  1. “Home to an evil cult. There’s a pit, and a deadly animated statue.” Iodás advances, and shifts his halberd into two hands.
  2. “If by ‘friend’ you mean ‘addict who sells other addicts to the blood cult’, then yeah, we get along great. Makes you wonder, what do they -do- with all this blood? Are they storing it in barrels?” Iodás advances, and shifts his halberd into two hands.
  3. Grr, you’re right. 1/1 in two classes would usually be better than level 2 in a single class.
  4. What if I want to be a barbarian who is great at climbing? Would it break anything to dip out for a level?
  5. Off to a great start. Offical moderator comments: 1) Since you’re a goliath, please indicate the sizes of your weapons. That’s the price for a large MW greataxe, but we want to be crystal clear. 2) To make life easier for the judges, can you either provide a link to Tome of Battle (if that’s allowed), or a quick description of your strikes and maneuvers. We don’t need everything, just a hint, like ‘Mountain hammer: bypass DR’. Not all GMs know that book well. 3) What do those flaws do? Unofficial 2cp: I like when the picture is also on the character sheet. ; )
  6. I vote to give the ring to Zalven as well. Between silence and invisibility, he’s got some very reliable stealth. Does multiclassing exist in this game?
  7. Iodás walks up at an unhurried pace, halberd over one shoulder. “I’m not in the mood to argue. Run or die, it’s all the same to me.”
  8. It’s what you get when D&D is created by nerdy wargamers. These are people who discuss whether or not an Italian tercio formation could have dealt with Japanese samurai,
  9. “Damage: minimal” Archon 2-6 blasts the creature with fire Damage taken: -6 Link to sheet:
  10. (As the creature charges in, it triggers a readied action and provokes an AO) Archon 2-6s defends itself with its spear Damage taken: -6 Link to sheet:
  11. When you entered, Brother Didimus nods his head, and then explains: “You are welcome within our Abbey, your Majesty. As are you, sir, but your animal is not. It will be safe if it stays within the grounds.”
  12. The Abbey of the Valorous Knight is a strong-looking building, surrounded by high walls with white flags flying atop the ramparts. The pale moonlight seems to glow off the stones and the sense of strength and purity is almost overwhelming. As you approach the main gate, a solitary priest dressed in shining armor and a white surcoat approaches you. (Brother Sidanus and the other monks are clearly known to him, and they carry their brother inside.) “Greetings, I am Brother Didimus. What is your business at our Abbey?” Brother Didimus leads you through the monastery. The building’s structure is very similar to that of a military complex. Finally coming upon a solid oak door inlaid with a silver lightning bolt striking through a crossed axe and longsword. The brother slams his hand on the doorframe hard three times, and awaits a response. A muffled “Yes, come in brother” sounds from the other side, and Didimus opens the door to the Abbot’s study. Abbot Valentin is seated behind a large desk with a handful of papers in front of him. “Ahh, these are the warriors who found poor Brother Orden, eh? What can you tell me of this event?”
  13. Ok, one grenade each! I vote Zalven gets the ring of invisibility, he’s fragile. Interested in pterodactyl armor?
  14. It’s -our- game. What do you want there to be? The worst thing that happens is that we have to go on some ridiculous quest to get it. ; )
  15. Ok, i’ll buy it, and memorize sleep twice. Ready!
  16. Are most types of armor available for purchase? If so, I’ll rest the night, ask for whatever healing can be spared, and buy some chain mail. I have just enough gold.
  17. The journey to the Abbey takes a bit of work, amd you arrive in the dark of night. The monks are happy to let whomever wishes take a turn helping to carry their fallen comrade. Brother Sidanous says little, but he does carry his corner of the bed without complaint or asking to rotate out. Some of the silence is filled by Sister Arden. “You named the trained badger, Badger? Why? That was a strange choice, Person.” ”Anyway, I think you’ll like the Abbey. It’s not fancy like a tavern, but we have what we need. Mornings usually trade off between spiritual exercise and physical exercise. We’re supposed to accept whatever drills the Master of Arms comes up with, but it’s Thursday, so that usually means swords. You should join us. Oh, practice swords, of course.” she explains with a smile.
  18. they took the Dagonite scaled armor and Magnus’s enchanted blade, Thorn. So, they can probably detect magic..,
  19. Iodás occupies himself with getting dressed, then sets his helmet in place. He slings the shield over his back and stows the scimitar, the halberd was a better weapon for an unarmored man. He would have to do something about that soon… “I thank you all. This helmet is important. And yes, I will not complain if we see the back of this place.”
  20. reminder: In the far left corner you see the familiar gleam of Iodás' magical halberd leaning against the wall. His horned helm is lying on the floor amongst his clothing and gear, yet his armour is missing. In the same corner is another pack, armour, and weapons of someone unfamiliar. Proposal: Iodas’s things to Iodas Dianora’s things to Dianora 2 rusty shields, 2 scimitars to ???
  21. So, potions and oils are a particular type of magic item: they effectively put a spell into a bottle. So, we read the spell descriptions… Greater Magic Weapon Alternatively, you can affect as many as fifty arrows, bolts, or bullets. The must be of the same kind, and they have to be together (in the same quiver or other container). Projectiles, but not , lose their transmutation when used. (Treat as projectiles, rather than as thrown weapons, for the purpose of this spell.) Bless Weapon Individual arrows or bolts can be transmuted, but affected (such as bows) don’t confer the benefit to the projectiles they shoot. Irritatingly, Magic Weapon doesn’t say. I think Faeryl’s suggestion above is excellent. (And Grudge, I’m sorry for the lousy advice about bless weapon earlier. You may sell it back at a full refund if you wish)
  22. Magic items? I vote we start simple: with food, clothes, and bandages.
