Trahim Silvergrace, a character born into a world scarred by the reign of Lord Acridia Bastion, was not just a victim of circumstances. His thirst for knowledge and fascination with the arcane and alchemy were his beacons of hope in the oppressive shadow of Acridia's rule. This led him to study under the tutelage of a reclusive gnome alchemist in a remote corner of Chrystal, where he delved deeper into the secrets of magic.


Trahim's childhood, however, was marred by betrayal and trauma. Bullied by his peers, he endured taunts and ridicule that cut deep into his psyche. Despite his efforts to fit in, his supposed friends turned on him when they ventured too close to the border of the dreaded Wastes. In a cruel twist of fate, they abandoned Trahim to the mercy of the desolate land, leaving him to fend for himself against its unforgiving dangers.


Alone and filled with terror, Trahim's survival instincts surged. Tapping into his innate magical abilities, he deftly navigated the treacherous Wastes, using his mastery of silent image illusions to outsmart lurking dangers. Each moment in the Wastes was a fierce battle for survival, a testament to Trahim's unyielding resilience and unwavering determination to conquer the seemingly insurmountable odds.


Haunted by the betrayal of his childhood friends and the horrors he witnessed in the Wastes, Trahim emerged from his harrowing experience a profoundly transformed gnome. Paranoia gnawed at his mind, a constant reminder of the fragility of trust and the lurking dangers in the shadows. Yet, amidst the scars of his past, Trahim discovered a newfound strength and a clear sense of purpose, marking a significant turning point in his life.


Driven by a deep-seated desire to prevent others from suffering the same fate, Trahim dedicated himself to mastering the arcane arts and perfecting his skills as an alchemist.


As the rumors of One-eyed Whalebone's quest for the lost gold of Acridia reached Trahim's ears, he saw more than just an opportunity. It was a chance to confront his demons, to reclaim a sense of agency in a world marked by betrayal and uncertainty. With a steely resolve and a heart hardened by adversity, Trahim Silvergrace made a decision. He would join the ranks of adventurers, not just to thwart the pirate's ambitions, but to prove to himself and the world that he was more than just a victim of his past.

I know it's near heresy to mention 4th edition, but I kinda liked the setting they had, a weird mix of all other settings. FR, Dragonlance, Dead Sun even Planescape had some representation. What was the name? Nith, Nin, Nhint... I know it was short and something with N.

Despite the sun's warmth, a chilling unease clung to his soul, a reminder of the harrowing experiences he had endured in the unforgiving Wastes.

As Trahim approached the first stall, his gaze was drawn to the potions on display. His fingers traced the edges of the Admixture Vial, a tool of immense power. The price tag sent a sharp pang of anxiety through him, a reminder of the constant threat of danger. The decision to invest in such a powerful tool was not an easy one, and Trahim's heart skipped a beat as he weighed the potential benefits against the risks.

With a reluctant sigh, Trahim reluctantly parted with his hard-earned coin, the weight of the Admixture Vial heavy in his hands as he tucked it away safely in his pack. The Portable Alchemist's Lab followed suit, a practical necessity for his journey ahead, its compact design a testament to his commitment to his craft even in the face of adversity.
Next on his list was the Handy Haversack, a versatile bag of holding that would prove invaluable in keeping his supplies organized and easily accessible. Trahim haggled with the vendor, his paranoia whispering doubts in his ear as he negotiated the price, his eyes darting around for any sign of deception or deceit.

As the transaction concluded, Trahim's attention turned to the spellcasting service offered by a nearby mage. The idea of imbuing his Haramaki with the power of Vampiric Touch intrigued him, a potent weapon against the darkness that lurked in the shadows. Yet, as he handed over his garment for enchantment, a flicker of doubt crossed his mind, a lingering fear of placing his trust in the hands of another.

With a heavy heart, Trahim pushed aside his reservations, reminding himself of the greater good that he sought to achieve. As the mage worked his arcane magic, Trahim's gaze wandered to the assortment of low-level potions lining the shelves, each vial a potential lifeline in the trials ahead.

Finally, as Trahim made his way towards the exit, his hand brushed against the hilt of his Cold Iron Dagger, a silent reminder of the dangers that awaited him beyond the safety of the marketplace. Despite his paranoia, his unwavering commitment to be someone he could be proud of, to become a beacon of hope amidst the shadows of uncertainty.
