Herbert Anderson (The Accountant)

Herbert took a seat and took a moment to look over the man displayed on the monitor. "I object to the term accomplices, as it has certain legal implications...He began carefully. "...but you're right. My former clients and I have certainly had an interesting morning."

"It's hasn't even been half a day so it's difficult to say just how well we are adjusting. This place isn't quite what I was imagining. But I suppose that's to be expected, there's not much information available about the Gaddis SuperMax Penitentiary on the outside after all."

"So Dr. MacAllister, or do you prefer Warden MacAllister? What is it you'd like to to find a reasonable person to talk about?" He asked, with a slight smirk. "Are you looking for someone to help you with your taxes?"

“He can be offended, I do not care. No one asks if he has offended -me-“ Oleg steps closer to the Asian woman to talk. “You make me happy and sad. It is good to see you, but I am am sorry that you are here. How long are you in?

Zara remained quiet as it seemed Mammoth knew this woman, and given his language that he often shared with Scyla, she put her money on her being Korean.

THE ACCOUNTANT:

MacAllister smiles, "'Dr.' is fine and I'm pleased you're finding your way at Gaddis. The reason I wanted to meet with you was to simply touch bases. Confinement can be difficult even traumatic for many people. What can make the experience even worse is let's say the company you keep. All the inmates here are convicted felons. But some here are more dangerous than others. Do as you will but I think it would be ideal if you kept your distance from inmate Isaacs also know as 'Granny'. We've gone out of our way to help her but nevertheless she intermittently has periods of anti-social behavior. It's been an ongoing issue for some time now. Granny can get inside your head if you let her and I assure you that is not where you want her. Many among the Gaddis community have experienced her 'problems' and it causes unrest across the entire facility. If I were you I'd just stay away."

Dr. MacAllister pauses and smiles again as if he was finished then asks, "What has Granny told you?"

MAMMOTH & SIREN:

The woman puts her hands out as if exposing herself, "You know me better by my true name: Motherboard. Along with my family Cyber Tribe I've tried to stay busy burning away the deep webs of deception that confuse the masses. For my trouble, I was tossed in here. But ...." She looks around slowly then back at Mammoth, "Despite the circumstances it is good to see you again Mammoth. If you want 'information' let me know. Now I'll go chat with Mueller." Motherboard sighs and exits the area escorted by several Asians including another woman.

"Oh? You don't know what she told me?Herbert asked, feigning surprise. "Interesting. I had naturally assumed that we were all under total surveillance. It seems like such a waste not to have listening devices in the gaming tables."

"Well, Doctor, she told me quite a few things, but nothing that seemed worth bringing me in here to ask about it." Herbert answers honestly. Meredith hadn't said anything that seemed remotely worth keeping secret. "Maybe you could be a little more specific about what you're looking for? First she mentioned that she liked card games and that her name was Meredith. Then she claimed that most inmates avoided her once they'd been here a while and that she's in here because she can't control her powers. She also claims to have been granted 'Trustee' status with the ability to assist with prison administration, which to me seemed very unlikely but I didn't bother to call her out on it. She then said how much she liked the desserts here and tried to argue that what she had told me was worth me giving her my next two portions. Your guards brought me in here just as I won a game of Rummy against her."

THE ACCOUNTANT:

MacAllister still as stone stares at Herbert for a few long seconds then smile, "That's our Granny. The consummate conversationalist. Well, Mr. Anderson I hope you have an uneventful time here at Gaddis and a large part of accomplishing that would be to heed my earlier advice. She's a troubled woman and a gentleman such as yourself does seem the type to enjoy trouble. Thank you for your time and good luck."

The screen goes blank and the Guardbots enter to escort Herbert back to the main cellblock facility.

THE INSURGENTS:

Day one inside Gaddis SuperMax falls into a routine of meals (lunch and dinner) followed by leisure time as the revolutionary crew learns their way around the multiplex. Eventually the time comes for Lockdown and all inmates wander back to their cells another day closer to their release. As the cell doors are secured the cell lighting goes out leaving each inmate in muted darkness.

Zara watched in silence at the short exchange, her curiousity piqued enough that when Motherboard left, Siren cast a glance in Mammoths direction with a 'what was that about?' look on her face.

Whatever answer she got, Siren soon headed off back to her cell as the day came to a close. Now that she had a room all to herself, Siren lay sprawled across her bed, gently whistling a soft tune to herself as she lay there, hands behind her head, eyes staring at the ceiling before her.

This had just been the first day. Already Siren's mind was filling with ways that they would soon wrest away the oppressive bondage of the state and return to the nation at large...and this time...well...there would be no next time.

Herbert Anderson (The Accountant)

Over the course of his first week, Herbert did his best to lie low. He followed instructions, didn't cause any problems, and tried to de-escalate potential conflicts with his words rather than fighting. He didn't seek out Granny, but he also didn't avoid her. In short, he behaved like a model prisoner.

He spent most of his time quietly observing the prison routine, looking for patterns and opportunities. Anything that could potentially be exploited to gain a higher degree of freedom.

For what is was worth Scylla perked up once the lights went out. The night being her preferred time anyways moving from her contemplative spot to start looking around the cell she was in inch by inch, using her finger and nails to search for any small crack of seem as she did. Not that she thought she would find anything mind you, no she was sure that other inmates had already tried that, she was more doing it to get the general feel of the entire place more then anything.

Oleg will lie in his bunk, and read his book. Apparently, ‘the Wretched of the Earth’ was an update to Marx, but Oleg wasn’t sure Marx could be improved upon. Still, it would be useful to read, if only to refute it.

Do I remember anything about the Asian woman from earlier?
