RodinToken.png.56386b76bbc0b62d9c4d7bada805098e.pngRodin Sethilaud

Wood Elf, Ranger

Rodin seems to be the only one of the group that is not too concerned with the new arrivals. He just continues to lay there and slowly wheeze as he breathes. Proof he is alive. The fact that he is an elf and they don't normally sleep like this is a good clue to any observer that he is in a bad way and is not really concerned with too much, other than drawing his next breathe.

OOC

If he wins the strength test by more than 5, then he will continue to push the thing as far as he can. Assuming it does not kill him with its AoO.

Elven Lowlight vision, so he can see 40' a if full light rather than the normal 20 of the torch.

Will take 10 on Spot and Listen checks for a total of 15 each when not in combat.

It gets a +3 bonus if any of those are applied to Drow or large spiders.

Rodin is still borrowing Auriel's bow.

The serpent tongue arrows do both slashing and piercing damage. They are designed to use to cut ropes and break things more effectively.

Aeruiel Moonshadow   Half-Moon Elf Barbarian from Ashabenford

Aeruiel nods in acknowledgement of the elf's name in satisfaction and looks to her companions. She tells the elves, "I am Aeruiel Moonshadow, daughter of elf ranger Lafali Nadar. Do you know him?" She is hoping some elf would recognize her father's name and tell her if he is still alive and out in this world. She didn't think to introduce her companions as she wasn't sure if they wanted her doing all the introductions herself. She was after all not the leader of this party.

OoC

I don't expect these elves to know her father, it is just a personal goal of her's to find him out in her adventures.

AppearanceFemale half-elf, age 17, blonde, blue eyes, fair skin, 5'-7" tall weight about 125 lbs.

She is described as a willful and free spirited young woman, who likes playing pranks, and flies into fits of rage when bullied.

"Well met Aeruiel Moonshadow. Lafali Nadar you say... The name sounds vaguely familiar... I may once have heard him play at an alehouse in Tangled Trees. But it was many moons ago...

I ask again, what brings you to this ruined keep within the bounds of the great forest of Cormanthyr?!"

Aeruiel Moonshadow   Half-Moon Elf Barbarian from Ashabenford

Aeruiel nods in acknowledgement of forgetfulness and tells the elves, "Oh ..." She looks around to her party and continues, "We are adventurers. We stumbled upon this ruin and decided to see what secrets it was hiding. Do you know this place?" She thought about asking more about her father, but decided to keep the focus on this conversation. If the elves have lore about this place it would be nice to know. She hopes they do and are in a sharing mood. Maybe if she invited them to camp with her party. It is not really a decision she should make for all of them.

OoC

Sorry, I forgot to post last week.

The two elves approach Aeruiel, less wary than they'd seemed at first and though they do not sheath their weapons, they lower their bows. Once a few feet away, they both smiles politely and nods their heads in greeting.

"Aye we know some things, though not many. Lore is not our particular forte, that was Inialos' area of expertise."

The mention of the name seems to draw a shadow of concern across their features and a glance at one another.

"Many human lifetimes ago, this area was the site of a watchtower of the Fair Folk of Cormanthyr. It was abandoned long before humans came to what is now called Mistledale. The area has long been reputed to be haunted. This could be a mere rumor, a true account of the ghost of the bandit Galath, or a tale of an older, elven ghost.

Few know outside the Fair Folk, but as you profess to be adventurers, we would warn you that a burial crypt, part of the watchtower's dungeons, might have survived its decay. If so, it would be heavily guarded by magic and ought to be respected and left undisturbed.

More recently, a number of horse-mounted troops have been active in the area, which is curious. They certainly aren't elves.

We've been here once before, in search of our companions. Someone has been camping on the hill south of the keep. There are signs of a fight back there, including three graves. Have you encountered any other elves or signs of any..?!"

Aeruiel Moonshadow   Half-Moon Elf Barbarian from Ashabenford

Aeruiel shakes her head side to side to indicated that they have not seen any other elves. "No ..." She looks to her party and says, "But ... we did encounter some giant ants, some kobolds, and this little faerie pretending to be a "ghost" that has a real sour attitude. He almost killed a companion of ours." She thought about telling them about the bandits being the main reason they are here but she wanted to get a feel of them first before revealing that information; after all, they could be the bandits they are looking for.

Feeling a little embarrassed to ask she says, "Do you two know how to make evlen bow-staff? My friend lost him in the ruins below and he could use a weapon. He is borrowing my bow at the moment, but he really should have an evlen bow-staff." She is hoping to capitalize on their arrival to see if they are skilled craftsmen that can produce such a bow-staff quickly.

OoC

She failed a Sense Motive check on them some posts ago so I'm assuming she is super trusting of them right now.

As Aeriel talks to the newcomer Elves who remain openly armed with their loaded bows pointed at the ground, Jessie likewise remains armed with her fancy composite short bow as well while the diminutive Halfling continues to stand watch from atop the large rock in the oak tree room.

When Aeriel dodges directly answering the stranger's inquiries about the party's activities and instead pumps the Elves for information about themselves and this place, Jessie smiles from ear-to-ear as caster negotiates with the skill of a rogue!

As the diminutive Halfling maintains perimeter security keeping her eyes and ears focused on the strangers as well as the surrounding environment, the burglar silently communicates with the invisible occupant of the oak tree room.

Jessie's Mind

Jessie thinks, 'A pair of Elves have arrived. We do not know them. Do you know them?'

Jessie Tosscobble III's AppearanceJessie is small standing at 2 foot 8 inches and weighing a mere 27 pounds. As such, the lass intentionally keeps her brown hair long to cover her halfling features, which allows the rogue to pass herself off as a small humanoid or even young human or half-elven child when convenient or necessary.

Dressed dark purple clothing, which is overlaid with attractive black leather accoutrements, Jessie keeps the paraphernalia of her 'profession' secreted upon her person, and especially the authorities, except when in use.

Her friendly blue eyes and warm, sincere smile are disarming and allow the lass to paint a picture of a young girl who is completely unintimidating by all appearances, an assumption often made by others which suits her well and which she actively cultivates.

To promote this look of youth or innocence, most of Jessie's weapons, alchemical doodads, pack, and other equipment are kept hidden under her clothing and also by her large heavy dark green cloak.

Morn Tallstag

AC: 15 HP: 7/7

Morn follows he sound of talking outside. A addresses the newcomers in his friendly, over familiar manner. "Well, this place is getting crowded. I'm Morn Tallstag of Elven Crossing. My friend Bochs and I come up here after the rumors of bandits bothering the region, and we've made the acquaintance of this lot. We'll tell your friends you're about if we see them."

Simimar and Lathai Both arch eyebrows at Aeruiel's description and question. They glance at each other, then turn back their attention only to shake their heads.

"It sounds as though you have found much here. We've come across some kobold hunters a few nights past, slew the vermin, but otherwise, have heard of none of these things, though giant ants and the fey, with all their mischief, are both known denizens under the boughs.

That a fey almost killed a companion of your seems odd. They are mischievous, bothersome to most, to be certain, but rarely lethal unless provoked...

A bow-staff? Mean you an Elvencraft bow? Such items are not easily crafted, nor often found outside the hands of archer of the Fair Folk. Is your companion Tel Quessir? Are they wounded?"

Simimar seems genuinely concerned. At the appearance of Morn, he and his brother tense some, but quickly ease and nod their heads respectfully, even laughing, a singsong tone that is quite pleasing.

"Simimar and Lathai Evioro of Tangled Trees. It is getting crowded indeed.

Our thanks for your offer. We fear the worst. Something dangerous is lurking around these ruins. One of our friends, Nylian Moonglade by name, was killed north of here. We found his body. The marks upon it were not left by kobolds, giant ants or even fey but by forged weapons.

His companion, Inialos Oakwood, was with him and we have not found him or a trace of him yet."

"Oh yes, they do say the place is haunted by the ghost of Galath, and the Harpers filled it with traps to keep the Zhents from taking control of it. It's become occupied by giant ants too if you'll believe it. Terribly sorry to hear about your friend Nylian. We do have our elf friend here, who is doing very poorly after our run in with the creature in the pool"

As group outside the oak tree room grew larger and their discussions grew louder, Jessie frowned as she readies herself for the worst should the newcomers be more than they claim or should the town meeting going on in the ruins draw the attention of one or more of the numerous enemies lurking in and about the ancient fortress.

Furthermore, it was even more worrisome and suspect to the tiny rogue that, for now, the voice in her head from the supposed invisible creature who lives in the oak tree also did not know the identity of the Elves either but indicated that such race is no stranger to these parts.

As the diminutive Halfling thinks a more specific question to her new friend, Jessie keeps her loaded bow pointed at the ground and her eyes and ears focused on the surrounding environs watching and listening for the sight or sound or smell of anything unusual or anything moving in the immediate area as the burglar provides overwatch security.

Jessie's Mind

Jessie thinks again, 'They claim to be Siminar and Lathai Evioro of Tangled Trees. Ever heard of them?'
