The illusionist, however, steps down from her wooden chair and approaches the grieving father. "Calm down, my friend. Please sit and tell us what you can. We will help, of course." As she supports the human's arm, she guides him carefully to her recently vacated seat. With her squeaky gnomish voice, she calls out, "Barkeep! Please. Something to calm this poor fellow's nerves." She then turns to Lockwood. "Please, Valen. I, and I believe my friends here, would like to assist in the rescue. However, we might not have too much time before the storm hits." Dalya, standing by the old man, then quietly looks to the closest window to assess the speed of the incoming squall. 2. , nice pic, BTW. It suits Torm well! , I’m assuming that the GM is waiting for . As for the latter, well, I’m guessing they’re dealing with some RL issues that are preventing them from posting on M-W.
  3. OOC, , exactly what does Torm look like?

"Akari's right. There's also the problem that the good, ole' EJ might find the excessive paperwork a problem, but I guess that's something for their lawyers and accountants to deal with, not us." The tall human then addresses the entire group. "Look, we can't leave the shipment alone and unguarded, but we're going to have to check this out in the flesh. How about Akari, Jin, Whiskey and I go to the front door to talk to someone higher-up the bureaucratic ladder while the rest of you stay here?" "While we're at it, could one of you contact Raenala about this? Maybe she's got a different perspective on all this, or maybe she might have some contacts we could use. Also, ask her to contact Tarika and see what he knows." "If anybody has any better ideas, I for one would be happy to hear them. The sooner we get off this dirtball where we can see our enemies coming, the better I'll like it."

"Ah, I see where you're going with this, my friend. No. There is nothing more to be said about that book. As for my '...last big adventure, though....'" The wizard takes another sip from her tankard. "Let me see, let me see.... Well, last week I had gotten a lead on an ancient manuscript from Grognard the Grim. The scroll was supposedly hidden in a cave in the southern bogs. Nik, you know the area I'm talking about, right? Anyway, I was looking for it and had checked several likely spots." "Unfortunately, no such luck." "At one location, though, I could hear whimpering. As I crept carefully closer into the cave to investigate, I spotted a young goblin who had fallen into a pit and broken a leg. The poor thing was in pain." "Naturally I checked around for any traps in the area but couldn't find anything, so I called out to the poor thing in Common. (One of these days, I really should learn Goblinoid.) Anyway, I told her that I was going to lower a rope down to her and that she should tie it around her chest and I would drag her back up so that I could escort her to her clan." "She was initially reluctant but eventually did as I had asked. She was light enough so it didn't take me long to get her out of there by myself." "Once she was freed, I tried to examine her injury... and then she spat into my face! While I was trying to wipe the spittle off, she grabbed my empty money purse and scrambled away as quickly as possible into the Dankmere." The forest gnome then laughs merrily at her anecdote. "Ah, me. I guess there's always something to be learned in the swamps, isn't there?" In her patented squeaky little voice she exclaims, "Bravo, Torm. Bravo! I don't believe I've ever heard that story before. 'Inheritance judgments'! Haha! Wonderful." Turning towards the dark-haired half-elf, Dalya thinks for a moment before answering. "As for news about the Feywild, I'm afraid I have nothing salacious enough to offer, Shariel. Perhaps our missing comrade, Syljyre, could accommodate. However...." Sticking the tip of her tiny tongue out of the left side of her mouth, she concentrates, waves her right hand ever so slightly... and a three-dimensional life-size portrait of the witch's youngest materializes, floating amongst those assembled around the round table. Satisfied with her Minor Illusion, the wizardess smiles her dimpled smile. "As for new illusions, though.... Well, what do you think? It's been awhile since I last saw your daughter. I believe, however, that this is a decent enough portrait." "How is she doing, by the way?"
