Level 2.1: Not so Wonderful Wonderland

Recommended Posts

Prospero hummed as he nodded "yes, the overseers usually good guys in my book or at least their interests align with those who put others before themselves,"

Ace scoffed slightly "that doesn't sound like something Riddle is. He's more for living by the rules no matter how strict they are.

Prospero hummed "holding to a particular order is also a trait of an overseer, that's why the direct involvement of one means there's big trouble."

Ace growled "great. Well let's go see if we can find Peter."

A chime sound would be heard

"Attention all guests, Banquet Preparations are nearly complete, please proceed to the main hall."

Prospero hummed "sounds like we should head to the Banquet hall." He looked at the others "unless you all have an objection."

Doofus sat and scratched his head, frowning as Prospero explained a little about the overseers. Though they were described as good guys, he felt that their role holding to an order made them sound a little too controlling for the little alien's liking.

However, the next sound brought a smile back to Doofus' face

"Dinna, dinna, dinna!!!!" shrieked the little blue fellow delightedly.

Yuu Chiba & Grim

Yuu nods in response to Gosalyn and answers pensively, "Yeah. I can't help but wonder if this larger threat is the Phantom Blot Headmage Crowley mentioned earlier...or if it's someone or something else entirely,"

She directs her attention to Prospero and Ace. She doesn't comment to Ace, but she does remember that Riddle learned his lesson to compromise with everyone at least a little after Overblotting, and generally speaking, he did care about the people in his dorm. So, in a way, it did make sense for Riddle to be an Overseer.

She was surprised to hear the announcement that the Banquet preparations were near completion and it was time to make their way to the Hall.

After Doofus shrieked with delight over the prospect of a meal, Grim laughs, "Wait til ya try Trey's pastries! They are the best!"

Yuu didn't comment on the food. Instead, she spoke seriously, "Be ready for anything, guys. And thank you again, for your assistance. Ace, I'll be hiding you in the cloak again. Make sure not to make any noise,"

Out of everyone, she would be the last to leave the room.

She needed to take a moment to herself and breathe deeply.

She is nervous about the next encounter. She was going to see Deuce, Trey, and Cater along with Not-Riddle(?), and there was a chance that the first three might not even recognize her, if they were even her friends at all.

She braced herself for the potential chaos to ensue...keeping a closed fist close to her heart as though it could help slow her heart rate down while she took a couple of breaths.

With thoughts and emotions composed, she quickly followed after her friends.

Level 1 Feat: Martial Adept
You have martial training that allows you to perform special combat maneuvers. You gain the following benefits:
You learn two maneuvers of your choice from among those available to the Battle Master archetype in the fighter class. If a maneuver you use requires your target to make a saving throw to resist the maneuver's effects, the saving throw DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice).
You gain one superiority die, which is a d6 (this die is added to any superiority dice you have from another source). This die is used to fuel your maneuvers. A superiority die is expended when you use it. You regain your expended superiority dice when you finish a short or long rest.

Commander's Strike: When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can forgo one of your attacks and use a bonus action to direct one of your companions to strike. When you do so, choose a friendly creature who can see or hear you and expend one superiority die. That creature can immediately use its reaction to make one weapon attack, adding the superiority die to the attack's damage roll.

Tactical Assessment: When you make an Intelligence (Investigation), an Intelligence (History), or a Wisdom (Insight) check, you can expend one superiority die and add the superiority die to the ability check.

Arcane Recovery: You have learned to regain some of your magical energy by studying your spellbook. Once per day when you finish a short rest, you can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your wizard level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher.
For example, if you're a 4th-level wizard, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots.
You can recover either a 2nd-level spell slot or two 1st-level spell slots.

Arcane Deflection: At 2nd level, you have learned to weave your magic to fortify yourself against harm. When you are hit by an attack or you fail a saving throw, you can use your reaction to gain a +2 bonus to your AC against that attack or a +4 bonus to that saving throw.
When you use this feature, you can't cast spells other than cantrips until the end of your next turn.

Tactical Wit: Starting at 2nd level, your keen ability to assess tactical situations allows you to act quickly in battle. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Intelligence modifier.

4th Level ASI: +2 INT

4th Level Feat: Eldritch Adept
Studying occult lore, you learn one Eldritch Invocation option of your choice from the warlock class. Your spellcasting ability for the invocation is Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma (choose when you select this feat). If the invocation has a prerequisite of any kind, you can choose that invocation only if you're a warlock who meets the prerequisite.
Whenever you gain a level, you can replace the invocation with another one from the warlock class.

Eldritch Invocation: Armor of Shadows
You can cast mage armor on yourself at will, without expending a spell slot or material components.

Power Surge: Starting at 6th level, you can store magical energy within yourself to later empower your damaging spells. In its stored form, this energy is called a power surge.
You can store a maximum number of power surges equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of one). Whenever you finish a long rest, your number of power surges resets to one. Whenever you successfully end a spell with dispel magic or counterspell, you gain one power surge, as you steal magic from the spell you foiled. If you end a short rest with no power surges, you gain one power surge.
Once per turn when you deal damage to a creature or object with a wizard spell, you can spend one power surge to deal extra force damage to that target. The extra damage equals half your wizard level.

Researcher: When you attempt to learn or recall a piece of lore, if you do not know that information, you often know where and from whom you can obtain it. Usually, this information comes from a library, scriptorium, university, or a sage or other learned person or creature. Your DM might rule that the knowledge you seek is secreted away in an almost inaccessible place, or that it simply cannot be found. Unearthing the deepest secrets of the multiverse can require an adventure or even a whole campaign.

Enduring Spellbook: This spellbook, along with anything written on its pages, can't be damaged by fire or immersion in water. In addition, the spellbook doesn't deteriorate with age.

Peter's Sheet

Peter Looked at the lady in disbelief. "Wow that is very simple to do, knowing our luck when it comes down to it I doubt it be that simple.... Hold the path door open to never land!" Peter thought as he looked at her a bit more closely. "I don't mean to ask you this but how ..... exactly do you know Ace?" He asked her quietly witch at this point he should not take any more time from the girl most likely going to get into some trouble, or someone else will start asking questions bout this whole thing. Witch to this point he should be getting back to the others. Depending on her response (And after words of her response) Before leaving Peter will then thank her one last time and start heading back to the group. Hoping he did reasonable enough to satisfy Yuu's need of a backup plan or Mr. "Shut it Minion!" would have another  thing to have a hissy fit with later. Last thing he needs is everyone having their own fit and the cat to have his own just to add insult to an injury, no thank you. Looking back behind him in case anyone was looking at him suspiciously or other wise bad intent in the eyes of other employees or guards on the way back to the ship. One can never be too careful

When Peter asked his question, the maid girl smiled at him "oh I'm his wife, Emma Trappola..." She made a noise "oh I mean well I was his wife..." She hummed "for about 2 weeks." She shook her head "but I've known him for a while we started dating a while back after I confessed to him and although we had different interests and for a bit I thought he was going to ghost me but then he surprised me on my birthday giving me a gift and making a promise to me that he and I would be together and once we got old enough to marry and he completed his card soldier training." She hummed "that was about two months ago..."

"Emma." A firm male voice spoke

A older man wearing a baker's apron with a distinct club suit motif was nearby

Emma gasped slightly "Mr. Clover."

The man hummed "have you finished cleaning the tables."

Emma hummed

The man exhaled "please get back to work, I know the rules aren't as strict as before but we don't need the king or the prince to get upset."

Emma made a noise "right... I'm sorry." She gave a soft smile to Peter "please excuse me I have to get back to work." She bowed lightly and then moved to another table to get to work,

Mr. Clover exhaled "Sorry for cutting in but we do have to keep working to setup the banquet for you all in time for the prince's return. If you have any questions or requests for the menu please let me know now"

  • 3 weeks later...

The group would make it to the Banquet Hall. They would see it was lightly decorated and filled with food and drinks with many tables filled with quite a few soldiers all seemingly having a good time however there was a distinct air of lightheartedness, a far cry of what one would expect from a stiff formal gathering but a normal feeling for a massive party designed to have people relax, eat, and drink. The group would be escorted over to a table towards the back of the hall where the King and the Jack of Spades were having a discussion over food.

The King noticed the group "ah my friends please come sit down and join us, my son and his team should be along soon. In the meantime, enjoy what we have to offer, I highly recommend the tarts,"

The group would take seats and after getting settled digging into the offered food.

However about 5 minutes into eating, a servant ran in and whispered something to a nearby soldier. The soldier flinched, swallowed a mouthful and quickly wiped his mouth. "The Prince is coming!" He announced

Like a wave of water, this announcement quickly spread to the other tables as the party goers stopped what they were doing and prepared to do something formal by straightening their outfits or wiping up their faces, the air in the room would drop from a fun atmosphere to a stiff and formal one.

The King sighed as this occurred then he checked a pocket watch "right on the dot..." he grumbled

"as expected by him my liege." Blackjack commented evenly

A moment later the doors opened sharply, and Prince Riddle entered into the room followed by three faces familiar to Yuu, with Deuce Spade, Trey Clover and Cater Diamond. However instead of school uniforms like Yuu is familiar with, all three appear to be wearing Chain shirt armors with their specific card suits as decorative motifs.

"Attention!" A shout was heard

The soldiers all stood up turned to face the center of the room and took a respectful saluting stance. The servants in the room would stand in a stiff stance almost like they were also awaiting orders

Riddle would look around for a moment, gain a proud smirk and walked to the center of the room "Good to see some order can be kept in my presence, as you all were, this is a banquet for all after a hard day of combat and training and to welcome our guests. Enjoy."

"Thank you, your majesty," The unified response was heard

"Carry on." Prince Riddle stated evenly

The atmosphere would slowly return to a normal party.

Riddle walked with the others towards his father's table, "Father." He stated evenly then bowed his head showing respect

The King sighed "always have to make an entrance right my son."

Riddle hummed "My apologizes for disrupting the festivities father but if a legion of soldiers does not show attention and respect to their highest commanding officer when he enters then how will that prove to the officer that he can trust his legion to follow his orders in the field of combat."

Blackjack chuckled "he does have a slight point your majesty. Besides note how quick he was to allow things to continue. We would never have gotten away with that before yes?"

The King sighed "true true, it is a lot better than before."

Riddle gave a slight look at Blackjack "Blackjack are you telling me that you did not like how things were before my father took over from my mother."

Blackjack sighed "My apologizes my prince but yes I did not like it,"

Riddle exhaled "I'm finding few that did." He commented then bowed his head then turned his head to Yuu "I note that Yuu Chiba is sitting to your left Father, is there a reason for that."

Deuce, Trey and Cater all turned surprised as they looked at Yuu. The expressions on their faces one of surprise

The King hummed "she and her friends are the honored guests my son and a welcome one at that. I apologize if you're upset by that."

"no not upset at all." Riddle stated then smiled at Yuu "I truly appreciate her coming even if it was not expected to happen by most. Miss Chiba, you and friends enjoy the party, if you find anything to your displeasure, please let me know and I will have something done about it." He bowed his head to them "Deuce, Trey, Cater..." He stated "let us go sit and eat, I know today was particularly rough."

"uh right my liege." Deuce stated as his expression was one of both confusion and uncertainty.

"yes my liege." Trey stated seriously.

"Right behind ya my liege." Cater chirped.

Yuu Chiba & Grim

Soon enough, Yuu and Grim were in the Banquet Hall with the rest of the party. It felt like they arrived too quickly. She had briefly mentioned to Peter Pan upon reuniting with him, "We'll compare notes on what we found later," It was clear why: The Banquet was the wrong place and wrong time to discuss what each group found.

Yuu was mentally prepared for anything to happen, while Grim is practically salivating over the food present. Anything serious about his demeanor immediately evaporated like water in a desert.

When the King invited them to sit down and join them, Yuu leads the group with a polite thank you to the King.

For the first five minutes, Yuu takes slow and small bites, while Grim scarfs down everything that was put on his plate. It would be obvious to everyone that Grim's plate has larger portions of food, while Yuu's are much more sensible. Yuu does notice the Chestnut tart and opts for a small slice of it. She had a feeling that the particular dish could help jog memories, just as it did for her.

Then came the announcement that the Prince was coming. Yuu took a deep breath, wiped her mouth, and stood up. She quietly gestured to Gosalyn, Doofus, Peter Pan, and the rest of the party to stand up as well. She picked up Grim by the scruff so that he could see, as well as get him to stop eating.

She watched as Riddle made his entrance with Deuce, Trey, and Cater by his side, and listened as the discussion took place. She looked at Blackjack as he stated that he didn't like how things were before the Queen of Hearts.

Then Riddle's attention was directed to her! She had to hold back a grin at the trio's surprised faces. They were hilarious, but she did come to the sobering realization that they were looking at her like she was a unicorn or something else that shouldn't exist.

She gave a small smile in return to Riddle when he smiled and stated that he was glad that she was there. She answered him politely, "Thank you, Your Highness. We truly appreciate the hospitality,"

Before she could add that she was glad to see that they returned safely, Grim chimed in, "All of the food is delicious! I don't know how anyone wouldn't be happy this!"

Yuu chuckled and she adds in, looking at the three for a reaction, "Especially the chestnut tart. Our compliments to the chefs and bakers,"

After Riddle states that the three of them should go to eat, Yuu takes the opportunity and speaks once more, "Your Highness, if I may..."

She then begins her request that she prepared mentally, "I apologize if this request is rude, but there is much I would like to discuss with you and I do not wish to bring down the mood of this banquet. Could we perhaps meet afterwards? "

Yuu directs her attention to Deuce, Trey, and Cater, and she adds speaking to Riddle, "I think it would be good if Deuce, Trey, and Cater were a part of this discussion as well. I get the sense the three of them have questions for us,"

Grim laughs, "That's an understatement! It's practically written on Deuce's face!"

Yuu's statement about the Chestnut tarts doesn't trigger and particularly noteworthy expressions from the trio, however when she asks Riddle to meet with her and bring the Trio along with to discuss stuff and answer questions along with Grim exposing that Deuce's expression gave him away, the reactions were as follows.

Deuce coughed in embarrassment as he glanced towards Trey with an expression of "oh boy I'm going to get it now..."

Trey stared at Deuce with a "how many times do I have to tell you..." Look then let out a light exhale of annoyance.

Cater made a light snicker but coughed to stop himself but you could still tell he was amused by the wordless exchange simply by the smile he had on his face.

Riddle hummed as he glanced back at Trey and Deuce, his expression and glance signaled that he was wordlessly questioning Trey about the truth of the statement.

Trey looked at Riddle "apologizes my liege..." He lowly muttered "but..." His eyes snapped to Yuu and then back to Riddle signaling the topic was about Yuu in particular.

Riddle hummed as he made a light hand gesture to signal that he didn't need Trey to speak any further. He then turned back to Yuu with an expression of annoyed acceptance "I suppose I could adjust my nightly schedule and discuss things with you and the others. We will meet with you after this banquet concludes in the west wing guest lounge."

Upon that being accepted, the four moved and got seated at the right side of the king. However, both the king and Blackjack had heard this request and response.

Blackjack hummed in thought "most curious... the prince actually willing to adjust his nightly schedule without raising a fuss." He muttered.

The King of Hearts became dismissive "it's a good habit to get into, restricting yourself to an unbendable schedule is very bad to one's state of mind, One must be flexible otherwise they will be broken."

Blackjack hummed "true but it's still curious when he wouldn't make personal adjustments without making a fuss for you my liege but yet when Miss Chiba makes a request he's willing to adjust. The two have never meet before today have they?"

The King of Hearts hummed "not to my knowledge." He turned toward Riddle "My Son, question, you seem familiar with Miss Chiba, have you two met before today because I would think I know anyone who knows my son."

Riddle hummed "My encounter with Yuu this afternoon after Legion's attack was the first time I have met her however upon meeting her today I can't help but feel like I know her and well let's just say Father, if she has a topic or topics to discuss with me and the others of my group that she doesn't want to spoil a banquet over then I have to respect her sense of sensitivity after all one does not discuss certain topics at a party, that is what you often state right Father."

The King of Hearts hummed "yes, yes you are right my son..."

Blackjack hummed "but still my lieges I have to be curious on what she wishes to discuss with you my prince. If it is a matter that concerns Wonderland then..."

"if it concerns Wonderland," Riddle cut in with authority "then I will be more then willing to inform you and my father about the topics after the discussion is complete and I determine that it is something that needs to be known to you two but not here in front of the troops or now during a banquet that is supposed to be a time of feasting and relaxation am I clear"

"As crystal my son." The King of Hearts stated

Blackjack frowned then gave a glare at Trey

Trey shifted himself slightly as if to put Riddle between him and Blackjack.

Riddle gave Blackjack a stare "I didn't hear you respond Blackjack. Do I have to remind you of your place."

Blackjack bowed his head to submit himself "no, no my prince you are as clear as crystal as the king says. I am under your command."

Riddle gained a smug smile "good... don't forget that, " He turned away

An exhale like growl seem to come from Blackjack.

Yuu Chiba & Grim

At first, Yuu was sure that she was going to be refused. But much to her relief, he accepted! After Riddle accepted the request to meet and discuss things later, Yuu felt hopeful and she couldn't help smile genuinely (one that probably rivals one of Kalim's smiles) instead of giving a mere polite smile. She answered his acceptance politely, "Thank you, Your Highness. Truly!"

Yuu sat back down and set Grim down as Riddle, Deuce, Cater, and Trey left and sat at the table to the King's right. She and Grim pay attention as Blackjack and the King talk and ask Riddle. Their smiles were gone as they listened in, and watched their body languages.

The both of them could see the familiar red flags Blackjack displayed, and are immediately reminded of Jamil Viper during their time in Scarabia. The both of them had to keep themselves from grinning as they felt glee from Blackjack's irritation. There was that familiar glee from seeing a snake like him got from things not going his way...

What helped them keep those grins away was Trey Clover. Or rather...the person who looks like Trey Clover.

Grim whispered what he noticed into Yuu's ear and she nodded to him.

Seeing Blackjack clearly hold that expectation for Trey Clover to report to him, even if it was against Riddle's orders were one thing, but seeing Trey Clover hide behind Riddle from his glare gave her a clearer guess at what the warnings given to her were about. They weren't about Riddle or this Overseer. They were about Trey!

The Trey Clover she knew would never use Riddle as a shield, not even for something so minor as a glare.

Now that she thought about it, the fact that Blackjack is a traitor would make why the Blight or Legion adhered to the schedule any sense (other than the barrier above the Kingdom). Any enemy who wanted to obliterate their enemy would use their schedule to their advantage. She also couldn't help but think of the concern Trey Clover showed earlier, and how Blackjack's expectation drastically changed the context for that concern.

Grim was clearly antsy to reveal anything, but Yuu knew that it was best not to start anything. She instead remained quiet, but she knew that she needed to think about how to handle the future discussion.

She regains a polite smile as she continues about the banquet like everything is normal. She and Grim even try to make small talk amongst the people who engaged in converasation with her.

But she does take a lifesaving move out of Leona's playbook during the Fairy Gala incident. She 'absentmindedly' traces the shape of a clover on the table with her fingertip to not leave any remaining marks, and traces an X over it with a finger. She would also trace an arrow going from the clover to a 21 (21 makes Blackjack). This fiddling was only for the person sitting next to her (Gosalyn, Doofus, Peter, Lilly, or Prospero) to see.

Gosalyn squirmed during the long discussion but she kept her agreement to let Yuu to do the talking these were her friends after all. She wasn't one to pass up a feast as she carefully followed her manners. Sitting next to Yuu she would notice her scratching on the table trying to make out what she was trying to say. Something about blackjack was suspicious? She would try to kick the chair next her quietly in acknowledge and then carefully watch for any infractions of the Rules or any action that caught her eye.

Doofus had never been to a King's banquet before, and as they made their way to the dining hall he wondered if he should smarten himself up? With his long tongue he absentmindedly licked the inside of both ears, then raked his many claws through the fur on his head to try to get the tufts to stay down...which they steadfastly refuses to do!

Taking his seat, he tried his best to be respectful and polite...it was kinda like watching someone with a ferret down their trousers! He was clearly out of his comfort zone and for a second he wished he were somewhere else. That was until the pastries appeared!!!

When the Prince arrived, Doofus just about remembered to stand up. and throughout the discussion he kepy his mouth shut...with the aid of those delicious tarts.

Yuu clearly thought something was amiss, so the little blue alien stared menacingly at...well, everyone really (particularly anyone who looked like they might take his share of the grub.

With a contented sigh, he turned his attention to the fellow called Blackjack, who seemed to have a lot to say for himself. Could Doofus smell a rat?!

With watchful eyes, Gosalyn could detect Blackjack continuous displeasure about not being able to get informed of an upcoming private conversation and his forced rank to being under the prince. She could also see Trey being uncomfortable and hiding himself from line of sight from Blackjack almost as if he's using the prince as a human shield so that he can block whatever Blackjack's line of sight was doing. She was quick to lock onto the idea that Blackjack was attempting through the use of a glare to reinforce his command over Trey.

~~~
As Doofus attempted to smell a rat, something about Blackjack bugged him, He wasn't fully sure what, but Blackjack reminded him of Jumba his creator whose morally questionable ideals always seemed to cause problems for his ohana, and Blackjack was giving off that same exact feeling.
@MysteriousMiller @drealynn
Hmm... Blackjack, don't think I know that character from Wonderland, hey players somebody find me one of the books (give me a History Check) and see if I can get a lock on his data. Anyone's who character has read or had the stories read to them gets advantage on the roll.
A low growl came from Doofus' throat as he stared at this Blackjack fellow. Something just wasn't right about him and the more the little blue alien stared, the more his hackles stood on end. He reminded him of Jumba...and that really wasn't a nice thought!
When he was young, he'd enjoyed hearing the stories about this place and the little girl who'd travelled here. He loved all the wild characters, like the big grinning cat and the crazy hat guy, but he couldn't recall a character called Blackjack.
Doofus screwed up his face, concentrating as hard as his tiny brain would allow as he dredged through those memories.
Peter's Sheet
Peter Sat next to Doofus not caring for what diplomats or high ranking, heck or even any type of hierarchy as some form of system. Its just a bunch of rules that no one really wanted to do anyways and just gets people irritated. While it has been amusing its clear enough that a low growl from Doofus makes him really looking at the man now and apparently something is definitely off. Clearly Peter cannot put it all together yet but something about Blackjack. Generally speaking this smells like this night was about to go from nice party to full blown war but its very clear that Trey is hiding from blackjack and black jack not liking everything. He starts to read the room and tries to get a better idea of what is about to happen.
  • 2 weeks later...
From Peter's causal look around, everything seems to be fine and peaceful with most not noticing the verbal clash between Riddle and Blackjack.
As Doofus tries to recall the alice stories, he remembers one time the group decided to watch a rather strange sequel style version of the Alice in Wonderland story that seemed to be a story of an adult version of Alice revisiting the wonderland of her childhood as a young adult, this particular version had quite a few surprises and differences to the characters that made things scary if he had to put a word to it. However, one of those scary things was a certain man in black armor wearing a black heart shaped eyepatch who seemed to follow the orders of the Red Queen going after people who went against her like Alice and eliminating them almost like Gantu did with Stitch. He didn't remember the armored man's name, but Blackjack seemed to be similar to him.
~~~

As the party went on things seemed to be pretty causal and happy with everyone having a good time. However the banquet was soon finished,

The King sighed in contentment. "A rather enjoyable array of dishes wouldn't you say Captain Prospero.

"Indeed your majesty," Prospero agreed "Your court's kitchen staff have outdone themselves. I might request the recipes for my own galley chef if you don't mind me doing so."

"not at all, not at all, I'm happy to share good things with those I consider my friends. However, this evening might I ask for your council for tomorrow's plans. Your arrival was a good surprise and I do believe your presence will give us an advantage in the combat tomorrow, but I believe I need to fill you in on particular things that are going on before tomorrow to make sure you understand exactly everything that's going on."

"of course, your majesty," Prospero replied smoothly "I'll be happy to discuss such things with you."

"I would invite Miss Chiba along as well." The King stated evenly "but since she's requested a meeting with my son to discuss things of their own. I do not wish to cause a conflict."

Riddle gave his father a suspicious look "I trust you will inform me of any special battle plans before the next day's combat begins Father. I would hate to have to lead my legion into combat unaware of any plans you might have that would cause a different move to be needed instead of a normal one."

The King smiled at his son "of course my son, I will have the orders set for you by dawn tomorrow."

Riddle hummed "thank you."

Prospero hummed as he looked at Yuu "I'll fill her and the rest in later tonight, your Majesty. There is no need for both of us to go." He gave a wink to Yuu suggesting that he would cover the king and keep them in the loop for anything he discovers.
