"Edmund, what sort of signal will you send if you see them? Or should I just listen for the shouting? I definitely think we need to move the Bandersnatch into the branch tunnel. I was thinking of summoning a foul looking creature once Edmund signals her arrival to slow her people from realizing the Bandersnatch is the actual goal and that it is already dead."

"Alas, the bandersnatch is too large to be easily moved. We just need some means to prevent them from noticing that it is dead? I can uncork my Eversmoking Bottle and allow its smoke to fill the cave.

"In any case, Master Kendrick, have you determined the best way to set up a collapsing ceiling or wall?"

"I can move some of the hollowed stone around the Bandersnatch in piles like stalagmites to make it harder for them to see and assess as well. I think living a floor approximately half an inch think should do the trick. We can do the ceiling if you have some way to initiate the collapse otherwise we may need to hollow out the floor.

Though now that I think about it, I could use Telekinesis to hurl a large rock into the ceiling and initiate the collapse. Yes, we can start hollowing the ceiling now. Should I center it above the Bandersnatch or above the entrance?"

"Hm, while you do your thing, I'll be off looking for a good hiding spot, m'kay?", Edmund remarks and prepares to stroll off and do just that.

"Master Kendrick, you are the master of Stone Shape, so I will defer to your expertise. From my perspective, though, if you hollow out the floor, you may catch one or two of our opponents before the others catch on. I think that we stand a better chance of catching the whole group if you shape the ceiling."

" What say you, Duncan and Edmund? A trap above the bandersnatch or above the cave entrance?"

Duncan thinks for a moment. "For our next enemies to be able to defeat the roc, they are most likely highly mobile - perhaps even with the ability to fly. Our trap should limit their ability to use that to their advantage."

“Kendrick, I think that a trap above the cave entrance would be the most effective placement, given that Izenfen will most likely send scouts into the cave first.”

Kendrick went to work immediately, siphoning stone through an inlet which he created. He ran the siphoned stone alng the interior cave wall to the left of the openig, hoping it would appear more or less natural.

"Let us hope they are not experienced in cave exploration."

Stone ShapeKendrick can move 26 cubic feet per casting. He has seven castings.

I will leave a layer 1/2 an inch thick. He will hollow out a 10x12 area hollowed to depth of one cubic foot above the ceiling stone.

The 10 foot side will be centered on the middle of cave entrance and exten 5 feet to either side. That will give us 12 feet of hollowed ceiling extending inti the cavern.

I will find a nice heavy rock and hurl it via telekinetics to trigger the trap. Kendrick will have one casting of stone shape left. He will use that to form a chest high pit to provide himself concealment/cover while he waits to hurl the stone.
