Classes: Scout (Light Calvary variant)/Spelless Ranger going into Hafling outrider

 

Physical description

Short and squat might be the first thing you notice about Bavari, but that wouldn't be a surprise being she's a halfing. Carrying a short bow sized for her and a lance as well as a longsword sized for her again she might appear armed to the teeth just in case. But it was part of her training. Her vibrant red hair was pulled into a ponytail which reached her shoulder blades despite being a warrior. Her green eyes shifted from an intense gaze during combat to ones that showed her intelligence and curiosity. In combat she wore just a plain studded leather armor cut to protect more than show with leather boots on her feet for protection at all times. Out of combat and out of danger she wore more feminine clothes such as white dresses and sandals or tunics and skirts. If you managed to see underneath that she'd probably slap you silly if not sick her riding dog on you for looking. What she did show of her tanned weathered skin did show scars showing that she was not afraid to get hurt. Whether from training or actual combat she was not proud of them nor did they bother her. It was as much a part of her past as her past combats. And she preferred to look to the future more than the past.

Personality

She prefers the company of others and to socialize rather than to be a combatant, but make no mistake she is a proud warrior and competent in combat when mounted. She prefers to stay mounted whenever she can but if that time comes that she can't that's what the longsword is for. She is slow to go into combat when not threatened. For it's easier to kill than it is to bring back someone to life. She enjoys drinking with others when she can though that has gotten her into situations she'd rather not be in or at least remembered how she got there in the first place. She is fiercely protective of her riding dog and takes him everywhere she can possibly take him. After all he has saved her life more times than she can count. She is more of a rural woman than an urban soul thanks to her background. Preferring a place she can put her feet on grass thanks to her training as both a scout and a ranger.

History

The daughter of a ranger and an outrider Bravari's job as a child was almost sealed from the start. Not that she minded too much growing up. She always admired the stories from her mother the outrider and the talent she held with the bow while mounted. Those stories drove her to become one with her own riding dog upon becoming an adult. She knew that the clan had not provided her with one without purpose. She turned out to be just as talented as her mother while mounted. All while receiving training on tracking, hunting and scouting from her father and mother. But one day she realized that the clan was growing too big to support itself. That is when she decided to go her own way. After saying goodbye she left the clan to find herself. After three days travel she found a portal to a strange place she'd never seen. Stepping through she found herself at the Folded Tavern inn. Though she may never see her clan again she has settled in after the last few months.

After a certain exchange in mind. I'm starting to wonder if she's too powerful. If she is I'll drop the lance and spirited charge for something else entirely. She is going to be mainly a mounted archer so if I have to lose those two things to better fit into the game that's fine.

I'm sorry if my public criticism of another player has caused general worries about power level. I probably should have been more judicious there. But I agree with @Rudolf: I don't think this is overpowered just for having Spirited Charge and a lance.

Mounted combat is always a double-edged sword: you can have pretty high damage potential and a second set of hit points and such; but the logistics are often limiting.

A couple minor things:

  • Weight is halved for Small weapons and armor, but unfortunately price is not halved. So, you still need to pay the same base price for your equipment.
  • Wild Plains Outrider is only 3 levels long. I think you meant Halfling Outrider?
  • I think you should only have 54 skill points: 8 (for scout) + 1 (Int) x 6 = 54
  • Battle Fortitude also applies to your Initiative, so don't forget that.
  • You also speak Halfling
  • Your shortbow should have a x3 crit multiplier

Let me know when you've made adjustments
