Regardless, the half-elf renocked his bow and fired again, now focused on keeping this threat away from his sisters.

"****ing great," Rasan grumbled as she reacted quickly and stabbed the ghoul right in front of her and then took a step back before taking her sling out of her pocket. She wasn't a frontline fighter and her usual trick - having the frontline fighters distract the target while she moved behind them and stabbed their kidneys - didn't work her because undead didn't have kidneys. Well, they had, but it didn't really matter.

As the zombies pile out of the carriage, Keanu fires an arrow into the lead one. It passes harmlessly through the undead flesh. Kaine stabs at one, striking and doing similarly no damage. Rasan's knife strikes home, doing no damage. Willow tries shooting a ray of frost into the undead, missing badly. Keanu's second arrow also misses.

The zombies mindlessly swing at Kaine, failing to connect.

Mor-Rioghain fires of a fan of flame that singes the zombies and the carriage. Surprisingly, the clumsy, slow, awkward things nimbly avoid the worst of the blast.

Dannok runs up, gets hit as he approaches but shrugs off the blow before cleaving the zombie asunder with a mighty blow.

 

Note: any of that may change depending on Naimless' post

A note on initiative: I like to use a sort of semi-block initiative. Players go in groups on whatever side of the bad guys they end up on and can take their turn in any order within their group. Following strict initiative order just slows pbp play way down and averaging the groups initiative sort of punishes those who invested in a high init modifier.

Proverbially and literally wrestling with her shadow, Riina circles around the debris, looking for an opportunity to attack while she tries to calm the inky darkness stuck to her feet. Rasan, having moved back a little bit, now considers her options. She then decides to move to the other side of Kaine and try to attack again. She's quite sure she wouldn't do much damage, but she could distract the critter so Dannok could do the killing blow.

A trap. Whoever took the time to set this up here after ambushing the carriages were expecting company...

 

Grunting, Keanu quickly checked over his shoulder left and right to make sure Riina and Willow are clear away from the danger, then nocked another arrow, pulled back on the string, and let it loose once again.

Kaine and Keanu both connect, doing no damage as far as they can tell.

Rasan's rapier bites deep into the zombie's kidney, drawing a small grunt from the shambling thing.

Willow moves to try and get a better shot with her ray of frost. It doesn't miss as badly as the prior shot, but it still misses.

The zombie's return blow misses.
