Sophic hisses an indrawn breath as Aosa gets nailed. Cutting the rope just at the knot an instant after Aosa pull herself out, she replies, in her usual purr.. "Yes, let's go. Don't want to get chunky seltzered or cookie cuttered", evidencing some military experience with her jargon. She then moves away, leaving those with hands on the rope to wind it.

For a moment, Ghost's heart stops in her chest as the blaster fire collides with Aosa, but the young woman thankfully powers through. Ghost hurriedly helps pull her up, instinctively inspecting the wound. Bad... but not immediately life-threatening. The cut rope is disappointing, but a necessary sacrifice... although Ghost cannot understand a word of what Sophic just said. Rolling up the rope, she reminds the others, "We need to be careful. I heard someone up there. They are not the lizard worshippers, but they did not seem interested in helping us, either. If the light must remain a mystery for us to live, so be it."

The easiest route up the cliffs would be to follow the left split in the canyon around until the ledge path drops enough to access easily. Alternatively, one or more could attempt to climb the ten to fifteen meters of wind smoothed stone up to the ledge path from where you are. The sound of whomever was up there and moved around the turn of the canyon.

Switching her rifle back to single shot, she pulls out her only remaining full magazine. While swapping out her mostly used rifle magazine for her this full one, Aosa looks at the cliffs. "They didn't attack us when they had the advantage. That could be good sign " she hopefully suggests to Ghost.

Turning to look at Sophic, Aosa asks "That path. " she nods at the trail . Can you use your witchcraft to tie off the rope? I was shot in the butt during my last climb. I would prefer to avoid a harder climb this time."

Sophic nods.. "Tie it around something light that my mind can latch onto, I should be able to toss it here and there, up and down.", she replies in her low, contralto, clearly doing her best to sound languid and relaxed. "Here's hoping the impish monsters down under suffer from a fear of open spaces.", she adds, moving off to where the easiest entrance to the path up is likely found. "We're beaten bloody. Can we survive out here without meeting anyone new? We're not up for another hostile encounter."

Aosa does have a point... There had been no opportunist ambush during their escape attempt. Ghost begins to tie the rope around the sunshield roll from her field kit. It is one of the lightest things on her, wouldn't break easily, and could hopefully snag on something with its width. "They have already had their chance to kill us, but they stayed their hand. That is more forbearance than either beasts or hole-dwellers will offer us. Hopefully, the lizard-worshippers are so used to keeping their noses to the ground that they won't look up. Either way, we need to get out of this canyon."

Sophic levitates the tied off mat and rope up to the ledge. It was odd to try to move around things with her mind without a direct line of sight, but after a moment or two, Aosa is able to tug on the rope and feel a reassuring resistance. While that is getting situated, Ghost walks down the right hand path. At the hairpin turn, Ghost looks around the corner to see a short stretch of canyon, roughly half the distance that she walked to get to the turn, before it hit another hairpin turn in the other direction. Fresh sand coated the floor of the canyon branch, softening the edges of things even more than than the wind carving already had. Ghost noticed that the sand at the next turn is noticeably darker that the lead up to it. It is a faint gradient, but Ghost's well-trained tusken eyes was able to pick it out.

OOC

Need a climb roll from Aosa if she is going up.

Once again, Aosa slings her rifle in preparation for another climb. "Catch me if I fall" she jests as she thinks "Please do it". Giving a final tug on the rope, she starts climbing the rock.

Aosa and Sophic quickly climb the relatively short length of rope. After the climb out of the tunnel, this was easy. The tethered rope had gotten tangled around a large extrusion of harder stone from the side of the canyon. The ledge path itself was just barely over a meter wide and slick with a thin spread of sand recently added by the passing storm. Twin channels mark a staggered walking track that tends to hug the canyon wall, although occasionally nears the edge to avoid harder, sharper rocks that protruded from the wall in the few places.

At the bottom of the canyon Heshiman tentatively held the rope and looked after Ghost. "Are you coming up, or going that way?"

OOC

The DC on the climb check was only 10, so Aosa doesn't need to burn that force point.

Sophic, at the top looks to Ghost to assist Heshiman, while she looks around, trying to spot an observer or an ambush. She then searches her feelings to see if she can get a bad feeling about going either way, while looking before looking down at Heshiman (which determines left and right).

OOC: Sophic can't roll less than 8 on UTF so all her rolls with this skill have a minimum result of 21, so everything is a success. Shame about the perception roll.

Ghost quickly climbs up the short rise. Sophic focuses her mind on her feelings as she looks up the slope of the ledge path. The Pacithhip, who was tall enough that he might be able to simply jump and catch the lip of the ledge, instead he tries to use the rope to help. Sophic feels that something vaguely promising awaits at the top of the path. Following the ledge down the slope is less clear.

Ghost grabs the rope, ready to catch his hand to help him up. Heshiman's broad foot some how got caught up in the rope and his other foot slipped on the smooth stone wall. The tips of his fingers just barely miss Ghost's outstretched hand and he groaned loudly when he landed flat on his back. The momentary silence afterwards was broken only by his gasping attempts to draw in air, made all the more musical as the breathe whistled in his trunk.
