Heshiman dropped back from the crack as Sophic gets hit, lacking a means to return the attack. He also began looking around the canyon, watching for signs that Ghost had already seen.

The vehicle does not stop it's movement and quickly moves far enough down the tunnel to be invisible to those crouched above. Aosa could easily see the vehicle stop at the the bend of the tunnel nearest the secret room. While one of the mole people works to treat the wounds of the one that traded shots with Sophic, the rest pile off of the vehicle and begin unloading a series of what appeared to be metal poles and other small components. A couple of the more "guard" looking ones with ranged weapons disappear around the bend, likely to check the secret room, while the rest spread out from the vehicle and take up what Aosa immediately recognized as a "resting guard" position, while the ones with spears and slings focused on unloading whatever it was from the cargo bed of the gravsled.

Aosa can give me a Gather Information roll to see if she can work out what they are working on. Either which way, it is pretty evident that they don't look like they are in a hurry to move on.

Aosa was not overly familiar with construction equipment and techniques, but as she watches the pieces get piled up and organized, it looks like the mole people are preparing to put together a scaffolding. It is just a guess, but Aosa thinks that they are likely planning on addressing the crack that has been a massive security issue for them of late. In addition to the scaffolding, Aosa spots a what appears to be some kind of sprayer still sitting in the back of the vehicle. Some of the guards are actively discussing and pointing towards the crack. Aosa thinks that they are likely planning how to make sure that the enemies still on the surface clear out enough for work to proceed.

The bandaged one from before, still seating in the vehicle says something to the guards and you see a very obvious grenade carefully passed from the vehicle to one of them. Aosa is pretty sure that it is a simple frag grenade, although many stun grenades would be indistinguishable from this distance.

She turns to look up at the opening, she starts mouthing the words "Throw down the rope". At the same time, she makes military hand signal for "go" towards the opening.

It appears the mole people have hit a spot where they do not have a direct line of sight on where Aosa is hidden in the tunnel as she is easily able to catch Sophic's eye and clearly pass along her intention before dropping back into concealment.

Sophic, disappointed not to have 'found' another blaster, acknowledges the gesture from Aosa by dropping the rope back down at an angle furthest from the line of sight of the mole people.

As Sophic dropped down the rope, Aosa kept an eye on the mole people for a reaction. Sophic was trying to be careful with it, but dropping a rope into a tunnel is just an inherently obvious action.

Within a couple of seconds of the end of the rope hitting the tunnel floor, Aosa saw several quiet gestures amongst the mole people and the gun wielders begin quickly moving into position, aiming for the ceiling, obviously expecting someone or something to begin a descent.

Aosa quietly sighs. She didn't want to do this. Bracing her weapon, she unleashes a burst of slugs into the group of gunmen.

Ghost crouches down beside Sophic, gesturing for the woman to hand over the rope. I pull. You cover her, she Signs before pantomiming aiming a blaster.

Aosa popped up from hiding, focusing her burst of fire on the guards still visible and catching a couple of the workers as well, all of them by surprise. The other workers drop the scaffolding pieces they are working with and run for cover behind the gravsled or around the corner. The two guards, quickly recovering from their surprise, begin to pivot their aim towards her. Aosa is thankful that the one with the grenade had stepped around the corner towards the secret room.

OOC

Aosa caught them fully by surprise, so they do not get an immediate reaction as they are unaware for the surprise round. 4 of them are wounded by the autofire. The guard with the tusken rifle and the one that was driving and armed with a blaster pistol (and the grenade) are around the corner. The various workers (including the two in the car) are obviously moving towards cover as they recover from their surprise. The rope is hanging there. With Ghost & Heshiman (+2 bonus on the roll) waiting to pull, you would need a DC 15 climb check to clear the crack in the ceiling and get at out of direct line of sight with them in one round. Less than a 10 on the roll is a full failure.

"Hide and you will live!". Aosa screams at the molemen in the jawa trade language as she slings her rifle over her shoulder. Grabbing the rope, Aosa starts climbing. Initially the sweat on her hands prevent her from getting a good grip. Then she digs deep and starts making some progress.

Sophic, a devilish expression on her face, winks at Heshiman, then uses the metallic reflective surface of her spare power pack as a kind of mirror to look around the edge of the pit and view the mole people down the tunnel. She then picks up a rock in the tunnel and targets the most aggressive, dangerous looking of the mole people, flicking it telepathically at them. Mostly it would bruise or maybe break a single bone, but she could do it over and over at astounding range.

Sophic's rock glances off the head of the Mole guard with the blaster rifle, but this does little to throw off his aim as his shot grazes14 damage to Aosa from the blaster rifle Aosa. The other guard with the massive booming rifle fired off a round, it's resonate waves painfully loud in the tunnel. A shower of rock dust and stone chips cascaded from the ceiling around Aosa as Ghost and Heshiman quickly haul her out into the dry desert canyon air. Screams and yells from the mole people become faintly audible as the ringing from the thunderous rifle shot begins to fade.

The group falls back a few steps, rending them invisible to the angry mole folk below. Aosa knows enough from her view of their materials that it will take several minutes for them to put together the scaffolding, so there is little chance of them immediately charging out after you all, unless their network of secret doors extend all the way to the surface. At the thought, everyone suddenly turned their eyes to the smooth windswept walls. At any moment there might be a slight shifting and an army of enraged mole people could come swarming out to drag them back down into the tunnel network.

Aosa winces as the blast strikes her. She pushes down the pain to focus on getting out of this accursed hole in the group. Once outside she takes a big gulp of air and then gasps a warning to everyone . ."....they have grenades . . . we need to grab the rope and get away from the hole. . . "

With everyone warned, she takes a few moments to calm her breathing and slow down her racing pulse. Feeling a little bit better, she flashes everyone a grin. "Since we need to leave this spot. Can we go back and check out the reflective object on the cliff side?" she asks

 



Actions

Second wind 9 hp of healing for a net decrease of 5.. Then she will spend a round in recovery to move her condition track back to normal
