It made sense, after all, that Bettargh wouldn't tell them where the treasures were kept, since they had only known each other for a few days now and they still hadn't quite proved that they'd return extremely valuable treasure if they found it, as long as they didn't count the magic items they had found recently. Sorithar Posted February 23 Author Clone Share Posted February 23 Without objection, Dolan continues onward, soon coming upon another small chamber off the main corridor, as with the others on this level, this is a small barrel-vaulted hall and probably another abandoned orc chamber, scattered with debris, including the remnants of a small cooking fire. As with some of the others you've glanced into, this one too has a half-dozen sleeping blankets scattered across the floor, though here some meal remnants. There are cooked bones of small animals and fabric food wrappings scattered on the floor. It looks like rodents of some sort have devoured most of the uneaten remnants. Afterward, he moves back into the hallway and heads north, keeping an eye out for traps and shining the glowstone into what might be the last unexplored area on this floor. Travelling a bit further, Dolan's hunch proves true when the corridor ends in another small barrel-vaulted hall also probably an abandoned orc chamber, scattered with debris, including the remnants of a small cooking fire. My choice would be to go up the stairs to where we heard that goblin retreat. He glances around to see if the others agree or have a different idea. OOC Hooded lantern with Continual Flame is hanging from his belt. Kodo has scent so can detect them if they get within 30', but can only pin point them if they are within 5'. Unless he spends a move action concentrating and trying to locate the smell. Not sure if that is a skill or just a flat Stat check. I am guessing it would be Wisdom. We can divvy those up when we get a chance," Dolan says, giving the latest room a quick search as well. "With no one injured anymore, I agree with Finwe. If our first priority is getting Yohan his equipment back, I'd bet that we'd stand a better chance of finding it up there, especially since you were brought down here from the surface. You probably came down those stairs to get to this floor," Dolan says. With that, he leads the group north, back to the bottom of the staircase, which Dolan checks thoroughly for traps. "If you have anything you'd like to do before we go goblin- and troll-hunting, do it now," Dolan says. He takes a piece of chalk from his backpack and starts writing a message on the wallIn the Goblin language, the message reads: "This floor belongs to dwarves. Goblins caught here get roasted alive for dwarf fun." inside the staircase in Goblin, smirking a little as he puts the chalk away. He wants it to be visible to anyone walking down the staircase before they exit the staircase and arrive on this floor. Putting his hands on either side of his mouth to amplify his voice, he calls up the staircase in Goblin. "Goblins! Kill your orc masters and we let you leave these halls alive! Fight us and we roast you alive!" He turns back to his companions. "Alright, let's get the Hells out of here while the Direlords deal with that." With that, he quickly leads the others back to the safety of the Clan Ironaxe dwarfhold. Sorithar Posted March 1 Author Clone Share Posted March 1 (edited) With no objections and after Dolan has left a message for the Direlords, Dolan and Bettargh lead you back down the dark halls, lit only with your various sources of enchanted light, and through the hidden door, which Yohan is seeing for the first time, noting the seamless match to the surrounding stonework that is the hallmark of find dwarfcraft. The three guards here bid you welcome back with grim and stoic nods of acknowledgement, eyeing Yohan in particular and opening their eyes in surprise and confusion at the sight of Zephyr. Bettargh bids Yohan to dismiss his conjured mount so as not to draw too much attention or crown the halls below. Soon, you are down the broad stair and back in the halls claimed by the Ironaxe outpost where Bettargh has you extinguish all but one light source as you'd done before, to shield the Stout Folk's eyes from the brightness they have grown accustomed to doing without. As usual, there is little movement in the halls, and those dwarves you cross seem bent on their destination. They give no more than a grunt and go their way. Bettargh leads you to the makeshift barracks room and then takes his leave of you, heading to make a report no doubt, and letting you know he'll look into some equipment for Yohan.
