The door bell caught Specs' attention--mostly because it wasn't just a simple push. "The heck? That's not right...." He pushed his glasses up his nose again.

"Uh, anyone gonna get that... or..." he asked, somewhat rhetorically. Seeing no one walking that way, Specs opened the door.

"Hello?" he asked as the door swung open.

Scene Traits:  Specs at the front door; Twins, Kev in the lobby; Rock in tiny shorts by a greased pole.

Specs opened the door and there stood a man in his late fifties, in what looked to be an old-style postal worker's uniform. He reached into his postal bag to take out a letter.

The letter had an eerie glow to it, as it began to float out of the man's hand and grow beady red glowing eyes.

The postman at the door.

image.png.a63bad176487c570b48c2e75879e1c3e.png

The glow then surrounded the postal worker as his skin began to age rapidly as his appearance changed, he became more spectral looking he let out a terrifying roar at Specs.

"Return to Sender, Address Unkown!"

OOC:

Using Ghost Power: Terrorize (3d6) Specs needs to beat the Terrorize with a Cool roll or Specs to needs to run.

"Oh, it's just the mail guy," Specs said before the glowing letter was pulled free.

"Mail guy with a glowing letter--HOLY CRAP IN A PITA!" he added with a shout, trying to keep his nerves down.

It was too much, too early in the morning. Specs' second coffee of the day dropped to the ground with the shatter of porcelain.

"OLD GHOST DEMON SKELETON! RUUUUUUUNNNN!!!" he screamed in terror as the man transformed and decayed before the nerd's eyes. Specs made for the furthest spot in the room he could get to hide behind in an unreasonably fast pace.

To be fair to Specs, Kev didn't do a whole lot better. Sure, "Who Dares, Wins" and all that. Point him at bastards with a pulse and Kev can get dirty right back.

That was the problem with the supernatural though. Immune to Bullets. Kind of puts him out of his expertise.

"Alright kids, let's step back a bit. Rock, you near our Toasters?"

He starts moving to get the kids away. Granted, a Ghost Post Office Worker is a wee bit less violent than a supernatural experience could be, but without a Proton-Pack, better safe then sorry with the civies.

"Right, we're going to see if there's any Halloween candy in the back. We're the Ghostbusters, we always have the good stuff - ey?"

Rock was enthusiastically ignoring the door while waving the kids towards the stairs to play on the pole when all heck broke loose. Rock's immediate thought was whether or not he had parked his replica back to the future Delorian on the left or right side of the street last night. If it was the right side he probably had a ticket. His brain flashed back to the moment and he shouted

Hey kids, who wants to see me tackle a ghost!

As he made to tackle the ghost he heard his buddy Kev's recommendation. Toaster. Yeah. He reached over to the actual toaster and snatched it up right as a little old lady was helping herself to the Spec's bagels. He gave a big dumb smile and a thumbs up to Kev. Rock didn't pick up what Kev had put down, possibly in a very bad way. Swinging the toaster around his head he shouted!

You're toast carrier of the post, the busters of ghosts gonna be all she wrote! Suck Spec's Breakfast!

Two everything bagels sailed from the toaster as Rock closed in on the poor ghost postman...

Scene Traits:  Specs away from the front door hiding in the break room; Twins, Kev in the lobby; Kev moving the kids to the break room, Rock going to tackle the ghost with a toaster.

The Wilderness Kids ran into the break room at Kev got them out of the way. Kev managed to organize them and they followed his command. Rock went into toaster-slinging mode as the bagels flew at the ghost. They passed right threw the ectoplasmic spirit, and became covered in postal slime.

Then Rock Bellows went to tackle the ghost and became covered in the type of slime only the post office can provide. Time began to slow down for Rock as he felt like he was waiting in line at the post office to deliver a package with about 50 people waiting in front of him.

The ghost laughed with glee.

Kyle and Kurt looked at each other dumbfounded. Both dug down deep gulped, and ran to the gear closet. They didn't know how to use a proton thrower but took the proton packs out and ran it over to Kev and Specs.

"Crap I forgot the traps" Kurt blurted out.

OOC:

Rock on his next turn needs to make a Brains roll equal to the roll below or be slowed, meaning his moves score is going to be reduced by half.

"Okay, okay, no it's fine, it's fine, you're fine," Specs had said to himself, trying to calm down in the break room.

"So what if it looks just like Uncle Fred? Hmm? So what? That's totally not him, right? Pssshhh, right....."

Kev burst into the room with the kids and Specs let out a small shriek. "OH GEEZ! It's just you guys." Specs was clearly panicking, unable to get over his nerves and a haunted memory.

Then the Twins showed up with their gear. Seeing the proton pack, Specs stood up, then sat back down, then finally grit his teeth and stood back up. He grabbed the pack and swung it around his shoulders, trying to look cool. He forgot how heavy it was, nearly falling over.

He pulled the thrower into his hands. "Okay, okay, here we go, here we go....and....NOW!" He burst out of the break room and saw the ghost just having it's ooey-gooey way with Rock. "You get your slimy hands off him you damn dirty mailman!" He pulled the trigger, throwing a line of bright blue and orange energy at the ghost.

Scene Traits:  Specs away in the break room; Twins, Kev in the break room; Kev and the kids in the break room (Overcowed breakroom), Rock slimed and slowed down by imaginary postal lines.

Specs' worked through his fear, as his proton blast hit the spectral postman. The postman began to shake as it was surrounded by the proton cage. This was one unhappy postman.

"Letters are written, never meaning to be sent!" the ghost screamed as it struggled to get free.

OCC:

The ghost took 3 damage from the proton pack. It is now either Kev's or Rock's turn.

"Huh, usually that's me getting goobed." Kev quips, but dutifully gets to getting some of those straps on to step up and help the crew.

"Right, we get Rock out of there - get his gear on, and we give this thing a proper greeting, ey?" he remarks, trying to keep the kids calm at least.

"Don't try this at home, as they say."

Kev's proton wand fired and was careful not to cross the streams with Specs containment stream. The Postal ghost was contained in the two streams, as he tried to push spectral letters into any opening it could find.

The pair would need a trap soon if the ghost was going to be contained.

OOC:

@CptFitz It is your turn. If the ghost is not trapped this round it has a chance of breaking out.

Rock's toaster attack was looking excellent, kitchen appliance swirling around his head, the big oaf looked back to the kids and Kev with a thumbs up before everything went pear shaped. First the toaster went through the postman and Rock followed quickly afterward. The man landed in his skivvies covered in ectoplasmic goo. All he could think of was that time he hosted the Nick Kid's Choice awards and they smiled him on stage for some endangered animal. He couldn't remember what the animal was cause all he could think about at the time was dang, should have taken off my shoes. Of course it was too late now and they were slimed and he was gonna have to test the company's return policy...except the line at the post office was so long. So very long...

Rock sat in the puddle of goo mumbling pointing at the toaster.

Do you think I should mail the shoes right back to Michael Jordan or maybe like Black and Deck?

The man was not wearing shoes and was clearly not in the right head space. Hearing his name jarred him from his malaise and he slipped up to his feet and shook his head throwing goop about. He needed to help his buddies. With determination he shouted in his deep slow voice.

Don't worry team, I'm on my way!...Whoah!!!...Oh no!!!

With the dexterity and grace of a drunken giraffe on stilts attempting to preform disney's princesses on ice, Rock made his way embarrasingly across the room. First he tried to run and fell on his head twice before realizing that he was better off just pushing off things and penguin sliding across the room. When he got to his gear, slimey fingers slipped on the strapping...

Giraffes! I lost my shoes for giraffes!

ACTIONS:

Failed brains save to move half/slowed, Move to try and gear up. Up you GM how far along Rock gets. Likely no more actions than scrambling to help.

Scene Traits:  Specs away in the break room; Twins in the equipment room; Kev and the kids in the break room (Overcowed breakroom), Rock slimed and slowed down by imaginary postal lines, half way between the break room on the Main Lobby.

Rock continued his slow bumbling walk full of postal slime. Kyle and Kurt raced to find the ghost traps in the equipment room.

"Is that an Ecto Spanner?" "No that is a Physcokinetic metal with a handle on it." The twins searched more. Kyle started to tug on something wirey "Wait I think I found one." Kyle pulled out a dead mouse.

Kurt then looked at him with a grin. " Nope, not it." Kyle tossed the dead mouse to a nearby wilderness kid. He dug in a little more and with his brother's help dragged out two ghost traps.

The brothers then rushed the traps over to Specs who was trying to contain the Ghost with a particle beam. "Ok, now what do we do?"

In between grunts of fighting the wild gravitational pulls from the proton thrower, Specs shook his head at Rock's sliding antics. "America's.... Sweetheart.... ladies and... gentlemen..."

Specs eyeballed the traps in the Twins' hands, then shot a look at Kev. "You got this... right Kev?!" he yelled before disengaging his thrower.

"Lemme show ya how it's done, lads!" Specs said before glancing back at the mailman. He felt the fear creep up his spine and into his neck, causing him to flinch. "Gah! I can't... get closer. I'm gonna try throwing them from here! Put the foot pads in front of me!"

Under his breath, Specs said, "Not my uncle... not my uncle..."

Specs grabbed the two traps and tried throwing them along the ground in such a way they'd slide all the way to the ghost's position. He stomped on whichever ended up closer.

Scene Traits:  Specs away in the break room; Twins in the equipment room; Kev and the kids in the break room (Overcowed breakroom), Rock slimed and slowed down by imaginary postal lines, halfway between the break room on the Main Lobby.

The traps that specs slid across the room one flew right by the Postman Ghost, and then the other right underneath it. Specs stomped on the pedal and the trap opened.

latest?cb=20091224184032

The postal worker was sucked into the ghost trap along with Spec's fear of it and Rock's daydreams of waiting on long postal lines. However the former NFL star was still covered in slime that smelled like old envelope glue.
