Elhana came out soon after Cody and the look on her face took him aback for a moment as he saw a hint of anger in her eyes. When she got in front of him she gave him a resounding slap. "You bastard, you have been back for over an hour. Where have you been? I have been so worried about you, and you have been so callous." tears are around the edges of her eyes. Jake rubs his chin and he mubbled to himself, something to the effect of why do all women want to hit him. He gives his wife a sad smile before he responds. "I am sorry sweetheart. I tried checking on the prisoners being detained, since I was tryong to check on them before i was struck down and i had no information on what happened to them but knew that Cody and the rest of your guard would keep you safe." she gives him a penetrating look, it was obvious that she was still upset with him but her expression thawed a bit. She knew how passionate he was about the safety of his men, even if he was retired now. "Well what did you find out, are they safe?" he gives a sad shake of his head. "I was not allowed to see them, they gave some bullshit excuses around waiting for the vote here. Which makes me more suspicious. I have tried doing this through legitimate channels. Now I may need to use some back channels, and less legit ways to find out what I need to know. The leaders here are doing something shady and they do not even want their own people to know about it.
