Khakhan Posted June 4, 2022 Clone Share Posted June 4, 2022 I actually prefer the icon, but I also... don't like the use of OOC tags in the middle of the post, tbh. However, the magnifying glass is good. I really quite like it.

Khakhan Posted June 4, 2022 Clone Share Posted June 4, 2022 This one. It feels like it matches the scale of the text, and I prefer the normal coloration on the text (or have it matching the text as themes change).
DarkisNotEvil Posted June 4, 2022 Clone Share Posted June 4, 2022 Despite my suggestion of the bang, upon consideration, the magnifier beats it on every marker. It's non-specific to text color, is appropriately sized, and can't be mistaken for a written character. As a compromise, I suggest adding the looking glass as an emoji to be targeted by OOC text, if there's not going to be a token to indicate. Also add the bang to emojis for the same reason, so I can continue to look smart.
bwatford Posted June 5, 2022 Clone Share Posted June 5, 2022 If you guys don't want an icon, then what I can offer to look different than links is a double underline. This is what a double underlineDouble Underline Example ooc tag looks like. Thoughts?

Or maybe double-dash-lined? Just something to further differentiate it from an HTML link.

I could change the font style to help it standout but I think the double line works well.

bwatford Posted June 9, 2022 Clone Share Posted June 9, 2022 @Gralhruk how's the double underline working for you? A good compromise? Asking since you started the poll.
Gralhruk Posted June 10, 2022 Author Clone Share Posted June 10, 2022 My personal preference is text-decoration underline dotted - as you would see in the default styling on an abbr tag, since I think it really serves the same function: Like this But if that is deemed too subtle, double underline works fine for me 🙂. horrizon Posted June 10, 2022 Clone Share Posted June 10, 2022 Double underline or dashed color underline feels best for me. But, in fact, it's not a big thing for me to do away with the icon, if it's not too intrusive, it won't disrupt the text for me.
Scarecrow71 Posted June 18, 2022 Clone Share Posted June 18, 2022 @bwatford Are you still working on this? I ask because we have the double underline in the default theme, but speech bubbles in all other themes. Regardless of whichever way this eventually goes, any chance you can get these the same across all themes?

We will be adding the double underline across all themes.
bwatford Posted June 18, 2022 Clone Share Posted June 18, 2022 The default OOC should now be double underline across all themes. Invision Light theme does still have the icon for some reason as well as the underline but that theme is on the schedule to be overhauled next so will leave it for now.
