Arwi Saen Half-Elf Mercenary

HP: 12/12|| FP: 12/12|| Conditions/Effects:

Arwi returned from his errand and made his way back to the others. He tossed a bag of coins on the table where the others were gathered.

"I found a place that would buy that hobs blade. We didn't have any use for it that I could tell. Didn't get much but here is your cut", he said.

"I got some refreshments coming too.", Arwi added.

-----------------------------------------------

OOCThe bag contains 50 pieces of silver. All who helped defeat the hob get an equal share. Figure it out.

A pitcher of beer and a pitcher of wine will be delivered after a short wait.

With the harrowing skirmish of the previous day behind you, the sight of the morning sun is a relief despite your weariness. After a quick breakfast, you join Amira behind the Drunken Dragon in a small alleyway with tarps and banners above, making a sort of outdoor room. She is standing next to Rindo while talking with a strange man.

Her wagon, driven by the teamster she is speaking with, has just arrived. She must have sent a runner urchin to the Dirty Dog to have it sent over. Apparently, she trusted them with her cargo. A new ox has been hitched to the wagon to replace the one killed by the Goblins yesterday. There is some time of rearranging some cargo on the wagon, she pays the group the remaining coin she owes them from the previous work and promises more upon reaching their next destination and delivering Rindo to Kinmeet in the south.

“All right then, let’s get this done with,” Amira says. She reshuffles some boxes and crates in the wagon, then gestures for Rindo to climb into the space created, ready to pile goods on top of him until he can no longer be seen. “Right, let’s get going,” she says. The rest of the group either sits on the wagon, hangs off the back, or walks alongside, protecting it as it makes its way through the already crowded streets of Rookroost's morning markets.

OOC

Amira has paid everyone (except Rindo... he's paying for this! and Snowbelle, she's new and hasn't worked for her yet!) the additional 150$ in gold (10$) and silver (1$) coins. Feel free to mark this down on your character sheet if you want to keep it, otherwise, we'll assume you spend it on frivolous things like snacks and entertainment and whatnot...

If anyone wants to do any real buying of gear or such, you can go into the market before Amira hits the road. Rindo will not be able to do any buying as he's hiding.

Arwi again took his place along the left side the wagon by the back wheel so that he could watch the entire side. He held a new club in his hand. Occasionally, as the wagon passed through the streets and eventually out of the gates, he had to shake or point it at beggars or potential thieves to discourage them from coming too close.

Previous to their departure, Kelarith prepares his room for the ritual to keep Rindo obscured. He briefly considers burning his bed sheets and using the ash for use as a symbolic journey through the underworld, but decides against as too much work and likely trouble for a meager benefit. He draws out a simple circle using wax from one of the room's candles, flanked by an eye and a hand, symbols of his master's power. Painstakingly, Kelarith weaves a silken thread around the optic nerve of a goblin's eye, both items that he had picked up that afternoon. That the goblins that supplied their eyes were enemies was of great benefit for hiding from those that wished harm on the ritual's recipient, and the silken thread focused an purified the ritual's intent. Finally, he pricks his finger, dripping blood onto the eye, staining the iris an angry red. The basics set up, Kelarith snuffs out the last candle and performs the ritual first on himself, both as a sort of practice run, 'do try not to make a fool of yourself doing the one thing you profess to be competent at,' and as a way to keep himself out of harm's way in the event a conflict arises despite his precautions.

When Rindo arrives, he repeats the ritual, placing the prepared 'amulet' around Rindo's neck, "Keep this under your shirt, close to your heart, and so long as you don't do anything to draw attention to yourself, it should be significantly more difficult for those seeking you to actually find you. When the eye withers and falls from the thread, the protective benefit is ended."

As the company heads out, Kelarith takes up a position at the very back of the wagon, face obscured in the depths of his hood and keeping a wary eye on those moving up from behind.

OOC

Rolls done in previous post (unless you want them re-done). Margin of success on those rolls is the penalty that observers take trying to find the ritual's beneficiary. Also, they get to wear a gross eye necklace for the day. You're welcome!

GM NOTE: No, the previous rolls are fine. Cool, cool, cool.
