Orientation (Part 1)

Nazira feels the rhythm emanating from the neogi's mind, but misses the rhyme...the eel-spider's chosen swaying, manipulative words were ill-chosen. The focus on mind dropped the paladin's guard of her body, allowing the alien poison to rapidly multiply within her bloodstream. She shudders and gags in a swoon, unable to focus on the melee.

The Prince turns from courtly enchantments towards the raw forces of life in an attempt to snuff out these newborn menaces. The spell seems to work at first, the hatchling turning to rotten tones of sour orange and brown. But with a few vibrant, furious movements, it shakes off this spoiled layer of albumen that has taken the blow and absorbed the full burst of necrotic energy. Undeterred, Celsior strides forth as a circle of shimmering blades seems to materialize around his chest.

The slimy swabber who definitely doesn't eat pencils for breakfast furiously churns and undulates in a variety of aggressive shapes (some holding mop-like objects formed of Bacon's best shadowstuff). The swarm dodges and parries as if reading each others minds, communicating advantages clandestinely as the wooden pole prods and clacks space-hamster rug in the teeth. However in one final moment of clarity, an extra large pseudo-appendage spikes forward with unusual length...puncturing straight through the injured neogi's exoskeleton with a *pop*. One more slain.

Lou chooses this moment of confusion among the horde to re-emerge, this time streaking a low altitude shot nearly parallel with the ground across Mirt's room and clipping the big one in the neck. The Old Wolf for his part continues to display his uselessness as his little ankle gets tangled in the bedcovers as he makes his pants-less charge forth.

From the cold shadow in the corner comes a pathetic, strained *squawk* as Popsicle the Daring launches a 100:1 scale, 5,000 part, pewter replica model Nautiloid from the luxurious decor...amazingly striking one of the hatchlings squarely in the face with its jangle of immobile tentacles.

Like school-children given too many sweets, the neogi hatchling have an abundance of energy able to transform into acrobatic leaps and large radius arcs of their thin knifes for legs. Celsior simply has no time for such antics, brushing them aside effortlessly. Yahs likewise seems to have adapted her roiling weight distributions to match the coordinated attacks, holding the line without another scratch. But as Lazuli performs the last ritualistic motion of her healing prayer, a hungry muncher finds an easy lunch...cutting through the soft fabric of her red cadet uniform with terrible slash. Lazuli unconscious I believe.

"Dab blasted eel-spiders! Quick, throw her in the wardrobe!" Mirt shouts, not making much sense but definitely talking about Lazuli.

Popsicle starts to act even stranger than usual, sliding across the ground in a waddle-less waltz as if pulled by some unseen puppeteer. He seems to be moving towards the fireplace...dynamite stick at the ready.

Round 3:
Celsior, Naz (poisoned), Yahs (7/9), Louis, Lazuli (0/11), Chaeek <-- UP
Uninjured Neogi Hatchlings (x5), Injured Neogi Hatchling, Injured Fierce Neogi Hatchling

(AC 11, hp 10)

That was a lot of nat 20s there...jeez. Lazuli, please make a DC 10 constitution save with advantage against poison. Lazuli drops unconscious.

I'll go ahead and resolve that sword burst. I had to think about it grid style a second, but yes you can get all of them without hitting any allies since many are sharing squares. Result: 3 saves, 4 fails for 4 damage.

A scintillating array of blades, one of the style from each and every epoch of Astral Elven dominion rapidly blossomed on the far side of the crate...catching the majority of the creatures off-guard as the impossibly nimble elf dashes away in a blink.

For a few moments, Yahs actually feels herself enter the state of zen she read about in her book. Her body forming and reforming with intuitive anticipation of the enemy strikes. The feeling of peaceful destruction continues to flow through the ectoplasmic fluids of her very being and in a moment she feels the resounding *thud* of her mop slamming into one of her several attackers. She does her best to hold on to her battle mind, but in grasping for excellence she the calm slips away like a lover in the night. Her follow up punch is not nearly as elegant and smooth.

Stepping into the dissipating embers of the elven blades is Yahs; mind and body centered she crashes a pair of deaths as a living wave upon the pungent swarm. The fierce looking one falls, and few notice Popsicle coming back to his senses across the room. As the wounded hatchlings calculate their next moves, Lazuli's spirit contemplates the realms beyond nature...nostalgic enough to hold on a little longer.

Mirt rushes towards the fallen plasmoid, but trips over a large metal wine carafe  falling face first into a bedside table, launching its contents wildly into a scatter. "Damnit..." he curses, reaching out to the wounded cadet "...its not just a closet, its a WhimsiChic Wardrobe 3000..." as if that is supposed to mean something, motioning to the glowing armoire littered with last nights drunken-soiled garments.

Popsicle's klepto-webs dig up another souvenir from the Old Wolf's possessions, this time some kind of petrified mushroom from the Dawn Herald of Anadia. "...wait a sec ye daffy flippered tuxedo, not my priceless petrified poisonous powderpuff!" but its too late, the crystalized fungus missing its target horribly and shattering into a billion tiny rock spores.

The pebbly spores find their way under Nazira's boot and she slips momentarily as a pair of the crazed aliens jumps up and latches onto her face, digging into the soft tissue of her neck ferociously. Both go down in a mist of blood, leaving Yahs as the last line of defense. The wet-wiping warrior stands her ground, parrying the bouncy babies attempts at snatching organs from the large balloon.

Sword burst killed one at 1 hp actually. Yahs kills a hatchling and the wounded fierce hatchling. Lou seriously wounds another. Lou, they seem to only be attacking the ones in melee range.

Lazuli roll death save 2.

spacer.pngCelsior Loriniscil, Prince of Alfheim

Inspiration Yes | HP 8/8 | HD 1/1 | Step 1/2 | Shield 0/1

Recovery 1/1 | 1st-level 1/2

Celsior finally understands Mirt and runs toward Lazuli. The prince grabs a blanket from the bed to collect the unconscious liquid crew. He carries the plasmoid to the glowing armoire.

If he needs to more move or to avoid melee, he would Starlight Step to have enough move to the cabinet.

Reaching the more-than-an-armoire, he opens the door and unceremoniously dumps Lazuli inside.

Celsior, the wardrobe is 25 ft from the rug, so yes you could use your Step or just Disengage to do that without AoO.

As the neogi rally atop the downed Nazira and continue to harry the sole defending mop-warrior, Celsior plucks the plump, shapeless Squishy out of the fray. Reaching the tinkling, glowing wardrobe, the Astral elf senses a familiar conduit to his ancestral dominion...within is an extradimensional space. Trusting in Mirt, the hungry druid is thrust within, vanishing in a magical *SUCK*.

Lazuli awakes in an extravagant beauty parlor, the scent of a thousand trendy perfumes shriveling her membranes as much as the aura of makeup powders. A gnome of unknown gender drops their nail file in shock, sputtering only "Oh hell no..." under their breath before "Ok. Ok. WhimsiChic's got some work to do. I'm going to give you the latest in cilia styles, bring that glow back to your cytoplasm...oh, and hide those food vacuoles...your going to rock the space runway, honey. You ain't ready for this." What follows is a furious application of cosmetological principles, perfected by years of experience and a passion for makeover metamorphosis.

As the mirror is tilted back, Lazuli barely recognizes herself. image.png.2bdcb5269acf57626fb43117d3d72620.png

Lazuli, you are restored to full hitpoints in addition to having a complete makeover. Spell slots are not restored, however. You can leave the wardrobe next round and be back in the battle on your same init count.

Lou and Yahs to go.

*Clack*clack*clackclackclack* The sound of hardwood mop handle blocking the poison dripping appendages of the neogi hatchlings rings through the Fleet Commander's cabin. Suddenly the rhythm falters as she looks around to see only herself still engaged and holding the line against the vile little creatures. She presses the attack, but the flow and cadence is wobbly, hesitant, off as a part of her mind focuses on possible avenues of escape. Her attacks are poorly aimed and she considers what the next version of the afterlife might bring.

In a sudden splatter of mop and pseudoflail, Yahs wrecks another of the deadly stowaways. There is now quite a pile of eel-necks and bug-guts the survivors play king of the mountain on, making it easy for the plasmoids followup to connect. A goblin-whittled arrow with black fletching zips through the latest on top with the crown, toppling the cat-sized creature arse over end in a nice snowball effect.

Mirt raises a fist in cheer "That's it lads. Now we've got-URGHGHGH" vomiting a dizzy hangover mix as Popsicle throws a birdcage holding a pair of partridges randomly across the room.

The swarm turns on Louis as he runs in to the rescue, slashing and biting as much in surprise as in any kind of tactical choice. One of them gets a lucky munch on his little exposed goblin toes.

Lou, make a DC 10 con check vs Poisoned condition.

Lazuli emerges from the wardrobe after several hours, although somehow only about six seconds. She looks... Different. Toned. Glistening. Sexy. Somehow, she has been transformed from a smelly blue blob, into a sexy blue blob, that also smells like sexy. "I Live!" she exclaims, in a much deeper, smoother, melodious voice. The sort of voice that turns heads, and drops pants. "Time to squash some," she sniffs derisively, "Basic bugs," she continues, emphasis on Basic for some reason.

Then, moving back into the fray, she pulls out her magical prosthesis and attacks. She spends more time making sure she looks good while she does it, than being effective, however.
