Captain Arran strides down the street towards the Silver Hawk offices, stepping carefully to avoid the occasional horse droppings that make a careful line between well-worn cart tracks. The early morning light leaves half the buildings in shadow, and the air is crisp and fresh with the scent of pine and yesterday's rain.

"So" he says, looking back over the motley crew he's escorting, "You manage to come up with a name for yourselves?"

It should still be early morning.

It’s so cool to see the in-character discussions and problem solving going on!

I definitely check in on my phone during the day just to see what’s going on, but for actually working on things I like to get home and peck away at my laptop. It’s nice to be able to see a couple different things at once, take some notes into Obsidian, then formulate a coherent post.

I just wanted to let you all know that I’m around! Just watching and formulating next moves :)

I want you all to feel comfortable taking agency in the story, so for example if people want to write up a narrative of going shopping for supplies, then using the Player Handbook or DM’s guide to figure out cost, I’m completely ok with that! If you’re not sure on costs, just let me know what you’re buying and I’ll give you prices.

Thank you, Aspekt. I think it's safe to say that so far the game has been a blast. Comprehensive lore, maps, and your watchful care.

About the shopping, do you guys mind if I select or goods ooc and we divide the total costs?

@Coruja That's fine with me.

In character, Sherrin would defer to Sarah and the other experienced outdoorspeople regarding what to bring. OOC, she's already pretty much got everything she needs personally except water and food (unless we're relying on goodberry) and a cart if we're getting that.

Cart is a definite must. Goodberry sounds, well, good....but anyone who doesn't already have a 10-day ration set should probably invest in that as a backup...y'know, in case our Druid would like to keep her spellslots for that day or she suffers a tragic end several days into a travel montage, via random encounters.

You sell it so well!

I wasn't planning on depending on the healing magic for basic food. It's good when we are in a dungeon, but nothing takes the place of a flavourful and fulfilling meal. We have two or three people capable of hunting and foraging, my character is a cook, and I've been watching too much dungeon meshi at Netflix. 😆 😋

Personal inventory everyone should have

Waterskin, 2 sp, 5 lb. (full): A waterskin can hold up to 4 pints of liquid.

Rations (1 day), 5 sp, 2 lb.: Rations consist of dry foods suitable for extended travel, including jerky, dried fruit, hardtack, and nuts. (10×)

Mess Kit, 2 sp, 1 lb.: This tin box contains a cup and simple cutlery. The box clamps together, and one side can be used as a cooking pan and the other as a plate or shallow bowl.

Bedroll, 1 gp, 7 lb.

Cart inventory for the party

Cart, Vehicle (land), 15 gp, 200 lb.

Barrel, 2 gp, 70 lb.: A barrel can hold 40 gallons of liquid or 4 cubic feet of solids. (2× water fresh)

Ale (Gallon), 2 sp (6×)

Common Wine (Bottle), 1 gp, for cooking

Hunk of Cheese, 1 sp (10×)

Two-Person Tent, 2 gp, 20 lb.: A simple and portable canvas shelter, a tent sleeps two. (3×)

Feed (per day), 5 cp, 10 lb. (20×)

You may ask to include/remove items from the list.

Thanks for writing all that out.

Put Sherrin down for a 1/6 share of the Cart and Cart Inventory minus one Tent (4.36 Gp); she's got her own tent already and is willing to share.

Sherrin is also buying 5 days of Rations (2.5 Gp), 10 days of Animal Feed (0.5 Gp), and 5 flasks of oil (0.5 Gp) for herself, assuming she can find these things.

I totally forgot the animal feed. That's party expense. Not personal. About your tent, let's say you sell it to the party? Instead of paying your share, you will actually earn one share (1/6). That's the best way to make it reasonable for everyone.

Ps: I have a lot of free time. I check the forum several times each day. I actually refrain from posting all the time so that I'm not monopolizing the game.

Including 20 days of animal feed (1 Gp) and the third tent (2 Gp) with the rest, a 1/6 share should be 4.87 Gp (unless my math is wrong). Sherrin will contribute one tent and the ten days of animal feed she already has, and will pay the balance of her share in gold.

This stuff is absolutely available in town.
