Game Overview

System: 5th Edition D&D
Themes: Western, Noire, Sword & Sorcery, Horror, Comedy
Starting Level: 2nd Level
Player Count: 4 - 5

Welcome to "Sunset Over the Citadel", a 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragon's campaign set in a modified version of Eberron's Mournland. This campaign is based on the classic "Sunless Citadel" module and has been modified and expanded with many potential side quests and avenues for exploration beyond the original scope. Due to the new setting, expect heavy influences from spaghetti westerns, pulp noir, and a general turn-of-the-century aesthetic that aim to make for a unique twist on an old favorite.

In this game, you can expect:

  • Genre Blend: Experience a thrilling fusion of spaghetti western, pulp noir, horror, and humor, all within the grim and (mostly) desolate landscape of the Mournland.
  • Remixed Citadel: Delve into a classic adventure module reimagined with Eberron twists, where the horrors of the Mourning intertwine with forgotten secrets and lost technology.
  • Danger & Intrigue: Encounter mutated creatures, remnants of warforged, desperate survivors, plainsfolk, tribal lizardken, cults, and more!
  • Expanded Hubtown: Engage in bounty hunting, uncover hidden treasures, and embark In side quests that delve into the local color, lore, and mysteries in this peculiar pocket of the Mournland.
  • Grim IC, (Sometimes) Silly OOC: I can't help but add amusing elements, odd creatures, and sometimes downright ridiculous encounters for the sake of a gag, my personal amusement, or to escalate/deescalate tense moments. Expect a bit of light humor throughout! I encourage you to play it straight but chuckle behind the character sheet! Or give a giggle both ways, whatever!

Setting Vignette

The 'Gigantic', a leviathan of polished brass and shimmering glass, cut a graceful path through the bruised twilight of the sky. Within its opulent belly, laughter and the clinking of crystal echoed, a symphony of extravagance played out against the morose backdrop of the Mournland. From their celestial perch, the passengers adorned in silks and finery observed the desolate landscape below with detached curiosity...

Beneath them, the Sunless Citadel — a legendary landmark; a monument to times long gone — rose from the ashen plains like a skeletal finger cursing the heavens. Its shattered towers, gnawed by the relentless teeth of time and touched by the Mournings decay, whispered tales of forgotten grandeur and mysteries still-buried. Wind whistled through its hidden halls carrying with it the scent of dust, grime, and despair.

Further Eastward, nestled within a surprisingly verdant grove of trees, lay Oakhurst, a tenacious weed amongst the empty plains, a tenacious ember of civilization flickering against the relentless whip of the dusty wind. From the airship's lofty perspective, the town resembled a child's forgotten plaything, its inhabitants mere ants scurrying amidst the ruins of a broken world.

Beyond the town, Westward, the land buckled and contorted, forming what was colloquially known as the Red Scale Canyons. Their rust and red clay walls deeply scarred by the Mourning's touch, and by battles fought centuries ago — remnants of which still remain hidden in their crevices, beneath their rivers, and within the depths of their labyrinthine caves.

Directly below, a lone ribbon of winding, electric steel, the Lightning Rail, winding through a series of bombed-out craters in the planes, splitting the difference between the Canyons and Oakhurst, leading one-way towards Sharn, the City of Towers.

Where are we in the Mournlands?:

  • A small, mostly stabilized region just beyond the mists near Lake Cyre. Oakhurst, the game's hub town, is one of the only pockets of true-blue civilization currently around. Founded only a decade ago, as a product of industrial and magical ingenuity, in an effort to stake claim on the haunted realm, Oakhurst has its share of quirks and problems but is, for the most part, a bustling center for adventurers and entrepreneurs alike to launch their endeavors. A busy frontier town with (unusual) frontier problems, basically.

What about all the spooky stuff?:

  • Fret not, it's still there. Beyond Oakhurst, the land is just as uncivilized, unpredictable, and unwelcoming! Things go bump in the night; temporal, magic, and monstrous anomalies are abound; and, looming over it all is an ancient Citadel seething with darkness.

Warforged? Shifters? Changelings!:

  • Absolutely. Listen for the heavy foot-falls, looks for animalistic traits, and memorize your party member's faces! Not all are friends, not all are foes, but it's better safe than sorry...

Cowboys, Zombies, Robots, and Magic! Also, why is it always dark and raining?:

  • While it won't always be dark and raining, do expect this game to use the desired themes and genres very liberally. We're going for pulp style and flair!

Final Notes

Content Warning (PG-13): Violence, Blood & Gore, Fantasy Racism (No real-world parallels), Slavery, Body Horror, Kidnapping, etc.

Player Buy-In: Eberron, the Mournlands, and especially these themes require a good bit of player buy-in to really sell and make work. Be able to work with the established setting not against it, and try to lean in to all those heavy themes we're looking to establish. Moreover, don't be afraid or resistant to the unusual or unexpected!

Expectations:

  • A bare-minimum post rate of twice a week. Personally, I will be aiming for that and then some!
  • Long-term commitment. This WAS a short little module jaunt. Now it's something much bigger and more grand in scale.
  • Players who can add to the story in meaningful ways, either through conceptualization, interaction, and/or a general interest in the setting and game
  • Be able to adapt to a posting format and stick to it, please. If we establish bold text is dialogue, please don't use italics — it just gets confusing and bogs down an already slow format with unnecessary questions.

House Rules:

  • Stealth Outside of Combat: Players make (Dexterity) Stealth rolls only when someone is in a position to see or hear them.
  • Multiclassing: To avoid powergaming, anytime you seek to multiclass it must be granted approval by me. There needs to be a backstory-specific reason for your multiclassing, too. No Paladin multiclassing unless that is already your main class. That means a Paladin may not take more than 3 levels in another class.

  1. What's new in this game
  2. Guyblue Human Noble Battle Master Fighter IC: “My words,” Guyblue said. | ‘My thoughts,’ Guyblue thought. | My actions . . . Guyblue did some things. He said some things. He did some more things. OOC I don’t always put OOC content in my posts, but when I do, I put it in here. To Whom It May Concern . . . Put Player mention tags, and any particular notes in here.
  3. Guyblue - Human Noble Battle Master Fighter Name: Guyblue Character Concept: [Elevator Pitch] Race, Background, Subclass Class: Human Noble Battle Master Fighter Description: [Description] Your Character’s Plothook: [Plothook] Past is Prologue: [Backstory] Deity: Kiri-Jolith. [Reason] Is Might Right? Justice is absolute and Guyblue is very keen on meeting it out to baddies, especially YOU, you jay-walker!!
  4. Work in Progress The Application (Initial Post) To apply, please create your own character thread in the Applications folder. Please title it “Name LastName (if there is one) - Planned Lineage Background Subclass Class”. E. g.: “John Pullnerson - Half Orc Urchin Circle of the Moon Druid” or “Sir Benedict Fortstrider - Variant Human Noble Battlemaster Fighter”, etc.. Do not hide any text. CHARACTERS have secrets; PLAYERS do not. Picture. Please include an image of your character, no wider than 512 px. I’ll be happy—if your character is accepted into the game—to make a token for you using the image you’ve provided. However, you can make one yourself using the free software, Token-Tool, . Name. Your character’s name, titles, and family name, whatever they may be. Examples: “Grug”, “Benet Hombee”, “Lady Virginia Fairchilde”, etc. Character Concept. Pitch your character in one sentence. Lineage, Background, Planned-Subclass Class. You’re level 2, so very very few of you are going to have your subclass already. Description. Provide a written sketch of your character. What do they look like? Feel like? Act like? Seem like? More is not necessarily more, nor is brevity best. Definitely include skin, hair, and eye color; any distinguishing features (scars, signature clothing pieces) and mannerisms; typical costume. How do they come across? How is their demeanor? Their bearing? If I walked in and saw them from across the room, what would my impression of them be? Would they look gregarious and friendly? Inviting? Or would they look suspect? Scary? Aloof or stand-offish? Bored? Unamused? What sorts of facial expressions do they typically effect? Resting b***h face? An easy smile? Serene calm? If I saw them talking to someone else, would they be standing right up in their grill, leaning into them? Or would they be leaning back? Trying to escape the conversation? Just relaxing? Your Character’s Plothook. You will be traveling to Oakhurst from Sharn for one or more of the following reasons: An airship named the Gigantic went down over the Red Scale Canyons. Aboard the vessel were several prominent aristocrats, industrialists, and various other well-ado socialites from Sharn. Naturally, this has caused quite a stir in the upper-echelons of the City of Towers! Oakhurst is a bustling, turn-of-the-century town located in what is otherwise an ancient, war-torn, and undoubtedly haunted frontier realm, the Mournlands. There is opportunity, riches, and adventure abound for those brave enough to risk life and limb. A cryptic signal has been projected from somewhere deep within the mountains whereupon lies the Sunless Citadel. Warforged, artificers, and the technologically-inclined seemed to have been singled out for the transmission. The Mournlands are a dangerous and unpredictable place. The Lightning Rail that travels to and fro within is specially equipped and boasts a significant security presence. Past is Prologue. What’s your character’s backstory? Who are their family? Their friends? Their enemies? Why did they start adventuring? How did they reach level one? 1–4 paragraphs should suffice. Again, more is not necessarily more, nor is brevity best. Include at least two of the following in your application: Loyalties. A (wo)man's word is his bond out here in the frontier. Most are either loyal to someone, or loyal to themselves — regardless, loyal to something or another in some way. Are you a representative of one of the many Dragonmarked Houses? An employee of an Industrial/Magical megacorporation? Your small town? Kith and kin? Only you? Do tell... Is Might Right? What is your character’s personal philosophy on power and authority? From where does this derive? How is it wielded best and worst? Is might right, and if not, what is? Deity. In Eberron, the divine landscape is a bit more complex. Instead of a single pantheon, Eberron presents the Sovereign Host and the Dark Six, representing the forces of light and darkness respectively. There is also the concept of a Draconic Prophecy, a series of murals and beliefs that are said to foretell the future. Where does your character stand on all of this? Music. Tell me what your character sounds like, musically. You can give me a specific composer, band, style of music, or motifs, but music plays a large part in the games I run. No one’s judging your taste in music here, and I’d be more than happy to help you if you want suggestions. Please provide up to three links to Youtube videos showcasing the music you’ve chosen. If you only mention a genre (“Classic Rock!” or “Rap”), that’s fine, too. You can be as general or specific as you like (“Jimi Hendrix’s Woodstock performance of the Star Spangled Banner”). I’m a composer and I know a bit of music theory, so you can even speak in those terms, too! (“She’s the character equivalent of a tritone.” or “He’s the living embodiment of the Andalusian cadence played in a tresillo rhythm.”) Any Other Images. (Other than your Character) Tattoos; images of animal companions or familiars; clothing items; whatever you like, and however many you feel the need to post.

Vanon was on thin ice with her. He had been dressed down two times already for reasons that he did not really understand. He would have preferred just fighting her for position. A concept of Customer Service kept being repeated, whatever that is. From his perspective he had resolved the security problems without killing anyone. 'What more did they expect?' At least, he would not lose his job before the next stop. Evidently, they did not appreciate people being thrown from the cars, that he knew from experience, so he was safe for now. One of the entourage of the elven head of security detachment aboard the train spoke up, "Oy. You there. Half-orc. The lady asked you a question, business or pleasure. It's disrespectful to ignore her." Vanon thought the comment might put him in her good graces again. "So, what is it? Business or pleasure for you?" The obviously savage bugbear standing over seven feet tall in navy fatigues crosses his dark, shaggy arms over armored breastplate. Beneath a uniform cap, his beady eyes, toothy maw, and decorated, wedge-shaped ears make him look angry all the time and radiate casual violence. He shoulders a standard-issue rifle and wears a standard-issue sword at his waist along with a not-so-standard, notched handaxe. OOC I'm randomly picking on you, because you ignored the elf. Cheers To Whom It May Concern . . . |

Your Character’s Plothook: heading to Oakhurst to seek the fate of his elder brother Vanii Past is Prologue: Chitiin Spur is the third son of Chief Tariic of the RedClaw clan in the Seawall Mountains, a typical Margull clan. His older brother Vanii went missing in the Morning while leading a raiding party on the borders of Cyre. He was provided tutor's and could draw on the experiences of this family but was alone when it was time to demonstrate his proficiency, be it with bow, sword, stealth and such. To demonstrate his readiness to embark on the odyssey to find Vanii he had to lead a raiding party on a nearby clan to count coup. He is accompanied on his quest by his tutor Senen, an elderly, half-blind aunt and her daughter Rekseen who is close in age to Chitiin and her young son Kallaad. Deity: The Mockery Loyalties: Redclaw clan Music: Heroic John Williams Overture
  7. Nyx Nyx relaxes her pose slightly, as the noble Rogue changes tacts. Not entirely, she hasn't forgotten how she heard the woman treat the bartender, but at least a little. "Still, you can't afford me. And my advice is still sound; rather than approaching random travelers on the train, I find it is best to ask a local urchin or tout for information about guides. The scrawnier the better; the fatter touts are more likely to direct you to whoever is lining their pockets the most, rather than whoever can help you," she advises, a bit more warmth in her words. "People here on the train are likely to overcharge, knowing that they are the first people you see and there is a smaller pool of willing hirelings. Trust me on this, or don't; it isn't really my business how you spend your coin. But if you are putting together a expedition, go with the people on the ground, see if you can get a few competing offers, and select the ones that seem most competent, rather than the ones that just seem cheapest or most eager. The bar car on the train is not the place to recruit your expeditionary force, it is just the place to note who is going where you are going, and possibly find friends you want to band together with, rather than employees you want to hire." At the half-orc's expression of interest, and the bugbear's exorbitant offer, Nyx raises an eyebrow, but remains silent. She meets Rogue's eye and gives a half-smile. "My name's Nyx," she says, by way of introduction to any who seem to be paying the changeling that isn't throwing gold around any mind, "The name stands for Not For Hire." OOC Current appearance: Purple haired elven-form woman, pale skin with black tiger-stripes. Dark black eyes, without whites or obvious iris. Clearly a changeling. To Whom It May Concern . . . Put Player mention tags, and any particular notes in here.

  9. Two very different concepts. One is a light and stealthy ninja, the other tough and smash the hulk ;)
  10. Vesstan is finished. Let me know if you need me to change anything, but he is good for final review, otherwise. Thank you for the opportunity and I hope to get in. This is actually my first Paladin in 5e.
  11. it looks like your character image is based on Ironman. I based Gromm's on the Hulkbuster armor! :)

At Ellara’s entrance, Bovik studies the new entry to the conversation and is very curious about this warforged. He has never seen one prettied up before. Not to mentioned this one was definitely female. Others he had encountered did not appear male or female you just kind of assigned them a sex based on how their voices sounded. Pardon me, I don wish to be rude or anything but I am curious. Are you as delicate as you appear? Or are you as tough as other warforged, just look more delicate? When Rogue walks about and inquires about the cost to hire him. Well, for you I would say 15 gold a day, plus 5 extra gold for every time I end up having to defend you and an equal share of any loot found while I am in your service. He gives her a nice toothy smile, knowing that those prices are quite high, but feels she was asking for it with her haughty entrance into their discussion. Truthfully it is more about her noble attitude then what she actually said, him not being overly fond of rich folk. In response to Lucille’s comment about not being able to afford him, but feeling safer if he came. Ah, don’t worry about it. It sounds like fun. Help me make sure I have the appropriate supplies before we head out and give me an equal share of anything found and we can call it even. He reaches his long hand forward and gives her hand a small, reassuring pat, as he gives a slight sideways glance and smirk in Rogue’s direction waiting to see if she bites or not. In response to several people discussing if the crash site could be where the signal is coming form he jumps in. Actually from what I am hearing the crash site and signal or in two different locations. I heard the ship crashed in a place called the Red Scale Canyons and, again, from what I have heard, the signal was coming somewhere in the mountains near some old ruin. Once we arrive, one of the first things I am looking for a is a map of the area which depicts the canyons and the mountains in regard to the town. It is not wise to go wandering around in a area that you don’t know some of the landmarks. When the Elven woman walks up with her armed escort and asks about their reason for going to Oakhurst. He gives a tight smile and replies, Both I hope. When Gromm makes his entrance. Bovik catches sight of the large warforged as he enters the car and walks up to them Now that is what one expects a warforged to look like! In response to Liam’s inquiries. Ah yes, my name is Bovik and I’ld give you the same offer I gave to Lucille. Help get properly supplied and give a fair share of the loot. Overhearing Rekunaar’s crude comment about alcohol and Rogue’s reference to it. Bovik raises his glass of whiskey with a big grin and calls out loud enough for Rekunaar and his group to over hear. Hears to the good “Piss”! And then downs his drink with a satisfying exhalation after swallowing it. OOC Hope I did not leave anyone out. To Whom It May Concern...

"But if there is need for a tracker, I'm one of the best around.", he doesn't say this boastfully, just as a statement of fact. He chooses to ignore the officers for now. The price for a Coach ticket had been outrageous and he figured that privacy should be part of what was purchased. The giant warforged with his intricate carving and the smaller, more graceful one caught his interest for a bit. He had only ever seen their kind when he travelled to Zarash'ak with his father and none of them were as well made as these two. He sways to the rhythm of the train and sips his tea. OOC

The travel had been cumbersome on her mental health as well as on her body, it would not do to allow herself to appear unbecoming to such an audience willing to travel to the frontiers without regard for their safety. Her mission was tantamount, navigating these waters had obviously riled her up. Perhaps an apology to the bartender would warm her to them without being a meaningful gesture. The thought drifted through her mind for a moment before she decided it would be too great a sacrifice, his lack of knowledge had been a true insult to her after all. Instead, she simply opted to move onward in conversation with the eclectically displayed changeling whom it had appeared she had insulted with her abrupt entrance to the conversation. "Ah, I did not mean to infer your services come cheaply, obviously natural talents and confidence should be rewarded, we live in a meritocracy after all. I have a keen eye for those with potential, and perhaps I was overeager in my approach. Though it has been a woefully long trip, a reminder to maintain ones propriety is always appreciated. I go by Rogue, though it is not my profession" The art of apologizing and expressing gratitude without saying anything was one of her mothers favourite lessons. Whether or not it was a transparent display was irrelevant, moderating her approach going forward would be a requirement, as she had already shown her hand briefly in engaging this ensemble, a foolish misstep that she could not afford to repeat. Her attention is caught by the red head and the pretty doll-like Warforged as the Lord of Blades is brought up in their conversation, a small matter, but one she finds most intriguing. A visionary if she had ever heard of one, and though his preaching and beliefs did not matter to her, after all, what use were the thoughts of a machine, she was remarkably envious of all he had attained. What the Lord of Blades had managed had inspired her own methods in a way, having built up a cult around itself, attaining followers that would lay down their lives for it. Inspirational. Should the signal be truly a way to connect to the legend itself, it would be a lead worth investigating. When the large cat interjects, offering his own hand, she 'lets' a small smile slip. What she had always enjoyed about the Tabaxi was that even in death, they were still useful as remarkably comfortable, fashionable, and importantly, weatherproof clothing. "I may have accidentally begun an unintended bidding war among friends, my intent was not to offer, simply to inquire, as I do believe it is important to discern the quality of the... 'piss'... as they say" The crass word leaves a bad taste in her mouth, but getting the point across was more important. When the officer enters the cart flanked by guards, the same tension she had just managed to shrug off once more feels as though it is weighing down upon her. The steely eyes of the Elf remind her of her mother, and her jaw tightens in a manner the woman no doubt noticed. Her tone is conversational, and she attempts to maintain an air of informality, but Atslah is no stranger to the mannerisms. The red haired woman answers the question in a manner she would find suspicious if she were standing in the place of the Elf, followed up by an answer from her clan member, which would hopefully open their conversation up to revealing more information about these reports she mentioned. Her violet eyes follow the direction the large cat indicates, falling once more upon the changeling. The value of it seemed to keep increasing before her eyes. OOC Sorry I was being dramatic after my last post, I reread it this morning and couldn't stomach the thought. I've rejiggered a little bit to be a little more palatable (for my own sake), sadly she's still a karen, but in a way I think I can actually enjoy playing. Everyone has such cool characters, I'm excited to interact To whom it may concern ,

These special tools include the items needed to pursue a craft or trade. Proficiency with a set of artisan’s tools lets you add your proficiency bonus to any ability checks you make using the tools in your craft. Each type of artisan’s tools requires a separate proficiency. Mason’s tools allow you to craft stone structures, including walls and buildings crafted from brick. Components. Mason’s tools consist of a trowel, a hammer, a chisel, brushes, and a square. History. Your expertise aids you in identifying a stone building’s date of construction and purpose, along with insight into who might have built it. Investigation. You gain additional insight when inspecting areas within stone structures. Perception. You can spot irregularities in stone walls or floors, making it easier to find trap doors and secret passages. Demolition. Your knowledge of masonry allows you to spot weak points in brick walls. You deal double damage to such structures with your weapon attacks. 1 Letter of Introduction from Your Guild 1 Traveler’s Clothes; Adventuring gear; 2 gp, 4 lb.; Source: PHB, page 150. Made of interlocking metal rings, chain mail includes a layer of quilted fabric worn underneath the mail to prevent chafing and to cushion the impact of blows. The suit includes gauntlets. The wearer has disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks. If the wearer has a Strength score lower than 13, their speed is reduced by 10 feet. 1 Whip; Weapon; Martial weapon, melee weapon; 2 gp, 3 lb.; 1d4 slashing - finesse, reach; Source: PHB, page 149. Available in the SRD and the Basic Rules. Finesse. When making an attack with a finesse weapon, you use your choice of your Strength or Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls. You must use the same modifier for both rolls. Reach. This weapon adds 5 feet to your reach when you attack with it. This property also determines your reach for opportunity attacks with a reach weapon. 1 Shield; Armor (shield); 10 gp, 6 lb.; AC +2; Source: PHB, page 144. Available in the SRD and the Basic Rules. A shield is made from wood or metal and is carried in one hand. Wielding a shield increases your Armor Class by 2. You can benefit from only one shield at a time. 1 Light Crossbow; Weapon; Simple weapon, ranged weapon; 25 gp, 5 lb.; 1d8 piercing - ammunition (80/320 ft.), loading, two-handed; Source: PHB, page 149. Available in the SRD and the Basic Rules.Range. A weapon that can be used to make a ranged attack has a range shown in parentheses after the ammunition or thrown property. The range lists two numbers. The first is the weapon’s normal range in feet, and the second indicates the weapon’s maximum range. When attacking a target beyond normal range, you have disadvantage on the attack roll. You can’t attack a target beyond the weapon’s long range. Ammunition. You can use a weapon that has the ammunition property to make a ranged attack only if you have ammunition to fire from the weapon. Each time you attack with the weapon, you expend one piece of ammunition. Drawing the ammunition from a quiver, case, or other container is part of the attack. Loading a one-handed weapon requires a free hand. At the end of the battle, you can recover half your expended ammunition by taking a minute to search the battlefield. If you use a weapon that has the ammunition property to make a melee attack, you treat the weapon as an improvised weapon. A sling must be loaded to deal any damage when used in this way. Loading. Because of the time required to load this weapon, you can fire only one piece of ammunition from it when you use an action, bonus action, or reaction to fire it, regardless of the number of attacks you can normally make. Two-Handed. This weapon requires two hands to use. This property is relevant only when you attack with the weapon, not when you simply hold it. 20/20 Crossbow Bolts (20); Ammunition; 1 gp, 1½ lb.; Source: PHB, page 150. Rekunaar nods his approval and the bartender pulls out his tea-making apparatus. Rekunaar watches the process with some interest and holds a porcelain cup of tea after a few minutes. He steps away from the bar and moves back down the aisle to an empty chair. He places his backpack under the table and sits down, gently placing the teacup and saucer on the table. He nods at the tiger-striped Tabaxi and the similarly purple-striped changeling, the red-haired human woman and the brown-haired human man and at the bugbear. "There might be stranger folk on this rail tonight, but I'd not bet on it. I'm Rekunaar.", he says with a small smile and sips his tea. “Ah, a man after Little Spring’s heart!” he replies. “Little Spring sees you, too, appreciate the better things in life than mind-numbing swill. Connisures of the stuff claim this or that region makes the best piss, but piss is piss regardless of who leaked it! Come, join us, no? We’ve an interesting conversation about the Gigantic.” "I know you said you are returning home, to chop wood in the frontier, but why? There have to be higher paying jobs in the city, and one big loss shouldn't be the end of the fighting career. Are you... running from creditors, perhaps? Big ones, that break legs?" She looks again at the giant tabaxi fighter. "Well, you probably don't need to worry about that. What makes running halfway across the continent seem like the answer, I wonder, Little Spring?" “Ah, but Little Spring must return to his roots,” he said. “Little Spring must be reminded of what it is that is important, no?” He sipped his tea. “It sounds like Little Spring is being offered a job—if not a place by your side on an adventure to explore the Red Scale Canyons and this unfortunate wreck. Little Spring would be honored.” "The crash site is also my destination, if there are services to be negotiated, I would hear your price" "Well," she says, frowning slightly at whatever she sees, "I can already tell you can't afford me. You might have more luck trying the urchins and touts at the platform when we stop, they can probably direct you to a guide in your... Price range." Little Spring looks between the two women and wonder’s at Nyx’s hostile response to the Rogue. “Little Spring feels like he is missing something,” he says carefully. “What might that be, and how much are you willing to pay? Little Spring has the skills if you have the coin.” "True tragedy, what happened to the Gigantic. I should hope none of you knew any aboard, given the reports." “Little Spring knows no one aboard the Gigantic, but Little Spring’s new friend here,” he says, indicating Nyx, “Seems to have known some of the passengers.” OOC — To Whom It May Concern . . . , ,
  17. Nyx Nyx glances up when the guards ask their question. "Yes," she comments, distracted more by her conversation than whatever the heavily armed and armored guardsbeings. "Business or pleasure, very sad tragedy, hope you don't know anyone aboard," she waves, vaguely. "The answer is yes." OOC Current appearance: Purple haired elven-form woman, pale skin with black tiger-stripes. Dark black eyes, without whites or obvious iris. Clearly a changeling. To Whom It May Concern . . .
