The party move on into the countryside and can see the odd shambler here and there slowly moving along the road, as evening begins to fall a ruin seems to be the best place to rest for the night. Getting close Mwende asks Khu "could you be a darling and check the doors for any traps, who knows what this place was" she says in her soft voice.

 

 

During their travel, Khu shared some of the details of what his brother had told him of their destination, of how it was overrun with shamblers the last time he had been there, and his brothers request that if they manage to clear the family home of the undead that there may be the family's wealth inside waiting to be recovered.

At Mwende's request, Khu stepped forward and began to check for any danger.

Ptala followed Khu to see what he was up to, nodding as he began deftly using his thieves tools with dexterous fingers. "Looks like you have that well in hand... I'll just have a look around then..." She said, as she pulled out a rod like tool and smacked it a few times against her palm until it flickered then shone like a tiny torch, giving off decent light for about 5ft. "So where'd you learn to use lockpicks?"

The road to Tjet out in the countryside was a nice scene change after Zosar had been isolated in the temple for so long. It was good to be out in the sun and Zosar was in good spirits during the journey. The divine warrior's gold armor shone often reflecting the divine rays of the sun as he traveled.

Zosar offered his camel for the princess and Au'ra to travel upon during the journey...

When they passed the 'shamblers' and reached the abandoned building, Zosar stood guard and considered the cookie Au'ra had made. It felt pretty hard, maybe he could suck on it. Zosar caught Au'ra's eye and smiled as he put it back in his pouch... for later maybe.

Khu looked over the door and did not see anything untoward, he grabbed his lockpicks and deftly went to work on that rusty lock. CLICK it went as the tumblers aligned and the lock popped open, Khu opened the door BZZZZZ. An electrical bolt shot down his arm causing some numbness that only lasted a few minutes, Mwende cast a spell to heal the damage.

Workshop

Inside it looks like it was once some sort of workshop, a small smithy and some of the tools suggested jewellery or similar function. Moving into this room allows the obsever to conjour up a mental image of people working in this shop, Ptala is like a kid with a new toy, peering into anything and everything. She touches nothing at this time.

 

I will assume that is what Ptala will do, if so please roll perception if not please advise and I will amend my post.

Ahmonet seemed to be caught off guard by the shocking revelation and hopes that this was to protect whatever was inside from the undead, and not rescuers.

"Are you ok Khu?" she asks with honest concern, but finds herself on high alert in case there is danger beyond.

Grimacing at the shock, she shook in sympathy as Khu was electrocuted. "Oops... sorrry, I guess I misse-..." She trailed off as the door opened and was biting her lip and bouncing on her toes. The little gnome wanted to run in and touch all of the things! And probably would have had Kep not immediately clamored in front of her like a protective hound.

Kep gets in front of her because he knows her mannerisms enough to know when she's a danger to herself... they have the same perception and darkvision, so I rolled for him, which kinda works out to effectively be advantage, but I find it funny that he keeps making the checks that Ptala fails.

Neither Kep nor Ptala sees any dangers within, Ptala cannot help but be drawn to a half-finished blade that looked exquisite with some fine etchings on the blade. The hammers bore a makers mark that Ptala recognises, "Gnoa-Um-Heppstine.

"So where'd you learn to use lockpicks?" Khu focused intently on the lock while he replied to Ptala, "I am a trained assassin for the Temple of Anubis. Often those that need ushering towards his embrace try to escape by hiding behind locks and wards. Your beetle is an interesting creature, is it truly ali - Aaargh!"

Pain wracked through every muscle as his limbs contorted involuntarily. Khu breathed a sigh of relief as Mwende's healing touch coursed through his body and mended the damage. "Thank you. Clearly I was not being cautious..." He stood and surveyed the scene inside, then nodded to Ahmonet, "Thank you for your concern. I am fine." The Anubite slowly entered, looking about for any danger, nervously watching Ptala rush about with excitement. "Be careful, if that trap was on the door there is no telling what other dangers might lurk within."

"OoO!" With wide eyes she wandered into the workshop, looking over the blade and tools. "I wonder how much time it would take for me to finish this? These etching too, I hardly Gnoa-um... ahhhaahah... get it? These were made by the great Gnoa-um Heppestine. That's a strange story to tell." There didn't seem to be any other traps, and she was already tucking a few of the tools into her belt, and stuffing some of the other things into Kep's storage compartment. "We should explore more, we can chat later"

Aura feels a bit of sadness for not being able of delivering the Qatayef of quality that distinguish her shop. And before leaving with the others, she tells the kids and the rest of the people to stop at the Qatayef for a treat, should they have the chance of visiting mainland. Then she takes a deep breath a tells herself, It might not be much, but I hope that small offer creates more joy than these "cookies".

Finally, she thanks the men of Ptetep once more for their hospitality and takes the chance to ask Hassan about the “healing tree”…

On their way to Tjet Abdul Hassan, Aura discuses with the party about the healing three. She tells them of her experience with it, about how she was revitalized by it. I took some seeds (or fruits) from it, would these be of any use in the future? Did you know about this tree? She asks in general…

Tjet Abdul Hassan brought Aura memories of her time with the army, maybe it was the atmosphere, somehow it felt different than the previous locations… Or maybe it’s because she was still disturbed by the unsavory Qatayef. She notices Zosar thinking about his “rock bread” and jokes about it. Well, I guess you could use it as a weapon, or as a warning, I can hear that piece bread speaking "please, kill meee, save yourself...”.

Aura’s mood changes when they are about to enter the workshop, and prepares for battle. She was worried about Khu after he got zapped when trying to open the door, but felt relieved when Mwende helped him; Aura pat Khu’s shoulder as a sign of appreciation.

Zosar was enjoying the little chats with Au'Ra, she was a top quality elf girl in the divine warrior's reckoning. Had a dangerous recipe for rock cakes, and Zosar respected that.

'So I should give this cookie to my best friend... at the church of Baast... hmmmmm"

It was an interesting idea, one that he would consider.

Pta seemed to know what was going on in the workshop, Zosar was more interested in standing guard..

He was looking around for someplace for an undead abomination to hide, like a sarcophagus. And it was with a stern look that Zosar grasped his halberd as his yellow radiant eyes darted around the interior whenever they moved from one place to another.

As everyone has looked over the abandoned workshop, she offhandedly says, "I believe this is the shop of a legendary weaponsmith, but it's been over a century since anyone has seen or heard of him."

She runs a finger along one of the fixtures with a thick coat of dust stuck to her fingertip, rubbing her finger and thumb together to remove it.
