Seeing the huge fish appear, Gen quickly grabs his bow and takes a shot towards the mesmerizing bauble on the stalk which had lured someone into the water already. The first shot misses slightly, but as a flickering light starts emitting from close to the body, he swiftly draws the string taut and fires another arrow, this time seeing the target better. The soaring arrow hits right in the middle of the lure with force. 

Gen quickly shouted "We need to attack the body to rescue that guy that was swallowed!"

Still in slight shock from seeing the guy being engulfed in the horrible maw, he then tries putting some distance between the gargantuan fish and himself. He would try to take out its eyes next, but he needed time to get to the right angle and distance before he could take his next shot.

Scene: Umbral Leviathan Gargangoma

The first floor of the Tower consists of silent stone catacombs dimly lit by everburning torches that give off no smoke or heat. The deep waters of the cavernous cistern are shrouded in darkness, massive pillars rising to a vaulted ceiling. You are in a pitched battle with a giant monster of the deeps!

Aerith is in the water and has aquatic compatibility with one free invoke.

Markus is swallowed by the beast and must test Fight or Physique to escape.

Olenna has caught the fins in nets with one free invoke.

Gargangoma is surging! I have four fate points left in this scene and one boost called Shoreline Ambush.

Gargangoma is reeling in pain and you have one free invoke.

 

Your arrow strikes true, piercing the mesmerizing lure and rendering it useless. The beast bellows in outrage, thrashing around, reeling in pain

You can create an advantage to allow yourself or someone else to fly for longer periods of time (casting skill). The difficulty for creating an advantage to allow flight should be around Fantastic (+6). You can also animate the air into a creature capable of following commands (Provoke), starting at a Good (+3) difficulty.

Wrestler: Your unarmed attacks rely on brute strength rather than on technique. You may make such attacks against other humans with Physique rather than Fight.

Chaos had erupted at this fishing competition. Truly what was to be expected in the tower though? Why had she possibly thought fishing in the cistern of the first level of the tower was a reasonable, safe, and mild introduction to tower climbing. This giant fish attempting to eat her fellow fishermen was exactly what she should have expected and to be honest felt far more normal to her. 
 

“Oh! Did this fish just eat that guy!? “, Lyra dropped her basket full of fish and her rod debating on her course of action. Rather than charge in for once she squared her feet and whistled a sharp melody as she held her wyrm bone arm ahead of her the fingers of its massive hand splayed out and wind spiraling and building about it. The temperature dropped as icy wind grew about her and then she let loose a blast of ferocious arctic wind.

  markus.png.b9e7e5961383a1ef633100837b025bb3.png When Markus signed up for a fishing contest, he wasn't expecting the roles to be reversed, with him being caught by the fish. Desperate to get out of his predicament, Markus tried to squirm his way out before he got digested... Markus lacked physical strength, but he was desperate and the beast seemed to be in pain... After a lot of effort and a final push Markus wiggled out of the beasts mouth. This however seemed to greatly anger the beast with insatiable hunger as it watched its meal escaping.

As Markus frees himself, his slime-covered body is flung across the chamber. Surprised by a sudden pause in the leviathan's movements, Olenna looks up from the nets to find all four eyes fixed on her, and its maw descending to swallow her whole...

Gen sees another being engulfed, and quickly draws an arrow on his bow, aiming carefully, unleashing it towards one of the large beady eyes. Missing the eye but hitting between the scales, he quickly swirls around and readies his bow for the next opportunity.

Brute-Force Arcana: When using a magical discipline to Overcome a situation, I can replace Any Skill with Lore by spending 1 Fate Point.

aerithICONSMALL.png.46e43e3bac764c5451dae56a48d37fe0.pngNow in the water aerith takes a deep breath. Yep, the lungs worked. He stares the leviathan down and charges up a ball of necrotic energy. It glows a sickly pale blue as nearby spirits are drained of some of their energy before the blast is fired at the leviathan.

"Gather now spirit's power! Strike down the foe and weaken thee, make them bleed and never flee!"

The blast shoots through the water, shaping itself into a pale spectral trident that flies towards the back of the leviathan and towards its tail. At the last second the leviathan sees the trident and rolls out of the way, staring aerith in the face. Aerith stares back as the energy dissapates and his eyes widen. It already just ate one person, and now it's staring him down too. He's gonna have to think fast and put his skills to the test to get out of this one, especially if he has any hope of saving the person inside before it's too late. With a chill down his back aerith locks his eyes on the leviathan, and prays he'll make it out of the water alive.

    Lyra squared her feet and held her hand in front of her pointing an oversized finger at the giant fish that had just swallowed another of her fellow tower climbers and fishing compatriots. She closed one eye and focused down the line of her hand using her thumb as a sight. She whistled low and slow as air spiraled around the finger condensing and then suddenly as the wizard in the water let lose an attack she too let the focused air loose as it screamed forward leaving an icy mist in its wake as it rocketed towards the fishes ribs.  The ice from her last attack stuck the beats fins together awkwardly and stopped it from moving as quickly as it could have. Allowing what would have been a miss her shot having gone wide to a hit. If only barely.

Luna closes her eyes and focuses a bit more. This time, she is trying to create a very bright and sudden light source in the depths to disorient the fish. Suddenly, a flash of light, brighter than she expected, followed by a powerful sound, shakes the water, Disorienting the fish and probably tossing Olenna around inside of it.

Olenna uses this lurching movement to pull herself free, sliding through a gap in the toothy maw, just before it plunges headlong into the water - chasing down the foolish morsel who dared the depths, where the leviathan reigns supreme.

Gen tries to keep his head cool, taking aim, trying to go for the big eye this time... maybe if it's blinded at least a little, it will have a harder time attacking? He draws the bowstring taut, using the current disorientation of the huge fish to his advantage, and reaching to his mystical connection to the huntress Artemis, asking for guidance on the shot...

Markus shouted out in anger, half from humiliation of being eaten by the fish and the other half not wanting to lose face to another archer in front of Rolia and all the adventurers present.

Having learnt nothing from his past failure but putting all his anger into it instead, Markus shot straight at the disoriented fish's head when it faced his direction.

The arrow hit its mark but seemingly had little effect, perhaps causing some discomfort as a splinter would do for a human. Markus is left standing there like a fool as others swoop in to finish the job.
