Hum grins at Darius as the wax fails to reach them. The leshy wiggles their fingers and speaks words of power. "Did you hear the one about the human who tangled with the wrong leshies, Darius?" they begin to joke, unleashing their hideous laughter spell against the human. "I'm afraid it didn't end well."

Hum then begins to move south, wanting to put as much distance between themself and their companions as possible. They don't want Darius to be able to use his wax to hit the bunched up group again.

Branch strides up, leaves trembling in fury, as he smacks Darius upside the head, leaving a nasty purple welt.

Darius form jolts from the electric current, but seems to avoid the brunt of it.

Darius flinches at Linny's display, and seems absolutely befuddled as Linny darts and and twists past him.

Darius laughs uncotrollably, even as the tip of Linny's rapier, glistening with crystalline shards and blood, bursts forth from his upper chest. A breathless wheeze escapes his mouth as he drops his wax thrower and falls to his knees, still trying to laugh until his last breath.

The homunculus bites Branch twice. The bites hurt, as does the searing hot wax left behind.

Darius' turn:

Frantic to stay in the fight, Darius concentrates for a moment. His crystalline fangs and claws recede back into normal teeth and nails, and of his wounds vanish. As Linny seems to be the most threatening of the two who have struck him so far, and so Darius concentrates his efforts on the thorny bush.

*Forgot some math:

1st attack -1, so 16 to hit

2nd attack -1, but forgot the +5, so 17. Would have been an 18 and enough to hit with flanking, but Hum's spell gave the -1 to make him miss.

Dew and Branch's turn.

Everyone may post their turn now, I will resolve everything in order and try to have you doing what makes most sense for you in doing so.

Branch and Smoke need to make flat 1d20 checks vs DC 15 to avoid persistent damage from that hot wax. Actions may be taken, like pouring water on them or trying to wipe the wax off, to boost their chances.

Linny repels the wax monsters bites, laughing off the creatures attempts to bite him. He is tempted to strike at it as it falls short, but remembers Darius is the real threat and instead focuses on defence! Having blocked away the large man's attacks, Linny pushes himself onto the offensive once more!

 


Action 1 : Intimidating Glare on Blue Wax (Intimidation vs Enemy Will) - If Blue is Demoralized, Linny gains Panache!
Action 2 : Step 5ft NE to no longer be flanked
Action 3 : Confident Finisher - Strike Darius - +2d6 Damage and does half damage on a fail if he has Panache, otherwise normal strike

Hum frowns as their humorous spell falls flat. They decide to take a more direct approach. Speaking a word of power, they wiggle their fingers. An arc of electricity leaps from Hum toward the nearest homunculus and Darius himself. Hum then takes another step south, placing their back against the corner.

Ash does their best not to panic, managing to rid themselves of the hot wax. Smoke was not so lucky, as the burning wax has failed to cool down and is tangled in the bear's thick fur.

Still, there was too much chaos and the wax-bearing foes need to be taken down.

"Foul fiends! You hurt my friends!" he shouts, this time in common.

Curls of gray smoke begin releasing from the vine leshy's core as fire gathers in their hands. They stretch their long, spindly arm out and release three rays of scorching fire!

'Hold on a bit longer, Smoke. I'll heal you up soon!' Ash thinks.

OOC & Actions

Action 1, 2, & 3: Cast Scorching Ray as a 3-action spell, one ray targeting each enemy.
Attack rolls below. Darius and Blue homunculus likely gains +1 to AC for having light cover from Branch.
Will also roll Smoke's flat check vs. persistent fire damage.

11 fire damage on a normal hit, 22 on a critical hit. No mention of failure, so Darius takes no fire damage.

Action 1: Move up to 35 feet to adjacent to cauldron
Action 2: Try to shove the cauldron to knock it over; I'm hoping that will prevent him from using his wax gun too much, or maybe make it hard from him to run away, or something. Gonna roll Athletics since it seems applicable, but let me know if this isn't allowed or I need to do something else.
