the chain snapped upwards towards it, but found itself short by a good bit. Attempting to dodge the ray would have caused it to open itself up more for the charge. It almost seemed to smirk as the ray struck.

The second chain however cracked against the charging Trollkin as he moved into the Judow's space. The heavy chain despite floating in the air didn;t hit any lighter.

4 Bludgeoning Damage

The black miasma from the creature's hands swirled and twisted down the chain in an instant as the metal clashed against Raalk's skin. The black aura sliding over him, and sucking itself into the freshly open wound. The negative energy pulsing violently as it entered him.

8 Negative Energy Damage / Staggered for 1 round

The damage from the chain was nothing unexpected or concerning to the Trollkin, but the additional power it channeled from the Judow was nothing to scoff at, though, and it hit hard. But it was too early in the fight for the Trollkin to be frightened yet, and he locked gaze with Judow for one instant, his pupils slit vertically and shimmering with a blueish bronze color. Raalk could play the frightening game too, as he unleashed his aura of power against the Judow.

Let there be a clash !

And in the same breath, he tried to back up his unvoiced threat by a deadly spear thrust, aiming at the creature's thigh to limit his mobility, and potentially pierce his artery if his physiology was the same.

Effects : Staggered for this round ; second round of summoned Archon

Actions this round:

Free action : -

Swift action : Activate Presence of the Dragons (Su)Those who would oppose you must overcome their fear of dragons or be struck with terror at your draconic majesty.

As a swift action, you can manifest an aura of draconic might around yourself.

Enemies within 30 feet who can see you when you activate this ability must attempt a Will save.

Success means that the creature is immune to this ability for the following 24 hours.

On a failed save, the opponent is shaken for 2d6 rounds. This is a mind-affecting fear effect.

You can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day at 5th level and for every 5 levels beyond 5th.
- the Will lSave DC is not explained, so I am assuming 10 + 1/2 CL + Cha bonus based on Frightful Presence, so here DC 10 + 3 + 4 = 17

Like it popped ribs out of place and shifted its whole torso. Then it snapped back into place. It simply smirked its toothy grin. It seemed to pay no mind to Raalk's gaze.

It then got hit again with one of the Archon's rays. It glanced towards it in an annoyed stare. Like one would stare at an mosquito that was buzzing about the room.

One of the chains snapped at Raalk', swinging wide and high.

The Judow tugged at the talisman that hung around its neck. Suddenly the area was engulfed in a loud shrieking sound as a phantom like entity manifested above the creature. The phantom lunged forward through the air and slammed the archon with force.

 Raalk Gremweldspacer.png

The Judow was an opponent of no little resources, and Raalk hadn't been able to land a single hit on it just yet. Fortunately, the Oracle was making it expend its resources such as the ghost, but that was little consolation so far. In fact, it was starting to get worrisome, even if the Trollkin wasn't afraid of an attrition battle. So long as it indeed was an attrition battle...

So far, there was only one way to know, and that was to keep on pushing. The Chosen of Dragons gritted his teeth, and did so relentlessly, again trying to aim low to minimize his foe's mobility if possible.

5 Bludgeoning Damage

As the chain struck him, Raalk could see a similar miasma seem to erupt along the chain. This one hit harder though than the last. The spell was also something that Raalk was able to recognize, it was a healing spell, but it had been warped and corrupted. Rather than heal, he felt it burn and rip at his flesh.

Inflict Moderate Wounds - 17 Damage

The Archon gave a bit of a cry as the spectre slammed it, almost seeming to suck the life force from the creature. The summons vanishing.

The two boar-men continued to wrestle off to the side. Both a bit bloodier than earlier. Though only one seemed to showing any signs of fatigue.

Raalk Gremweldspacer.png

The cry that escaped from the Trollkin's left when the spell hit him was a mixture of pain, defiance, and warning. It was loud and deep, and on a continent far away, it would have called plenty of support, and driven fear in the heart of the Trollkin's foe. In this place and time, Raalk expected no such thing though, and was merely doing it out of fighting habit.

Obviously the Judow could damage him badly if it hit, so the solution was not to get hit, and not simply to tough it out through the fight as the Trollkin so often did. The Oracle moved slightly out of the way to better assess the situation, and with his eyes on the chains, tried to carefully cast a spell that should help him gain a better footing in that fight, hopefully. Kaal Okaaz had blessed him, he was no pushover to be so easily discarded ! Or was he ? The shadow of a doubt started creeping in his mind.

image.png.9cd63d88273f5be4ff22065113c001f4.pngThe Judow smiled a wicked grin with its fanged teeth.

Hesitation... doubt....I can smell the fear building... so delicious

The phantom twisted in the air, and flew down and INTO the Judow. The vile creature was suddenly engulfed in a green ectoplasm. It covered it's entire body and it wrapped all the way down the chains. It's red eyes narrowed at Raalk as the protection spell came into existence.

Its vision shifted slightly to the two Farrow that were engaged still in their grapple fight. It twisted its hand and the Farrow that Raalk had healed earlier suddenly squealed in agony. Blood poured from its eyes and ears. Its body stiffened, the cracking of bones could be heard from even roughly the thirty feet away. The "zombie" boar-man taking the opportunity shifted its weight and wrapped its muscled arm around the other's neck. SNAP. The Farrow ceased its squealing. The zombie's eyes looking to Raalk. The Judow's voice still filled the Trollkin's head.

Little blueskin... Shall we continue to play?

It tilted its head for a moment, looking over Raalk.

Your false dragon god will not help you... I am childe of the Kyton... Older than your Nephilim. Older than your Titans.

The voice was eerie and serious. It was almost like he could hear the wailing banshee like specter in the background of the words.

While he still had some fight left in him, Raalk's heart missed a beat as he watched his "ally"fall, and his foe get another support. It wasn't boding well for the Trollkin's fight. Against a single foe. Like it or not, there was no denying the Judow's power. And Raalk hadn't confirmed whether it was alone, or not.

The Oracle's first obligation was to his tribe and his mission, not to some Farrows he knew nothing of... So if the Judow was no threat to his end goals, he didn't have to fight to the bitter end.

Why are you doing this ? What will you do after this village ?

The wanton destruction was no encouraging sign, but perhaps there could be some way out through talking, after all.

Nothing to concern yourself with. You will join the Tohaa, and the others that have opposed the Kyton.

The puppet Farrow stood up and charged at Raalk. While the Farrow in life would not have been evil, the unholy spell that was animating it was drenched in the negative energy of the spell. Thankfully because of that, the spell was able to deflect the boar-man's heavy fist from finding its mark. The attack missing only by inches as the Oracle could feel the force of the punch blow past him. It's howled in an angry rage. Its eyes dead, glowing with the miasma.

The other Farrow now twitched as well, the green glow washing over it as well. It's bone popping and snapping, as it rose to its feet once more, its broken neck hanging limp to the side.

Raalk had already struggled alone against the Judow, so when he noticed another puppet joining the dance, it obviously became very much a losing proposition. If he could leverage his asset of Fast Healing, he may try some hit and run tactics, but that really wasn't his strong suit... And he had Lady Samaa to care about, too.

There was nothing much left to do at this point...

The Oracle gritted his teeth, spotted a path through debris where he would not be easily followed, and ran away enough to cast a powerful spell of movement. If only he had been more powerful...

image.png.9cd63d88273f5be4ff22065113c001f4.pngRaalk could hear the laughter from the Judow in his head as he flew away. Eventually he would create enough distance that the mental connection would drop. Flying above the tree lines the Oracle would be able to see Samaa continuing to try and create water to snuff out and prevent fires from taking over the jungle. Vanora and the other rider had also touched down close by and were attempting to help injured Farrow get away from the village. The rider also thankfully seemed to be a water-based spellcaster and was also helping to neutralize the fires.

 Raalk Gremweldspacer.png

The sight of the Genasi helping with the fires to save the village wrung Raalk's heart. It was in vain... he landed near them and immediatly urged them "Stop that ! You should flee instead while there's time ! It is futile, the Judows are too powerful !" While he was not quite panicked, he still felt nauseated at the memory. He had tried, really, and failed miserably.

Possibly, with the others help, they may end up prevailing against a Judow, but this was probably not the doings of a single one. He turned toward the Farrow, oblivious that she probably didn't speak it, and asked "(Primordial) How many ? How many are there ? (/Primordial)" If there was more than a couple of them... Perish the thought !
