Tecumseh Posted March 22, 2023 Clone Share Posted March 22, 2023 You know what I've always wanted on a PbP site? A post that any member of the game could edit, like a wiki. The usual use-case is a post that lists the party loot. Other uses could be marching order, or listing what everyone is working on it during downtime, so the GM can see it centralized. Something quick and easy and centrally-located so that everyone could reference it - and, if needed, update it - in short order. Storing the editing history would be a bonus to help prevent shenanigans.
Basil_Bottletop Posted March 22, 2023 Clone Share Posted March 22, 2023 OGMW used to have a Wiki section. It was such a 'Great Idea' and many of us tried our darnedest to build and maintain our little chunks of it. But it was a mess. There was (is?) even a place to link your game's Wiki to your gamethread. We even had a Moderator for it! It was a disaster. However, this is Baldr and not OGMW...so I say let's give it a second try! Yamazaki Posted March 22, 2023 Clone Share Posted March 22, 2023 I feel like there should be a way to hack the Blog stuff into working akin to a wiki-like thing - allowing approved users access rights to edit and update. Or maybe one of the other features instead.
Suzuki Stumpy Posted March 22, 2023 Clone Share Posted March 22, 2023 Or even just allowing the GM to set edit permissions on Pages so that others can edit them.
jokomaisu Posted March 26, 2023 Clone Share Posted March 26, 2023 @Suzuki Stumpy I like your idea.
Gralhruk Posted March 30, 2023 Clone Share Posted March 30, 2023 I made a hack for vBulletin that did just that - you could specify a list of users that were allowed to edit a particular post. It was great for worldbuilding type stuff that you wanted people to be able to add to.
