Maybell sits nice and still for a bit, her blue halfling eyes peering for the lightest tension on Kaine's body... and once he found what he did and it came time to fight, she knew what she must do. Unfortunately for any stealth attempts, she was a bard so... right away she puts the bow to her viol and plays the same encouraging notes from a day or two past "Second Verse, same as the First" she quietly mutters letting her magic expand in the notes, emboldening and supporting her allies before she, quite bravely, reposition herself... a little bit away. All the while though, she looks at their approaching enemies, trying to see what they are and whenever she knows of any strategies or weaknesses in her studies.

 

OOC

Maybell is going to roll performance as a free check to try and make a Lingering composition... and fails! Thus, refunding the focus point. She inspires courage nonetheless, then she'll move back, trying to position herself somewhat close to allies but close to any cover or otherwise, put herself somewhere she judges she's unlikely to be easily reached. Then she'll recall knowledge about the spiders.

Khaine remembers the webs, more importantly he remembers the insects caught in it. Approaching the spiders would be dangerous, maybe deadly.

Instead he remembered the patient hunter. He lowered himself into his stance and trusted in his companions to come help. With a low growl he clawed his hands, and took up a defensive pose, ready to strike as the spiders opened themselves to a counter.

 

Action 1 : Tiger Stance

Action 3 : 10 Step directly away from the spiders (not directly towards the group)

Seeing that Khaine retreated but slowly, Chelia moved towards him, weapon ready and magical shield up. Upon seeing the webs and spiders, she stayed away from Khaine so one web wouldn't catch them all, while trying to remember what she had ever heard about those giant spiders.

Scouting gives us a +1 to our initiative, just so you remember

action 1: raise shield spell

action 2: move towards Khaine, but stay a bit away so a web won't get us both

action 3: recall knowledge about spiders (untrained nature) (natural 20 on that test, so I probably know something).

Round 1 Summary:


  • Maybell inspires the group with music, though fails to work the magic to extend the effect.
  • Khaine moves back a bit, crouches, and raises his shield
  • Chelia moves into position to back up Khaine, with her shield spell up

  • Spider 1 approaches, and attempts to web Khaine, missing
  • Spider 2 approaches and successfully webs up CheliaA creature hit by the hunting spider’s web attack is immobilized and stuck to the nearest surface until it Escapes (DC 17)

  • Weylin casts electric arc, minimally hurting one spider, and the other manages to completely evade the arcs.
  • Kek rushes up to defend Chelia, but doesn't succeed in hitting the spider.

Spiders' turn:

Sensing that their prey has stopped short of the large web, both spiders use their first action to descend from the trees via web line.

Spider 1:

  • action 2: moves 25 feet towards Khaine, ending 10 feet away from him
  • action 3: sprays webbing at Khaine

Spider 2:

  • action 2: moves 25 feet towards Chelia, ending 15 feet away from her
  • action 3: sprays webbing at Chelia

Chelia is immobilized, but may free herself with a DC 17. Escape checks may be an attack roll against the webbing (weapon or spell attack roll), an athletics check, or an acrobatics check. All such checks count towards multiple attack penalty for the round.

Electricity crackles along Weylin's arms as he side steps out into the open, keeping to the back line behind Chalia and Khaine. "Cra Cirtcele!" he entones, amulet thrumming and pulsing with light and magic before he throws a hand forward, launching forth arcing lightning at both spiders.

1 action - Side step to the window between Khaine and Chalia, staying back 10 feet from them.
