There, somewhere in the depths of the Dwarven Mountain, a cure for the mysterious ailment stoneblood is said to reside, at least according to his court seer. Your people's numbers in Highhome have been dwindling for centuries, and should you fail, it could be the end of the once great stronghold.
No pressure though. You guys got this!
Tone: Light-hearted and fun despite the seriousness of the quest. You're dwarves afterall! You can't help but be brazenly flippant in the face of overwhelming odds, tragic fate, and almost certain doom. Plus the beermakers of the Dwarven Mountain are legendary! That might even make the trip more worth it than saving your people.

Savage Nentir Vale
A campaign runs with Savage Pathfinder, a slightly different version of SWADE, going for a cinematic feel here.
The game takes place in the world of the Nentir Vale, a settled frontier region dotted with ruins and monsters lairs. The game start in the Town of Fallcrest. Fallcrest is pretty much the hub and surrounded by farmlands. Travelers and traders come to Fallcrest being at the intersection between the old King Road and the dwarven trade road. The people of Fallcrest are mostly humans, halflings and dwarves. The local temples are for Erathis, Sehahine and Pelor.
A Nest of bandits near Fallcrest has been causing troubles, The Lord Warden is on the lookout for traveling or local sellswords to take care of the problem.

S I T U A T I O N
As space truckers on the starfreighter USCSS Montero, you are used to running "the Gauntlet" - the trade route connecting Anchorpoint Station and the Frontier. Your ship's cargo hold is packed with dozens of tanks containing dangerous Tritium gas which is in the process of decaying into extremely profitable Hellum-3. Usually large tanker modules are used to tow higher concentrations of the gas safe distances, but the Montero isn't rated as a commercial towing vehicle. However, this is a small run - special order for Weyland-Yutani's corporate account on Sutter's World, a newly established Frontier colony. While the trip so far has been a piece of the proverbial cake, the Montero's sensors developed a glitch. Moments before your crew left Anchorpoint, the sensors pinged contact with a sensor reflection as you activated the displacement drive and went FTL. Now you find yourselves awakening from hypersleep, ready to deliver your goods to the colony of Sutter's World.

This is to be a long-form campaign that takes place over several months (possibly even a year). Your time and commitment is invaluable; however, I do not intend to exhaust you. I expect at least one post per week - more are welcome but not required. Chariot of the Gods will focus on interpersonal relationships within a bleak, tragic, and terrifying setting. While there may be comedic and lively moments, this game is an Alien game at its core. Difficult material will arrive and your characters have a very real chance of dying a brutal death. Though they may die, I expect each of you to take the time to get attached and play your characters as realistically as possible. Hell, maybe some even fall in love. After all, what is a horror game without a little bit of trauma?

I will be accepting 5 players. If more are interested, then I am open to running concurrent games. This campaign was published with premade characters. Their character sheets are below. You may play one of these, tweaking personality and backstory to your preference. You may also create your own character. If you do not have access to the CRB, that's fine. Although this is a horror game and your characters will be placed in life-threatening situations, I expect players to be friendly with each other in OOC regardless of any character conflict. If Bob's character pulls a gun on Jane's character in fear, I don't expect Jane to harass Bob in OOC. In-game party conflict is expected.

I am a long-time lover of Alien, horror, and TTRPGs. So when I discovered Free League's Alien, I knew I had to have it immediately. Then the dreaded COVID hit and I ended up moving across the United States leaving me with no one to play this wonderful game with. Hopefully you will allow me to share it with you!

When the bombs dropped, the one aimed at Toronto missed its mark, landing in Lake Ontario, not only destroying the city in the explosion, but flooding the city with irradiated water as well. The skies were darkened with ash and temperatures plummeted, turning the city into a frozen wasteland, preserving much of the prewar society that escaped the immense heat of the blast within their frozen hearths. The nuclear winter affected much of the hemisphere north of Toronto, and progressively colder and colder temperatures as well as dangerously mutated flora and fauna forced survivors in the northern reaches of Canada south to the ruins of the larger cities.

Mystery Dungeon

This game for four adventurers is based on the solo adventure Four Against the Darkness. I will be using tables in D&D books from 1e to present to procedurally generate a dungeon and the creatures, treasures, and other things that fill it. I won’t even know the boss with the key until I roll him.
I am looking for four adventurers starting at level 1 using Faerun/Eberron books. Please no homebrew or Arcana. The books offer quite a bit of freedom in building characters. Just remember, if you have a boom stick, there will be nowhere to get ammunition…

THE SETTING
Centuries ago, the Opidian Valley was the center of a powerful kingdom of yuan-ti, whose hubris and wickedness knew no bounds. They were such a blight that it is said that even the land they lived upon was disgusted by them. Their mighty kingdom fell into ruin about the same time their massive slave population rose up against them and killed nearly every yuan-ti in the Valley.
What was once a lush jungle has slowly transformed into a blasted, arid wasteland that continues to get less and less habitable. From the center out, the sands that now dominate the Valley are turning to salt, and within a few centuries, life within the Valley will become next to impossible. The Ophidian Valley is truly cursed, and when it goes, so too will the people that live in it.
The yuan-ti were watched carefully by their neighbors as a dangerous enemy that had no qualms against raiding and enslaving anyone who came too close. With the wicked snakemen scattered, the slaves filled a power vacuum and founded a confederacy of four city-states in the south near the Dambia River. The confederacy quickly established itself as a mercantile power, largely because of their laissez farie laws and primitive firearms they had developed. As one of the world’s few sources of these weapons of war, people paid handsomely for their manufacture. Despite a general lack of resources and a limited capacity for agriculture, business has always been good in the Valley.
But today, the people of the Valley have become complacent. Dark things from the latter centuries are organizing in the deep deserts to the north and soon the quarreling civilization will be overrun by creatures they had long since thought dead. And in the meantime, the Valley is a ripe opportunity for enterprising adventurers with equal parts daring-do and foolhardiness to carve a name for themselves in the blood and sand.

THE GAME
Ophidian Sands is a (if you'll pardon the unintentional pun) sandbox game using the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition ruleset. It's a sword and sorcery campaign with light survival elements in a homebrew setting. This is the second game I have run in this world, the original of which was with my face-to-face group. My intention was to create a shared world, where the setting provides a skeleton for players to insert their own ideas without too much fear of upsetting an overprotective DM. I expect each player group and I will take the world in a different place with each iteration.
So as such, it's incumbent upon you as a player to be invested in being creative and accommodating of others' creativity. The game won't go anywhere if your character isn't somewhat self-winding. You'll need to provide an impetus for your character to go forth and interact with the world. This will be a player-driven game. It's my job to take the various story threads the players craft, tie them together, and give them tension.

It's important that I be up front with you that I'm using this game to test a number of extensive house rules that are born out of a desire to tinker with Fifth Edition to satisfy my personal tastes. RECRUITING NOTES
I have been playing in and DMing table top RPGs since 1997. I am not a perfect DM, so I do make mistakes. Having been a continually active member on the site for several years now, I have seen both good and bad examples of how it is done here. (With any luck, I'll manage to be one of the better DMs...) If that is a concern for you, I think my posting history speaks for itself, but feel free to do your homework on me to your satisfaction.
I have tried to be as explicit and thorough as I can so that this is as smooth a process as possible for you. To that end, I took the time to write up some policies and expectations from me you may wish to know about in the future. I am looking for 4-6 (depending upon quality of application) players who are dedicated to a long term game that are proactive in their posting, easy to get along with, and overflowing with creativeness.
Yes, I will accept a new player to the system. I believe a prospective player with a strong character concept that ties in well with the setting will not have to worry overly much system mastery or optimization. It is far, far more important that you create an interesting person to roleplay.

Welcome to an experimental Monster of the Week (MotW) adventure! Beginners are especially welcome. I can't yet tell you what the game is about as Monster of the Week is a Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) game and PbtA games are pretty much created in play by the players and GM.

It is said in Nihon that a rolling stone gathers no moss. For the Nihonjin, moss is a good thing, denoting something that has been there a long time, gathering wisdom and knowledge. This is a time of troubles, with a weak Shogun unable to rein in the Great Lords - the Daimyo - as they vie against each other to bring the country into order or subjugation, depending on their proclivities. The Emperor still commands the mandate from Heaven and his spiritual supremacy is unrivaled. But he commands the bushi through the Shogun.
In these times few stones have the luxury of standing still. Men, even samurai of the bushi class, flow around carried by the waves of fortune where she may take them. There is much suffering, but also much opportunity. With the blessings of the kami and the watchful presence of the Buddha, any man may reach greatness.
The setting is called Nihon, it is a mythical parallel to Japan in the Warring States period, roughly 1500 CE. This period is before the introduction of gunpowder and before contact with Europe. The supernatural is real, magic functions, but it generally falls into two categories: folk and religious magic, centered around Shinto and Buddhist rituals; and the supernatural world that is mysterious, dangerous and just below the surface. The Setting
The Terran Mandate, a TL4 civilization, is the planetary government of Terra, additionally administering the dozen or so colonies scattered throughout the solar system. Life offworld is difficult with no faster-than-light travel or communication, no artificial gravity, and no psychics to speak of. The approximately 13.2 billion inhabitants of the homeworld live free, relatively peaceful lives where their basic human rights are protected by a liberal, laws-based government. Terra is just a few short generations away from enjoying post-scarcity, with the creation of true AI, portable fusion, genetic medicine, advanced robotics, and nano-fabrication already enabling feats previously dreamed of in science fiction. It's not uncommon for a person from this era to live about 150 years. The future could not look any brighter for humanity.
But things are about to get a lot darker.
Somewhere in Northern, irradiated Greenland, a madman plays with forces mankind was not meant to manipulate. Piercing the metadimensions was akin to jamming a needle into a balloon, except the balloon was reality and the resulting pop was cosmic in scale. In an instant, the psychic backlash killed two-thirds of humanity on the spot, their brains burned out by metadimensional energies. Many that survived were driven stark raving mad. The lucky ones found their civilization in ruins, buildings crumbled, infrastructure and communications gone, and contact with the off world colonies lost.
The 20 years that followed the Scream, as the event is now known, were a time of utter upheaval for Terra. Children were born with the deadly Metadimensional Extroversion Syndrome, alien flora and fauna appeared from Elsewhere, surface terrain was either reshaped or replaced entirely, and the artificial intelligences that made Mandate civilization possible had their minds corrupted into twisted facsimiles of their former purposes, enslaving and terrorizing humanity.
But after all that, the beating heart of humanity begins to thrum again.
Today, some 80 years after the Scream, people are no longer worried about their day-to-day survival as they were before. Instead of being focused inward, they're beginning to look outward to the brave, new world they need to re-tame. Free people today live in sheltered Enclaves scattered across the globe. These are usually independent settlements with varying levels of defense and infrastructure rebuilt, often with familiar pre-Mandate era names. Most, however, are sequestered in the city ruins, where mad machine intelligences hold sway. Tech from the Terran Mandate is available for all who have the will to scavenge it, and people can and do grow up in parts of the world that resemble (mostly) functional, approximations of life before the Scream--albeit with a bit of a techy frontiersman's twist to it. If humanity came that close to paradise once, it can certainly do it again. It just needs to shake off the consequence of the last attempt. Doing that's going to take the blood, sweat, and tears of exceptional people who can think further ahead than their next meal.

The Game
Themes: Exploration/Rediscovery & Man vs. Machine
Alas, Babylon is a sandbox game using the Stars Without Number Revised Edition ruleset, which you can find for free [ HERE ]. Despite the post-apocalyptic trappings, I don't actually intend for hard survival to be big parts of the campaign. Instead, humanity is more concerned with discovering and understanding the new ecology of the world and winning its freedom from powerful, insane AIs left over from the Mandate. It's a game about exploration and rebuilding. There's a sense of determination that humanity will find a way re-tame the planet, even though it will take a few more generations to do it.
My intention is to create a shared world, where the setting provides a skeleton for players to insert their own ideas without too much fear of upsetting an overprotective GM. So as such, it's incumbent upon you as a player to be invested in being creative and accommodating of others' creativity. The game won't go anywhere if your character isn't somewhat self-winding. House Rules
Most rules will be used as written. Major exceptions are with ability score generation via point-buy, ability modifiers, and skill points upon level up. A modification to ammunition encumbrance should make for a bit less bookkeeping. See the character creation thread for explanations of these changes and more.

Recruiting Notes
I have been playing in and GMing table top RPGs since 1997. I am not a perfect GM, so I do make mistakes. Having been a member on the site for several years now, I have seen both good and bad examples of how it is done here. (With any luck, I'll manage to be one of the better GMs...) I think my posting history speaks for itself, so feel free to do your homework on me to your satisfaction.
This is my first time running a Stars Without Number game on the GM side of the screen, but I expect we can work out any bugs that may happen.
I have tried to be as explicit and thorough as I can so that this is as smooth a process as possible for you. To that end, I took the time to write up some policies and expectations from me you may wish to know about in the future. Hopefully, they will preemptively answer some common questions I have seen on game recruitment threads. You can find those [ HERE ].
I am looking for 4-6 (depending upon quality of application) players who are dedicated to a long term game that are proactive in their posting, easy to get along with, and overflowing with creativeness. Applications close on ZZZZZZ.
Yes, I will accept a new player to the system. I believe a prospective player with a strong character concept that ties in well with the setting will not have to worry overly much system mastery or optimization. It is far, far more important that you create an interesting person to roleplay.

The Fifth Blight
The first adventure is going to be pre-made and linear, so we can get used to each other. A merchant in the south of Ferelden is looking for guards for his caravan to the Chasind village he wants to visit. The PCs sign up and escort him there and back. However, in the Chasind village something dark is about to happen.
After this, the PCs will be free to pursue the main plot and their personal goals the way they want.
