  1. Wizard (Conjurer) 3 | 3 Backstory Separated from their family during a visit to Eberron to observe Changelings, Xixok was raised by the human wizard who discovered them. This was a tolerable childhood, as such things go, but Xixok never felt as if they truly belonged. Once their apprenticeship was complete, the young doppelganger set off to try and find a place in the multiverse where they could belong. Personality Like most doppelgangers, Xixok searches for a place where they can belong; perhaps moreso than usual, having been denied the companionship of other doppelgangers at a critical age. This has driven their wanderings - a constant search to find a place to call their own. Appearance In their natural form, Xixok is an atypically tall and thin doppelganger; they rarely appear in this form, however, afraid that others will ostracize or drive them away before getting to know them. Their usual appearance is as a tall, gangly male elf or human - one who gives off a non-threatening, even bumbling aura of helpful scholarship. Role and Build Path Control, Minionmancy, Utility, Frontline Natural Attacker (post level 9) Levels 1 - 4 Wizard 4 | Doppelganger 4 Levels 5 - 8 Wizard 5 - 8 | Doppelganger 4/Warshaper 1 - 4 Level 9+ Wizard 8/Master Transmogrifist 1+ | Doppelganger 4/Warshaper 4/Totemist 1+ Feats There's room for a bit of flexibility here, but the most likely progression is going to be: Level 6: Racial Emulation (If available to Doppelgangers - it would open more Alter Self options) Level 9: Surrogate Spellcasting (Savage Species) Level 12+: Open. I'm considering Arcane Thesis (Polymorph), but that's not set in stone. I'd like to take Obtain Familiar -> Improved (or Dragon), but at level 15+ that may be impractical. If the familiar is available I'll likely retrain (or swap before play) Improved Initiative since the familiar grants an equivalent bonus.   5. Thanks. Hadn't thought to look there. Would Doppelgangers be eligible for the [Racial] feats Persona Immersion, Quick Change, Racial Emulation (Races of Eberron 110)? And are the specialist familiars from it looks like Dragon #323 () available?
  6. If it works for you it's fine with me. The only reason I can think of for the delayed progression other than spells is that some of the Cabalist-only talents are stronk. One of them gives you permanent Blur and a quick shot of Greater Invisibility.
  7. Change of question, since I think I finally found what I was looking for rather than just shooting in the dark. The Doppelganger monstrous humanoid progression (Races of Destiny, pgs 95 - 96): the +4 racial bonus to Bluff and Disguise isn't mentioned in the class-equivalent breakdown. Would it come at level 1 in that case?
