The heavily armored wanted to chuckle at Harsa's comment, but sometimes she had a dark sense of humor and wanted to avoid going there.

"Greetings, I am Ramad Khajeel and this fine woman is Harsa Delmare. We have already been introduced to your companions, so would you care to introduce yourself?" he says, directing his question to the straggler.

The Story

The restaffed Scarabs exit the coolness of large temple and step back into the heat of late afternoon. As the members get acquainted with each, the Scarabs wander back to the Tooth & Hookah and their unofficial headquarters.

The tavern section of the Tooth & Hookah is not fully crowded ye, nor has it achieved the nightly party atmosphere. It already has adventurers starting to have an early drink to either celebrate or to forget their woes. Of course the men and women that cater to adventurers have already started staking out their territory for the evening.

spacer.pngHarsa gawked at the market as they passed, taking in the assortment of stalls and vendors hawking goods. True, a lot of it was just equipment, or trinkets, or scams, but there were genuine articles of archeology. At least a few may be related to the arcane arts at least. She pauses to peruse a few on their way over, trying to ascertain if there were any of value or not.

At the Tooth and Hookah, Anhotep asks after, and indeed looks for, Sigrun Firehair. He also looks around for Marren, who had taken it rather badly that she had chosen yours truly, instead of him. It wasn't like his money was burning a hole in his pocket this time around. His ambition was clear, its price tag known, the delay in acquiring just how it was. He recalls Velrian, leader of the Scorched Hand, had asked, right over there, whether any band had been assigned a temple. The Scarabs had then encountered the Scorched Hand in the Temple of Nethys, and killed Velrian, who had been trying to kill them. He ponders he should listen for clues about what the other bands are up to more carefully this time around.

Raze Nae' Aire, Unchained Tiefling Rogue

As the group passes through the market, Raze stops at a fletcher and purchases a handful of common blunt-tipped hunting arrows for a small handful of silver and then hurries to catch up with the group as they enter an inn known as the Tooth & Hookah, which at first glance appears to be a much nicer place than some of the places the Tiefling has slept over the years.

With her tail tucked in and her long raven hair concealing her rather 'unusual' features, Raisin approaches the front desk when the group enters the inn to secure a pair of rooms for the night, paying in gold coin which she stealthily picks from her stash and places in the innkeeper's palm so that none can see. Might need it later, she thinks to herself.

After securing a pair of rooms for the night and pocketing the keys, once again the rogue scurries to catch up to the rest of the party who are already in the tavern room which is not fully crowded yet, a state of affairs which suits the Tiefling just fine while she acclimates to the place. As she walks by Anhotep, the pickpocket stealthily places one of the keys in his hand and whispers, "I got two rooms for the night for the group. Here's the key to one of them."

Selecting a table where she can sit with her back to the wall, Raisin waves the server over and orders three pitchers of the local ale, two loaves of warm bread, salty ham and peppery sausages, fresh butter and blackberry jam, along with a bowl of whatever local fruit is in season, once again stealthy placing the funds in the server's hand as she takes her seat and invites her colleagues to join her, being careful to sit lightly on her tail so it does not give her full nature away.

Description

Long jet black hair pulled up in a bun frames Raze's purple horns, which along with her purple prehensile tail, amber eyes, scaly skin, silver teeth and the occasional light scent of burnt Sulphur clearly mark the lass as a Tiefling. The rogue is wearing a black leather explorer's outfit which hides her magical mithril armor. Other than a fancy rapier and composite long bow. the rogue uses her heavy dark green cloak to conceal the bulk of her weapons, equipment, and other paraphernalia of her profession.

Mechanics

DM - Please let me know the cost of the two rooms for 1 night, the simple meal, and three pitchers of the local ale. I'll subtract the silver for the replacement and 6 blunt arrows.

The Story

The market stalls are overflowing real artifacts. Jewelry, knick-knacks, and anything with artwork from that era seems to be popular with local population. It seems everyone wants a memento from the grand adventure. Every item has a story about the dangerous and tribulations faced by the adventuring company that retrieved it.

"...snatched from the jaws of a mummified crocodile..." " ... jumped a pit filled with poisonous asps..." "...hacked their way through a pack of ravenous jackals..."

Harsa finds that nearly every merchant has at least an enchanted babble or two. Finding anything of value will take some work in this sea of merchant stalls. Of course the merchant shops will have more of the magical items than the stalls.

Anhotep doesn't see any sign of Sigrun or any other members of the Daughters of the Desert (Adventuring Companies). However the Dog Soldiers and Marren can be heard before they are even seen. The halflings and their war dogs have staked out a corner of the outsiding seating area of the tavern. They have just started celebrating their most recent success. Outside is going to be noisy tonight.

A few moments after placing her order with server, Raisin is visited by nicely dressed but rough looking man. He quietly and politely talks to her "The necropolis is hard work. Dangerous too. " He tells her with a smile. You got aches and pains. Maybe you cannot sleep at night. I got the medicine. Just let me know what you need.

Following a short distance behind Anhotep, he only pauses a few moments looking at the various vendor stalls and any special items that might stand out. Nothing seemed to have caught his attention, so Ramad continues to the Tooth & Hookah hoping not to lose track of his new companions.
Once inside, Ramad searches for an open table that offers a little bit of privacy and has enough chairs for his companions, but it seems as though Raze has beat him to the punch as he sees several pitchers of ale, fresh bread, butter, sausages and what looks like jam or spread. His mouth salivated at the last item, he had a taste for sweet things.

Taking a chair, he speaks to Raze, "Do you mind if I have this seat?" he asks, more for affirmation than just to assume it was for him and the whole group.

Anhotep shrugs helplessly at the advice and the offer of help.. "Sigrun, leader of the Daughters of the Desert is my girl. It's not really a company thing... but I'll accept any help I can get.", he replies, stunningly direct and straightforward. He is carrying a magical spear, the company had decided to sell, but hadn't gotten around to doing so yet.
