Thorin brushes himself off after being buffeted luckily he was under a fly spell so he did not fall, unfortunately Silvena was not so lucky, hitting the water hard before righting herself and taking back to the skies, circling to find the pesky white dragon that had dived under the water. Coming level with Thorin they both scan the water to find the sneaky dragon. Prepared to attack if the opportunity arises.

Moon Magic

image.png.613517813d250163470413cacbe8baac.pngGareth spots the dragon beneath the water. He moves to hover over the water's surface. The dragon is deep enough that this prevents his spirit guardians spell from reaching it. However, he does manage to target the creature with his cantrip.

Javeq and Araxis fail to spot the dragon.

Thorin and Silvena locate the dragon and dive beneath the water's surface to attack. Thorin's axe moves sluggishly through the water, allowing the dragon to block the first swipe with its claw. Thorin's second attack hits home, as does Silvena's bite.

The dragon flaps its wings, stirring up waves. Thorin twists to avoid the surging water, but Silvena takes 10 points of bludgeoning damage and falls prone.

Derek fail to master the dragon fear and remains huddled on the ship's deck. Aran fails to locate the dragon's position beneath the waves.

The dragon swims upward, emerging from the water directly beneath the ship. Its jaws close over the hull, crushing the ice-weakened wood. It continues its path through the ship's deck, partially rending it with its claws. The dragon does not manage to break entirely through the deck of the ship, and remains only half-emerged.


Tabletop

The full party is up.

While underwater, Thorin has disadvantage on attack rolls unless the weapon is a dagger, javelin, shortsword, spear, or trident. I'm ruling Silvena's bite attack doesn't suffer from disadvantage.

Derek uses his leadership ability. Once per round, one ally within 30' of Derek can add 1d4 to an attack roll or saving throw.

The dragon has taken 96 damage.

Seeing the dragon emerge from the water, the knight of the sword flies down to engage in melee. He brings his translucent spiritual knights swirling around him to engage the dragon, too. Swinging from the high guard position, his magically flaming mace attempts a demoralizing strike on the dragon.

Gareth approaches the dragon. His spirit guardians harry the huge creature, but the dragon resists the worst of the spell's effects. Gareth's swing of his mace rebounds harmlessly off the dragon's thick scales.

Beneath the water, Thorin swings Wyrmslayer at the dragon. However, he struggles to account for the water resistance, and his swings are wild. Silvena bites the dragon's tail.

The dragon swings its tail wildly. It hits Thorin, dealing 16 points of bludgeoning damage.

Araxis casts his spell, and the dragon cries out in pain as the magic wracks his brain.

Aran fires two arrows at the dragon, but both bounce harmlessly off its scales. Derek still struggles under the effects of dragonfear, unable to approach the dragon. He attempts to fire a crossbow bolt, but the bolt flies wide of the dragon. The knight finally masters his fear.

The Dragon attempts to bite Gareth, but the knight blocks with his shield. The dragon rends the deck with its claws, finally freeing itself. It flies 80 feet into the air above you.

The ship groans ominously. You hear timbers snap.

Gareth hounds the dragon following him straight up in the air as it flies away. "Stay still, you beast. You will not survive your actions today." The knight shouts after him.

He positions himself between the dragon and the ship within melee.

Javeq stands on the rolling deck. He's not terribly disappointed that the dragon is flying away. Maybe the ship will hold together. But if it doesn't, he is glad that Gareth cast the ritual to allow Javeq to walk on the water himself. LEt's just hope the spell lasts long enough to get to shore.

He fires two more bolts of magic at the fleeing dragon and then hides on the other side of the mast.

Moon Magic

Gareth flies into the air, close enough that his spirit guardians can harry the dragon with their magical blades.

Javeq fires two eldritch blasts; the first misses, but the second hits the dragon, causing its wings to falter for an instant.

Thorin flies into the air, his magically enhanced speed allowing him to outpace Silvena, who flies behind him. His first swing of Wyrmslayer hits home, and Silvena wreaths the axes with flames from her breath. The dragon dodges the second swing, but Thorin cries in rage, bringing the magical axe home for a final blow.

The dragon hangs in midair for a moment, and then it begins to plummet quickly toward the ship. All of you mange to avoid a direct impact with the creature's corpse. However, it hits the deck of the ship with a sickening crunch. The weakened beams, already strained by the dragon's attacks, rip apart. You have survived this fight, but Windrider has not.

Gareth follows the dragon down to the sinking ship and starts trying to save people and floating pieces of the ship. They need to secure as many of the crew as possible, but he ensures that his two fellow knights are secured early in his work, especially the Clownguard who carries the dragonorb.
