While Vri didn't really like robots, she did follow the others towards the broken down one, just in case it wasn't as broken down as they thought, or if someone tinkered with it and it suddenly started attacking. She didn't say anything for now, just observe.

She withdraws a small bottle from her pouch and pours a few drops onto her veil before tying it around her face once more.

"Idiot cityfolk, polluting their own drinking water," she mutters to herself. Jerry pinches his nose and squeaks in agreement. "Annika was right. We should check on the water purification plant- perhaps someone has tampered with it. Have you checked on the plant since this sickness started to spread, Matuk?" Rain says as she follows the group.

"Don't help none if dees fools be dumpin' dey garbage in dere tho, 'speshully if dey be doin' it downstream."
 

Pushing the door open, he gestures across to the smaller building at the back of the property, "Dat's Val's house over dere."

 

"Yo dad chucked the tin can in the storage room." The half-orc added almost as a side note, as he continued walking toward the closer, larger building that sported the decking at the front.

 

Opening a door there, he looked back towards the party and goes, "Dis here's the tavern. Jus' go pass the kitchen here, y'all kin drop jor stuff on the floor, it's all good, we been closed pretty much since the Torch went out enewhey."

At The Foundry Tavern

T'Sarra moved in through the kitchen and into the tavern proper and dropped her pack, the broken robots if she was carrying any, all except her armor and weapons.

"We have a lot to do, for sure. Let's see this broken robot first. Then we can talk to the council."

With Val's encouragement, Violet continues to cling to the young woman's arm and tags along behind the rest.

 

spacer.pngAt her kind edification, Matuq turns to face Val. "Me Noomah'z jus' tryna pay mah dues, n'am sayin'?"

 

"But y'know wa'I be makin' a difference n'dis town 'dogh, I run wit'a good crew, yo paps an' y'all." Returning the props where they're due, the half-orc puts his fist out for a fist bump with Val.

 

"Uh well, uddr'n yo dad bein' gone an' all?" Furrowing his thick brows, Matuq tried to remember for a moment before answering, "Yeh uh, lemmetin... Yeh yeh. I'tin' councillor Olandir stepped down dis munt', an' Soceal Murgrave got voted in? Sum'in li'dat."

 

Val Only

spacer.pngCouncilor Serantha Olandir is... was until recently the charismatic, influential leader of Torch's town council. She lost her husband two years ago to a back alley mugging by the Ropefists near Silverdisk Hall. Since then, she's made it her mission to ensure Torch doesn't become a den of crime and corruption by taking a more direct hand in shaping its politics.

 

spacer.pngSoceal Murgrave is the proprietor of Evercandle Inn, an establishment which uses strange alchemical candles to light its rooms. The inn is one of the more popular lodgings for visiting smiths and artisans, as its location is conveniently close to not only the Guildhouse and the warehouse district, but also the trailhead up to the top of Black Hill as well.

Inside the Baine Family House

"Val, you are no doubt feeling emotional distress as a result of the disappearances of both your father and of Domino. I surmise that returning to your childhood home has brought up some uncomfortable sense of absence." Violet responded as she stepped through the door and into the hallway with Val, droning on in a rather tonedeaf manner, "Do you wish to be comforted?"

 

spacer.pngJust then, a loud crash came from the direction of the storage room, followed by another. A five-foot tall hulk of gray and white metal and wiring lurches forward on three spidery legs, its one blazing eye fixed on Val as it grabs her with a four-fingered hand, making a loud and tortured grinding noise as it moves.

 

The force comes sudden and strong, and though the robot-thing loses grip in the process, it nonetheless managed to slam Val into the wall to her side.

Inside the Tavern

A pair of loud crashes are suddenly heard toward the back of the property, vaguely in the direction of the Baine Family House. A split second later, Matuq shouts through the door, "Yo! Shit's goin' down braches!"

T'Sarra rolled her eyes. She'd been trying to get matuq to take her in to inspect this ruined robot forever! And now somehow Val and Vi just wandered in to see it? It was kind of the story of her life though, as the danger, prepare for it and be powerless to stop it. She called behind her as she raced to the house

"Matuq! I thought you said it was wrecked! Is there a back door? Another way in? Is it locked?"
