As the others went in Kuro turned to his son and granddaughter and leaned in to whisper "Take care of yourselves and don't stay for my sake."

Moro grunted "but Father." 

"Moro you are the head Tenshi now. Your journey with me ends here" Kuro stated
Surina blinked "you won't return Grandfather."
"If it is possible yes but we must all accept that I may not return and I don't want you two in danger because you are waiting for me. I will return to home if I am able but don't wait up for me understand." Kuro commanded

Moro stared at his father for a moment then hummed "I understand... take care Father." 

"always do." 

Surina hummed "our prayers are with you Grandfather."

Kuro hummed as he gave a light hand salute then entered into the portal

Upon being warped and coming out into a spot that appeared to be a normal room. Kuro cleared his head for a moment then looked around and hummed as he noted the two rooms. He checked behind and didn't see anything that could have been a connection back. "Figures a one way teleport..." He thought to himself then exhaled "welp so much for going back..."  He hummed "so which way gentlemen and lady."

The use for the glowing rapier's half-sheath was immediately apparent, as its light filled the room. The church had given it to him and he had often considered it a novelty more than anything but it certainly had its uses at times.

"A lit brazier means that someone is probably here. Probably best to search some of the other areas first." Theron said quietly. With Penance at the ready, he quietly moved towards the darkened room, the light from his rapier spilling across it.

Realizing that his companions are not there and not knowing where he was, Zai'el decides its best to follow the man with the light, though his own eyes did not need it.  Still, he was taking action and that's what Zai'el needed at the moment.

Sokleha watches the others proceeding through the strange new rooms. They knew she was present (and even addressed her semi-directly), so she wasn't really certain whether or not attempting to be unseen would be of any benefit to her. After all, they had only just arrived wherever it was they were, and if they could see her, surely those who occupied this area could as well. 

 

Keeping her distance from the others, she reluctantly positioned herself slightly away from the wall, though every inkling of perceived movement, of sound and substance that was completely separate from these other individuals would draw her attention as immediately as it became known to her.

The group proceeded forward into what looked like something of a sitting room. There was a stack of wood ready for a fire to be lit if needed and a couple seats, that were a bit oddly placed, possibly they were in the process of being moved around the room and situated in a new manner, but someone had simply left.

 

Upon rounding the corner of this room, the hall ahead could be seen, and another room was visible. Theron could not see the room in its entirety from his present angle, but he could see a lit fireplace, which shed some light into the area and illumited a chest that was sitting a few feet from to the side of it.

Kuro hummed as some walked into the darker room. Deciding to let the others take the lead he was content to follow but also keeping track of those who were not moving forward. As long as he could keep an eye on both he was cool. "I wonder where we're at exactly..." He commented lowly

Theron glanced over his shoulder and saw the others were slowly following him, then returned his focus ahead of him. Well, at least they are quick on the uptake.

 

"No idea, not exactly what I was expecting on the other side of a portal in the tower." Theron replied quietly. He quietly advanced further down the hall, listening for anything out of the ordinary.

As the group proceeded a bit further forward, the fireplace suddenly game to life! It roared to life and the blaze extended into the room! It pulled back but left a flickering flaming form. It had a face in the center of it that was clearly giving Theron a look that indicated it was not happy that he was here! It danced back and forth and then began to advance!

 

Mechanics

Fire Form got a 12.

Sokleha headed past the angel-man into the room with the furniture and toward the wall. As she makes her way along, her eyes catch glimpses of flickering light, but she's not exactly sure what it is that's past the one currently walking ahead of everyone.

Theron was surprised only momentarily as he watched the fire roar to life. Using the tip of the bolt, he cut his hand and mumbled a few words. The blood vanished and the crossbow suddenly began to glow brightly, covered in strange glowing runes. Theron fired two bolts in the blink of an eye, with a barely noticeable pause as he reached back to draw the second bolt from the quiver. He backed away from the creature uncertain how much damage he had actually managed to inflict.

 

Actions

• Bonus Action: Crimson Rite (Rite of the Dawn) - took 4 damage from activating the rite (grants necrotic/radiant resistance, attacks deal 1d6 radiant, lasts until next short or long rest).
• Attack Action (two attacks vs the Fire Form)
⦒ Attack 1: 16 vs AC for 14 piercing and 2 radiant damage
⦒ Attack 2: 20 vs AC for 8 piercing and 3 radiant damage

⦒ If the Fire Form is hit by at least one of the attacks, its speed is -10 until my next turn.
• Movement (away from the creature)

*Note that Theron's crossbow sheds bright light out to 20 feet.

 Theron fired two bolts and the fiery form wavered, clearly damaged by the magical weapons assault. It advanced up, though slowly thanks to whatever had been done to it. It maneuvered around Sokleha, who could feel the heat coming off of it's body, but it was unable to actually assault her.

 

Mechanics

Both attacks from Theron hit. That's a total of 27 damage and it's speed is reduced by 10.

 

The speed reduction mattered quite a bit because it was only able to move 20 feet and was still too far away from  anyone to attack. It just double moves, staying in Sokleha's threat range as to not provoke an AoO.

 

It has a fiery aura. At the start of it's next turn, anyone adjacent to it will take 1d6 fire damage.

Mechanics: Casting Bless on everyone (except Zai'el)  Gain +1d4 to your attack rolls and saves for up to one minute or until Zai'el loses concentration.

when the fire came to life and lumbered towards the group. Kuro summoned up his power and two energy rays and a spiritual weapon fist shot out of him and went at the elemental

 

Mechanics:
Movement: to current location giving line of sight for Kuro
Action: Eldritch Blast vs Fire Elemental first attack is a 16 to hit that deals 10 force if it hits, second attack is a 14 to hit that deals 10 Force if it hits
Bonus Action: Spiritual Weapon, (little purple white circle) vs Fire Elemental, attack is a 14 to hit that deals 6 damage. 

Reaction: Shield (+5 to AC if an attack is a to hit 18 to 22)
