Baldin

Human (Chondathan), Cleric of Lathander


Hearing the chanting of spells, Baldin decides to hinder that complication and calls out for another gift of Lathander, creating a bubble of silence directly in front of the casters.

OOC

Casting Silence at where I put an arrow down on the map, directly in front of the casters. I kept trying to make the 40' circle, but it was making it solid white.

*FRONT ROW*

Yohan picked up his heavy mace and looks over the heads of the dwarves to see the spectre of death with a scythe floating before the dragonkin at the head of the enemy advance.

The front ranks on their side were holding, and Yohan decided his place was to strengthen the front ranks even more... and take on the enemy directly.

"Coming through..." Yohan pushes forward between the dwarven ranks with his shield and heavy mace until he reaches just before the spot where his blood still remains on the stonework... and goes into a defensive stance as he stands next to the raging dwarf ready to defend against any incoming attacks.

Actions .. OoC

knightly gear.. Scale armor, heavy steel shield, heavy mace, silver holy symbol
other gear.. Waterskin, Rations 10 day, healers kit (10)

main hand -- Holy symbol, Heavy Mace
off hand -- Heavy spiked steel shield


ooc: Baldin's cure light wounds heals 20 hp + Yohan's lay on hands 15 hp = 35 hp regained

Actions (B init 4th ... after Daltin)

  • standard Full defense ... +4 AC = 22 AC
  • move (base 20') ... move to front lines through Dwarves (if they let him)
  • immediate immune to fear .. allies 10' receive morale bonus +4 saves vs Fear ... immune to disease ... full defense +4 AC

Moon Elf Ranger from Neverwinter Wood


Qwynn gets his hands on some dwarven ale and feels bad for his stout friends as he is about to commit the ultimate crime. He begins rolling the barrel back to the stairs and hopes rolling it down will knock some of the advancing enemies back down a step or two so they can regain control of the area. "Finwe! Coming back with a barrel! Clear a path! I am sending it down!" He rolls the barrel as fast as he can.

HEY! WE COULD USE SOME REINFORCEMENTS OVER HERE!

Finwe calls out as he decides on his next move. Meanwhile the large hammer swings at its target again landing a solid blow. Making a choice he chants again and points at the Zombie that made it out of the webs. A fiery ray shoots from his hand and strikes the zombie charring its flesh and bones.

Spiritual weapon activated in round 1: Duration 7 rnds. Att: +4, Damage: 3d6

 

Hooded lantern with Continual Flame is hanging from his belt.

 

Kodo has scent so can detect them if they get within 30', but can only pin point them if they are within 5'. Unless he spends a move action concentrating and trying to locate the smell. Not sure if that is a skill or just a flat Stat check. I am guessing it would be Wisdom.

Daltin shrugs off the strikes and relentlessly attacks the beast, his axe leaving a trail of blood and gore with each swing from tip to end.

Group B


Dolan takes aim at one of the smaller decaying draconic beasts and lands a bolt directly between its eyes. The effect, as he'd anticipated, is less than it might otherwise be due to the creatures advanced decaying state.

Baldin utters another brief supplication to the Morninglord and suddenly the shouts from the cultists and casters on the stairs die out in an eerie snap.

Daltin lashes out at the large draconic warrior again and slices another wide gash in its hide.

The draconic warrior lashes out at Daltin again, a claw and foot fining a perch and ripping further into Daltin's abdomen.

Yohan moves valiantly forward to take the front lines, the dwarf warriors moving slightly to clear a path for the Morninglord's holy warrior.

A spellcaster down the stairs retreats some as the semi-translucent black scythe before Daltin and Yohan swipes at Yohan, drawing blood despite his defensive stance.

The draconic beast before Yohan spits out a glob of acidic spittle at the holy warrior, but the glob flies wide.

Beldas shouts out again.

"Keep the line! We're fending them off! For the glory of the Arcrown!"

As he speaks, the other caster down the stairs retreats and though he can no longer be heard, two small dragon shaped bolts of dark energy slam into Daltin.

The draconic beast before Daltin spits out a glob of acidic spittle at the enraged warrior, but the glob flies wide.

The cultists loose arrows at Daltin and Yohan, but all fly wide save one that shatters against Yohan's shield, narrowly missing his shoulder.

The dwarves, Bettargh included, return the favor with a volley of arrows of their own. Two sink into the shoulders of cultists, eliciting silent cries of pain.

Yohan gritted his teeth in the aftermath of a spectral scythe slicing through his position and leaving a trail of blood in it's wake.

The large spectre of death hovering before him was disconcerting, as was the horde of Dragonkin attacking them beyond that. It was time to go to work on the evil menace that threatened the dwarven stronghold. Yohan raised his heavy mace and brought down righteous holy fury upon the acid spitting dragonkin before bashing it with his shield.

*CRACK*... 9 blunt force trauma dam
*BASH*... 3 piercing dam

"..."

The Knight of Aster's battle plan was to take down one enemy at a time ... and with Lathandar's blessing they would be victorious.

Seeing that the larger creature seemed to be undead, and knowing just how pointless it was to try to attack the vulnerable areas on undead, Dolan instead takes aim at one of the two smaller creatures in front of the larger creature, letting a crossbow bolt fly in hopes of bringing them down before they could hurt anyone else.

Group A


The decaying skeletal remains of orc warriors close in and swing their falchions at the remaining dwarf warrior, his armor deflects most of the slashes, but one slips through his armor and opens a large gash along his chest!

The holy hammer smashes into the offending skeleton, shattering its skull to bone shards and dust. Finwe follows this with an incantation that scorches one of the zombies, reducing it to ash.

From down the stair, comes only silence.

The cultists within the webbing can still be heard struggling within the tightly knit strands of arcane webbing.

Qwynn shows up, rolling a barrel before him.

Two zombies, barely visible though the dense webbing, continue to struggle against it.

The lone dwarf warrior, still facing tough odds, fails to connect with his latest slash at one of the remaining skeletons.

Note 2: Close creatures in the web have cover (+4 AC), far ones have total cover (can't be attacked).

Forget that barrel and help us kill these things before the others break out of the web spell.

A quick chant (shield) to give himself some added protection and then he draws his rapier as he moves up next to the dwarf to try to help him.

The spiritual hammer takes a swing at one of the remaining skeletons, shattering the bones as it hits.

Dolan looses a bolt at the large, flying draconic beast. As it sinks into its chest, the bolt is more than it can take and it collapses to the stairs between the gathered cultists and draconic zombies, almost crushing some in its loud crash.

Baldin calls on the Morninglord once more to shatter the necromantic energies holding the two smaller draconic beasts together, but though his faith is strong, he does not manage to muster enough to shatter them.

His large foe defeated, an enraged Daltin does not blink as he lashes out at the smaller draconic beats before him. The waraxe sinks deep, but the yielding flesh of the dead beast softens what would otherwise be a more dire blow, absorbing much of the swing.

Yohan's blunt weapons prove more effective and though he doesn't quite connect with this shield, his mace, guided by his divine grace, lands a solid blow, crushing into the beast's shoulder and crushing it, though it elicits now show of pain from the animated scaly one.

The semi-translucent black scythe before Daltin and Yohan once more swipes at Yohan, but he is able to sidestep it this time.

The draconic beast before Yohan spits out another glob of acidic spittle at the holy warrior, but the glob flies wide once more. It then vanishes as if it never were!

Beldas shouts out again.

"The dragonkin has fallen, we're routing them!"

Two more small dragon shaped bolts of dark energy slam into Daltin, drawing him closer to collapse, though he shows no signs of pain or fatigue.

As the draconic beast before Daltin spits out a glob of acidic spittle at the enraged warrior, but the glob flies wide once more. It then vanishes as if it never were!

The cultists loose arrows at Daltin and Yohan, most fly wide but one sinks into Daltin's shoulder to half its haft. Two of them then drop their bows and draw blades to close with Daltin and Yohan, while the other two move up behind them.

The dwarves, Bettargh included, return the favor with a volley of arrows of their own. Once sinks into a wounded cultist while another grazes one of the cultists below.

Qwynn places the barrel near the stairs in case he needs to kick it down the stairs. Drawing his blades he readies himself for combat and starts stabbing at the enemy as they approach. "Nice webbing!" He compliments his caster friend on his spellcraft.


OoC

Going to position barrel near the dwarf's side, then he will draw his blades and start stabbing the enemy with his shortswords. I don't know if I can squeeze in and stab both skeletons or if I have to wait for the dwarf to relinquish his spot so I can attack. Either way I will roll and let you decide.
