  1. Mim bravely charges the devil ant workers and plunges his pitchfork into the nearest one, wounding it badly. It retaliates by spitting something sticky into Mim's face, and he can feel it overriding his willpower as he is forcibly rejoined to the hive mind. Another ant communicates with him telepathically: Search for other intruders. When you are done, return to work. He is little more than a worker himself now as he obeys. The rest of the ants fan out in the hallway, looking for others. OOC This ends what is effectively a surprise round. Everyone else can assume that they have now made it into the corridor with their next post, and make attack rolls or do whatever other action they wish.
  2. When Grog tries to talk the access panel into letting the tribesfolk in, it merely scans him again and repeats its message. Mim stands guard out in the hall, all alone. By the time the dim light of the mushrooms reveals the six approaching devil ant workers, they are very nearly upon him. OOC Mim needs to roll initiative by himself. Everyone else can roll initiative too by group as we did before, but it will take one round to reach Mim and the ant workers.
  3. So what's up? I know it's only been two days but usually at least some of you have posted by this time. Feeling stuck or what?
  4. "Don't look Riley, you're too young to see adult content!" cries Madison with a giggle, briefly play-wrestling with the girl as she attempts to cover her eyes. Zeus, seeming concerned by her actions, stands on his hind legs and puts his forepaws on Madison's ankle, and soon she leaves Riley alone to give the rat some pets. Frowning, Madison examines her own statue. Specifically, the cat-like eyes. "Hey, I don't have eyes like that, right?" Says Madison, who clearly does. "I mean, someone would have told me if I had sexy-creepy cat eyes."
  5. For me, where a Fallout game is set isn't particularly interesting to me, it's all irradiated wasteland anyway. That said I'm most interested in the Gulf Coast simply because it's something we haven't seen yet in existing media. My interest in the five pillars are as follows: 1 - Faction Conflict/Relationships 2 - Crafting/Scavenging 3 - Survival/Exploration 4 - Combat/Aggressive Negotiations 5 - Settlement Building/Management
  6. I'll deal bonus holy damage to you if you touch me!
  7. I love the Fallout games, especially the earlier ones. Love the show too. Complete newbie to the system but am quite interested.
  8. "Woah, there's like a bunch of movie props and crap in here," says Madison as she examines the goods. A thought occurs to her, and she pulls out one of the arrows and touches the tip of her finger against it, finding it quite sharp. "Scratch that, this is all real." She briefly rummages through the pack before picking up the leather armor and sizing it up. It looked like it just might fit. On impulse, she puts it on, over her dress. It wasn't too heavy, or too light. It felt right. Probably the only thing that did feel right since she had woken up in this strange place. She dons the pack and shoulders the bow as well, on impulse, and then examines her sword. It felt solid in her hand. She had the strange sensation that she actually knew how to use it. She sheathes it at her belt and then wanders off to see what the others might have discovered. "Hey Xander, check me out, I'm Legolas." She falters when she sees the statues. "Woah... those are like... us. I mean not exactly us, but still."
  9. The rucksack is made of some unknown wondrous material that is as supple as soft leather but seems surprisingly sturdy. The skeleton is otherwise uninteresting. Inside the rucksack are a number of Ancient One artifacts. A large metal circle that unclasps, with buttons and meters on it. A long, sturdy metal staff that has a handle on the side and a hole on one end. And three small metal cylinders that are identical to each other. When Grog begins fussing with the access panel, it scans him with a wide red laser. "No biometric implant detected," the access panel informs him in a calming female voice. "Please remain where you are. Security personnel are on their way to assist you."
  10. Dianora giggles wetly and turns to face another centipede. "This is making me hungry!" She cries as she raises her morningstar.
  11. "It looks big enough to be a supply closet or something," says Madison curiously, examining one of the doors. "Wonder what's inside." She sets Zeus down and allows him to poke around the room on his own as she tries to open one of the doors.
  12. "Delicious you say? Good to know where my next meal is, teehehehe." Dianora readies her morning star for combat.
  13. Well technically the first hit of the game was Valthjofr throwing the bag at the old woman. 😂
  14. Just realized I haven't been keeping up on the graveyard. Want to give epitaphs for The Ratman, Yaz, Zyx, and Bamzaw?
  15. The second Bamzaw places his finger in the larvae's mouth, it clamps down on it and bites the appendage clean off. Nearby larvae, smelling the blood, begin swarming up the hapless tribesman, tearing off chunks of flesh. Soon, they're picking his bones clean (2 damage). The larvae converge on the corpse, greedily consuming it. A thorough exploration of the room yields a metal hatch in the back with an access panel. Beside the hatch is a skeleton of a pure strain human clutching a dull green rucksack.
  16. "Wait, so we turned into fantasy creatures?" Asks Madison incredulously. "I mean I guess you'd know Fred; you've always got your nose in Tolkien. Wait... you didn't sign us up for some fantasy themed escape room that turns out to be magical, did you? Because if you did, I'm going to murder you myself."
  17. Snowbelle Skysdottr Nymph Barbarian HP 16/16 FP 8/13 Conditions/ Effects Snowbelle gazes towards the hidden compartment uncomfortably. "I am glad it is not me who has angered these men. I do not think I could fit inside."
  18. "Okay, so to recap, none of us has any memory of how we got her or what happened to us, and we're all equally confused. That's just great." She stands up from her bed, petting her rat nervously. Even that familiar action brought only a shallow comfort, for it also served to remind her how much Zeus had changed. How they all had changed. Then again... there was one of them who apparently hadn't undergone any sort of transformation - Dallas. The thought instantly made her suspicious of her classmate, and no amount of self-talk could really divorce her of the idea. She decided to tuck it away for now and think about it more later. "We've got to find a way out of here. Then we can go see a doctor to change us back to normal, and a veterinarian for Zeus." Even as she speaks, she feels like her directions are hollow and full of false hope. She pushes on anyway. "There's water coming from that door. Let's go check it out." Though she looks quite nervous, she makes her way through that door, intending to lead the way.

  20. Madison awoke in the manner in which she was accustomed to - the sensation of Zeus licking her face. But even as she reached up to give him pets and snuggles, it abruptly dawned on her that something was terribly wrong. To begin, she clearly wasn't in her bed, she had been sleeping on something cold and hard. Even more alarming, Zeus was heavier - far heavier than he should be. And most troubling of all, her own body felt different than it should have - lighter and more graceful, and her ears felt weird too. She opens her eyes to the sounds of Ariana crying out for her oxygen. "Oh no!" she cries immediately, worried about her classmate. "Where's-" her inquiry is cut short when she notices her surroundings and the questions pile up. "Where are we?! What happened to you guys?!" Instinctively, she scoops up her rat for comfort as she sits up on the stone slab, only to almost drop him when she realizes that he too has changed. He looks bigger, meaner, and even a bit mangier, almost like a wild animal. "Zeus!" she cries out in alarm, staring at him. "Is that really you buddy?" Zeus responded by nuzzling and licking her hand, and she instantly knows that the animal in her arms is indeed the one she is familiar with. Madison wears a simple white dress, her eyes are slitted and lit like those of a cat, and her ears are now long and pointed, her body smaller and more toned. She reaches up and touches them. "And what the hell happened to my ears?!"
