  1. What school does Allustan Neff specialize in, if any? I figure an apprentice of his would probably have the same specialty or at least favor those sorts of spells.
  2. Hi! Realized that my username overflows on the new site, so I'd like it changed to Void_VVitch to match my Discord handle. Done!
  3. This looks to be a really interesting game! Right now, my main idea is a fear-based child of Hel, but I'm not entirely sure how to go about it. I'm mostly torn between whether or not to play a living or undead character. Would an undead hero even be acceptable?

  6.    Name: Caitlin Monroe Concept: No-nonsense mercenary mage with a heart of gold. Metatype: Human (Awakened) Background: Corp Security Edges: Spellcaster, Educated Foci: Soul Sight   Description Appearance WIP Personality WIP   Background Information Born to a couple of yuppies living in Capitol Hill, Caitlin had a pretty comfortable upbringing compared to most people. Of course, that was until she Awakened. After that, her parents ended up shelling out most of their spare cash on tutors and materials to keep her from blowing herself up. She took well to it, however, even earning a scholarship to Seattle University. Her parents definitely wouldn't have been able to afford tuition without it. Unfortunately, even with the scholarship, she never finished school. Just before graduating, Caitlin's mother fell ill and could no longer work. To support her family, she took a job with one of the local corps: magical security for DSI.   Caitlin spent almost a decade working security for Dassurn Securities and Investments. When she ended up leaving, it was in quite the state. A few months ago, a middle manager at Federated-Boeing dropped a request on her: let his group of Shadowrunners into the Downtown office, and he'd pay out enough nuyen to cover her mother's treatments for two months. With her DSI pay just barely covering things, this deal was quite the unexpected gift. Of course, it also meant that she'd never work security in Seattle again, but Mr. Middle Manager had a response to that. He put Caitlin in contact with a fixer who'd be able to set her up with jobs. Finally, a real use for all those range hours and her mostly-finished Magical Studies degree.
  7. Reserving this second post for my bookkeeping and such. I like to keep my character creation process as transparent as possible.
  8. Name: Rowan "Ro" Rosznar Concept: Illegitimate scion turned family asset. Lineage: Half-Drow, Half-Human Background: Courtier Alignment: Lawful Good Class: Conjuration Wizard   Description Appearance Rowan stands around 5'10"--well above average for a half-elf--with a build that suggests a history of manual labor. Much of her physical appearance was inherited from her Drow ancestry, with a few notable exceptions. Her resting expression is undeniably Rosznar, for one. Likewise, people that know him say that she has her father's eyes.   In terms of dress, her appearance befits her family's wealth: crystal clear spectacles and clothing of the highest quality (usually in a masculine style). Though, as a bastard, she isn't permitted to wear the dark blues of the "trueborn" members of the house, Rowan's choice of dark clothing nevertheless fits her family's aesthetic. Personality For the most part, Rowan is a calm, assertive woman. She is driven, without being domineering, and efficiency-oriented without being uncaring. Perhaps as a result of her status as a noble bastard (one with Drow blood, at that), she places great value on equality and fair play. Above all else, she believes in giving everyone a chance to prove themselves.   However, her entire energy tends to shift when Rowan is around nobles or other societal leaders (generals, townmasters, etc.). Her spine becomes less solid than a gelatinous cube and her serenity is replaced by an anxious energy that would make a tiny dog blush. As such, it should come as no surprise that she prefers to spend time with common folk and others who are situated below leaders in the social hierarchy.   Background Information Backstory As a scion of a recently un-banished Waterdhavian noble house, Rowan should have had an easy upbringing, but she was born the "wrong" way. Rowan was born as the result of a dalliance between Morn, a son of House Rosznar, and...a Drow smuggler in Skullport. Under normal circumstances, her connection to the family would have been disavowed and Rowan left with her mother, but her father wouldn't allow it. He was fine with the Rosznar leaders keeping him away from the mother, but he wouldn't be separated from his precious baby girl. As a compromise, Rowan's mother was given a tidy "gift" of gold in exchange for her silence, while Rowan herself was put in the care of the family's servants; close enough for her father to visit, but far enough for the actually important members of the family to ignore.   For most of her childhood, Rowan lived as a servant for the Rosznar family, largely concerned with matters outside of the manor. Of course, Morn made sure he always had time for his little girl. He visited once a week at the minimum (usually just for the length of a meal), but more often than not shirked his duties to the family to spend time with Rowan. During puberty, however, Rowan started to manifest minor magical powers as a result of her Drow heritage. Where her father saw it as just a little novelty, others saw it as an opportunity for profit. Few members of the family had any familiarity with the arcane, after all, so having one trained in the Weave would be quite the asset. Morn and Rowan were offered a bargain: if Rowan would undergo training to become the family's resident mage, she would be recognized as a member of House Rosznar.   From there, Rowan had to play catch up. With her being sent to study as a legal member of the family, she needed to know how to represent it properly--as a member, not as a mere servant. Her education in the ways of etiquette was as comprehensive as possible for lasting just a few years. Plot Hook WIP   Additional Details Not sure which ones to add yet, so this is also a WIP.
