Rand rubs the shin with another foot "Hey, refusing me before the first date is against some rules I think." He raises one bushy eyebrow at Tanith "The way you are looking at that book and where you could shank only another person who could use it and claim it's a mistake I'd say you are quite ok with doubling up. I, on the other hand, would be more than happy to donate my cloak if I can have that one. The amount of armor it would give me would exactly be my happy number, or the winning hand in one of the gambling games."

There is a brief pause "That I play because of their educational value, not gold since that would be so ungodly. So shorty if I bring you this Whalebone hogtied, we're on for a date?" he glances at Baren "My Drow wife was very lovely compared to my Stone Giant wife, although second one could be classified as kidnapping too, unfortunately, I was in the county where kidnapping was a perfectly legal way of obtaining a significant other. Usually, it would be prearranged as a custom that would remind them of darker days. The kidnapped side would come to kidnappers and girl/boy had to declare three times he's staying out of their free will. Then kidnappers would pay large amounts of livestock as dowry and everyone would be happy, a lovely piece of folklore...No one came for me, so I washed sheets, made lunch, and like in the lair Thundara the Towering for 4 months before I managed to leg it. "You're imagining things.. away with the fairies I conjure." whispers Tanith, replying to Rand's baseless assertion that there is anything aquisitive in her facial expression, which there isn't. Tanith removes the cloak from the corpse, but before offering it to Rand, she puts out her empty hand for the one he's wearing, holding the better cloak hostage until she recieves the one Rand is wearing.

She's not sure, and is equally uncertain about whether she truly wishes to know or not. Oh hey, a spellbook. The wizard could probably use that. Shame there were no loose scrolls among the items found, but the witch has found that loose scrolls tend not to last as long as 'treasure' unless specifically preserved in some way; like inside of a scroll case.

Her expression, as always, remains one of mild disinterest in most everything, save for the slight tensing of her shoulders after the explosion. She keeps her mouth shut, and hopes Daisuke will as well. He doesn't like being confined for very long, but it's most assuredly unsafe for him to be out here where something could pick him off. As if in response to her thoughts, Daisuke looses a faint, low growl. He helpfully informs his human that he is displeased with this turn of events, but understands well enough. He doesn't really want sand all over his paws anyhow.

Rand removes his Cloak but pauses when Tanith mentions fairies "Wait, you are conjuring faeries right?" He glances toward the "Waterskin" he's been using the entire day. "Maybe I had enough praying for today." He offers his Cloak

Then he looks at Yuki seemingly reading her passive face striking a proud pose "Paladins of Iomedae can't lie." He takes his place in line and adds "Thank f*ck I'm not one of them."

George

George was very surprised by the fireball, and joined Baran in his vigil, with no interest in the current loot. Still, listening to the others has distracted him temporarily from the desolation of their surroundings. He wasn't sure what worshippers of the drunken god would have to offer, but entertainment might as well be gold out here.

He smiles at their antics as he assists with establishing shelter, trying to maintain some watch all the while.

The cloak is Protection +2

The party need to decide on a watch order, usually, I do not get involved in "who gets what loot" but I will if there is a need.

Other decisions will be "are you lighting a fire? if so are you doing any cooking?

George pulls out some rations for dinner before looking at his hand and remembering the new ring, then turns to Mizzi "These rings sustain us, right? well, how does that work? If I eat a full meal and am also being sustained do I need to worry about... blockage? Do I even need to worry about eating?" to the rest of the party George suggests "We've got 8 by my count, how does everyone feel about 3 watches? I'll volunteer for first watch, no sure I could sleep yet anyways and second gets the bulk because it's the worst time to be surprised?"

Mizzi replied to George "the ring sustains so no need to either eat or drink, you can do it, but you do not need to" she says. To the whole party, she says "I think we should talk about loot, as in who gets what. My personal rule is anything that protects the wearer should go to the front liners first, magical healing potions should also go to the front liners first. Magical wands go to those who can cast the spell, if there is more than one that can then they usually sort that out between themselves. Weapons usually go to those that can make the better use of them, miscellaneous items like flying carpets and the like usually go to the mages. Now, any questions" she asked.

Mizzi looked at Yuki and said "there are libraries just sitting there, books of all manners just sitting there on the shelves and not being read. I am sure we could take a peak in some of these libraries. Now these rings mean you only need 2 hours of sleep, you still need to rest for the duration.

After it's been decided which watches people will take, Nyll will try to take advantage of getting the first sleep in, so she has more time after waking to explore the books as well. Her arcane talents aren't as good as a wizard or sorcerer, but adding to her own spellbook can prove vital. "Wake me on my watch." she says sleepily.

Nyll finds a spot well hidden and slides a small shelf in front of herself and then dozes off.

Tanith, puzzled by the fireball, gets less concerned about it as time goes on. "A ring that stops you falling to your death is the kind of ring that doesn't seem like you need it until you do.", she murmurs, clearly looking for someone to claim it besides herself.

 

Then, in accordance with the watches suggested by George, she closes her eyes and has some shut eye. When she wakes up for her shift, she works through the spellbook learning spells looking for spells she could see herself using. She looks for a Comfortable Room spell for Rand, but rope trick would drop them far enough to break limbs after six hours, with other spells being equally inadequate to the task. In the end, transcribes only a few spells into her spellbook, since the majority are spells she already knows.

SpheresYuki.png.607f4f156adade97a8248471538a021d.pngThe white-haired witch takes up a defensible position behind the more melee-focused party members and carefully sets down the container which Daisuke is held in. She opens it up with a soft smile and perhaps the largest "domestic" cat anyone has ever seen emerges, stretching languidly before demanding food and attention (albeit relatively quietly). He appears to be a shocking 38 inches in length from nose to tail.

"Hush you silly kitty, I'm fetching your food now." Yuki chastises the equally white-furred feline as she produces tiny amounts of meat from a sealed container in her pack and sets a few pieces out for him. The cat greedily consumes the food, despite having dried food bits lingering in his carry case from earlier. He takes the next several minutes to carefully groom himself by licking one front paw and using it to wash his face and head before settling down to take care of the rest of it.

After this, he naturally has to investigate and demand attention from anyone else visible as Yuki sets up her bedroll and prepares to go to sleep herself. Eventually, after getting his fill of pets from anyone he can bully into doing so, Daisuke finds the highest, most defensible location to hunker down in for the night. He's smart enough to know that it's dangerous outside the current shelter and he'll have to go back in the carrier tomorrow until they stop moving again. It's unpleasant to be confined for so long, but Mistress Yuki says it's safer that way due to his size. Closer proximity to her allows her to protect him better.

The dead of the night seemed to be just that, dead, it was on Yuki and Rand's watch that saw several bird-like creatures fly overhead. Then a fiery creature did the same, they were interested in the fireball area. Shambling figures turned up after that but wandered off seemingly bored, this brought home the real threat that this land held. When the resting was done and it was time to move on Mizzi asks "did anyone look this house over for any possible loot"?
