If offered, Remi calmly takes his identification documents back and stows them away. If not, he patiently waits. Remi begins to smoothly address the undead welcoming committee. "As my colleague briefly mentioned, we exited the Mournland to take short rest and recover. Once we are mended, we aim to return into the Mournland and continue our journey. It is reassuring though that you are here in case the malevolent warforged were to follow us this far."

If you have no reason for being here then you must leave."

"You are fortunate that I don't arrest you and seize your vessel and goods. You have no transport papers, no visitor passes, none of you are native to the Karrnath nation, in fact several of you are from nations that were previously at war with Karrnath." He stops and looks at you, "Your injuries are not the concern of Karrnath, your healing is not the concern of Karrnath. Your presence in our country is our concern. You have no valid reason for entering Karrnath. Leave. Immediately!"

Remi takes one more quick look at the surrounding troop of undead. He responds, "Well, that sounds like an agreeable option. Shall we, colleagues?" He begins to make relaxed motions of preparing to leave.

Remi communicates through the mental network. <<We are outnumbered and outclassed. I think we should be on our way, and quick.>>

Putting his own papers away once they were returned, Roderick simply nodded in agreement with Remi's telepathic comment. The artificer didn't waste any more time straightening up, setting about trying to heal folks as much as he could before they returned to the Mournland.

Some things never changed- especially in the eyes of a creature which probably didn't observe the passing of time with much interest. To'Nari watched the undead investigators scatter through the group's supplies, inwardly expressing disappointment. "At least we won't have to worry about them stealing our supplies, seeing as they don't need any."

To bonesetter's comment about spending coin in their nation, the cryptic pointed out; "For these inflexible soldiers, it is possible the war has not ended. Either that or allowing unknown individuals to breach their border, potentially far from known roads or towns, is suspicious enough on its own."

On our way back to the mists we should ready ourselves for the group that had been following us. Maybe we can enter at a slightly different place than where we made our exit?"

Actions

To'Nari:

Assist in the recovery and re-organization of the searched goods.

 


Xavier (Psicrystal):

Still speaking telepathically with Antonio; Xavier would relay Remi's suggestion of leaving, and would also relay any other important bits of the conversation. "...additionally, Antonio- if you wish to speak in a clandestine manner, you can relay your thoughts to me and I will convey them to master To'Nari."

It takes some time to accelerate so their malevolent glare is right next to you as you move. To'Nari receives a telepathic response from the artificer, They're pushing us straight toward the Mist. Maybe I can turn us around once we're inside it but I don't want to get lost.

It is clear that they just want you gone and are cautious enough to ensure that you don't simply travel a little way and return. You don't know how these creatures communicate but surely they must be able to pass your descriptions on to their allies. Returning may well prove dangerous unless you can forge the papers to prove that you have a valid reason to enter Karrnath again.

As the Earth Sled began slowly making its way back toward the mists, Roderick set about healing folks as quickly as he could manage. If the warforged were waiting for them, he wanted to try to get everyone as ready as possible. For now, the artificer just focused on pumping out the healing, trusting Bonesetter to redirect it as necessary.

Were they really so far north? Nox wanted to beat the crap out of the undead soldiers, but it was a fight they could avoid and probably should. As they entered back in the mist, she flicked the undead off.

image.png.4d33f22261e92028e8040ad36a992d30.pngHealing washes over you, leaving only minor wounds on To'Nari and Bonesetter before you enter the Dead Gray Mists again. There is another moment of disorientation as if you are not really on Khorvaire any more but somehow floating apart from it but you quickly emerge from the other side to a featureless plain. In the distance, on your left, probably five or more miles away is a still lake.

On your right, rising above the horizon, are the towers of a city.

Antonio brings the Earth Sled to a halt and starts taking measurements, trying to work out exactly where you have emerged. "It's weird," he says eventually, "We should still be some distance from Metrol but I think that's the city over there."

"It was the Rising City, shining jewel of Galifar and of Cyre, our capital," he puts down his instruments and shrugs, "The river Melandor flows through the city so we should be able to follow it if we head north. If it isn't there then this is another city."

But seeing Metrol so close is a welcome sight. I wonder if those pursuers of ours will be thrown off our 'scent'. Surprisingly relieved to be back in the wasteland of the mournlands, To'Nari peered off into the distance at the city on the horizon. "Did we truly travel further than expected? Such a thing is not unknown within the strange bounds of the mists, although I believe it would be additionally beneficial for us to find a suitable place to camp."

 

Actions

To'Nari:

Using low-light vision to try and scope out a good place to rest for the evening.
