The red-head smirks back at Chailel. "If it's not my race, it's my favored school of magic that people dislike." She chuckles. "I don't even like undead that much, but apparently that doesn't matter to many. I'm a Necromancer and a demon-spawn (or just a demon straight out); therefore I must be evil."

Her grin widens further. "It's not like they're wrong about any of that, but c'mon! It's the principle of the thing! Thankfully, it seems I won't have any trouble on that front around here; at the very least."

Her smirk suddenly fades into a frown briefly. "Although now I'm wondering just how they knew I was a necromancer. Not like I go around advertising it... Ah well." Her playful smirk returns shortly thereafter.

Agadhbodh takes another sip at the drink in his glass as if trying to decide if he likes it - and is then promptly distracted by the dog under the nearby table.

She scoffs at the tiny elf. "Please. You say that as if it's such a bad thing. You guys didn't attack me on sight when I was clearly weakened, and I'll be damned if Glasses over there isn't a scholar of magic as well. If nobody else among the three of you I've met so far, he'd recognize Necromancy when he saw it when I was restoring myself just now."

"Me, a scholar of magic?" Agadhbodh's cheeks flush, sure that the attractive, if somewhat demonic, woman is having a bit of fun at his expense. Or flirting. Is this flirting? Unsure of what is happening at the moment, the blushing young man no longer distracted by the dog takes a long drink from his glass to try and cover for being flustered.

"Oh, no," he finally gets out, "I'm mostly a... linguist. I know a little about magic - mostly secondhand, but I'm not even a dabbler, let alone a practitioner or scholar. Some seventh son of a seventh son I turned out to be."

If you set Agadhbodh on fire and pulled his nails out you couldn't get him to confess that he doesn't really know what the tiefling is referring to. However, context is enough for him to determine that her statement is ribald. His cheeks flush brighter and he turns to Jessica for help before finally, and lamely, turning his attention to the dog under the nearby table. "Oh look," he mumbles, "a dog."

Jessica rolls her eyes, and continues her discussion with the young man,
 

“And what if you succeed, Agadbodh? What will you -do- after you puzzle this language out?”

 

She is forced to use two hands to drink from the overly large glass, but at least it’s -good- sherry. Jessica tries to be as graceful as possible given the goblet-like proportions.

The old man's cheeks turn a bright scarlet as he chuckles heartily, stuffing more bread in his mouth between breaths and shaking his head. "Ha! Kids..."

 

He reaches down to give the dog several solid thumps on the flank, the beast responding with a tired moan and briefly lifting its massive head to look around through drooping eyelids. It licks its jowls with several sickening smacks, yawns, and sets the loose flaps of flesh back down in a pool of their own stringy drool. "Aye lad! 'N a fine one at that! Prime specimen o' athletic perfection this 'n."

 

He leans forward, covering one side of his mouth as if to somehow block the tiefling woman from reading his lips, and proceeds to whisper... loudly. "Gotta touch o' tha divine in 'im! Aint a fiend alive he can't snuffle out!" He gives the young man a wink and chuckles again. "Well... cept maybe fer tha ones that can cover their scent."

The woman in question just laughs at Glasses' reaction. Yes! That is exactly the reaction she expected from someone that looks as lost and sheltered as him. "Don't worry, sweetie. I'm not going to hurt you." She grins, stretching in such a way as to emphasize all the things that get people excited. If he didn't want to be flirted with, he'd say something. "Unless, of course, you're into that sort of thing. I certainly won't judge." She ignores the old man and his dog for the most part. He's clearly onto her antics but hasn't said anything, so he's not currently important.

Alexis' continued needling does nothing to reduce the color in the young scholar's cheeks; though Agadhbodh doesn't tell her to stop. He takes another sip of his drink, still obviously unsure how he feels about it, and shoots a grateful look to Jessica after giving the specimen of canine athletic perfection a little wave.

"The first step will be to resume attempt at contact with an extraplanar entity. The second step will be, with luck, to become less of an embarrassment during family dinner." Agadhbodh makes a vague wave of his hand - perhaps he hasn't thought this plan through entirely. "Somehow the family penchant for sorcery passed me by. I didn't manage to inherit any of the martial prowess, either. I did, however," he reaches up to push at his glasses a bit, "find myself with the family eyesight. The six brothers, four sisters, and of course my parents, are all supportive about it - most of the time - but it's the glabrox in the room, as it were. All of which is far more than you likely wanted to know, but should I fail and wind up mad, cackling in the corner about showing them all at least someone will know why."

Alexis just continues to grin at Glasses as he does his best to ignore her advances. So she switches targets to Jessica. "So, Pixie, how about you? Do you know how to use your tongue?" She arches her eyebrows and her tail twirls and flicks a few times as if to draw attention to itself. "If not, perhaps either of you would like to learn?" She winks, grinning unrepentantly.

Maybe she can get little miss pixie to blush too. That would be fun. Actually, this is probably the first time in at least the past month or two she's sat back and had a good, light-hearted flirting session with someone. Maybe she'll stick around here and see if there are others she can tease in the future. For now though, her focus is on the pair in front of her.

They're probably no younger than herself, but between Glasses' innocence (based on his reaction to her flirtation) and Miss Pixie's size, they seem like children to her. Or maybe her perception is skewed. Could be either, really. Though whether short elf or actual pixie, Miss Pixie could well wind up being older than Alexis. Ah well, that's never stopped her before.

Jessica looks over at the tiefling, pleased for once that she was well-versed in social combat.

“You’ll have to wait a bit, sweetie, I’m too sober to go slumming just yet.”

 

She turns back to Agadhbodh, eyes wide. “And what is a glabrox? Are they terrible? Just be careful, some extraplanar entities are related to her.” she adds, glancing over at the tiefling.

 

“I feel ya. My family is terrible too.”

"Glabrox are only terrible if you have a nose. They're remarkably flatulent." He shakes his head, perhaps trying to dispel the raised memory of said terrible beastie.

"I've tried to focus my studies on locating and contacting less traditional beings. Divine entities that are forgotten, or that have, inasmuch as something like that can, died. Culture heroes for cultures that no longer exist. That sort of thing." Agadhbodh sighs and shakes his head. "Though after the experiment that landed me here, I may need to rely on more conventional means of communication."
