Seeing Dolan seeming to have a problem with this lock Finwe glances up the hall at the other two doors.

Maybe we should check the other two doors first and then come back for this one if needed? They may all leading into the same room and one of the others might not be locked?

Is it possible that the problem is not you can't pick the lock, but rather that something is holding the door closed from the other side? A bar or something heavy pushed up against it?

Not being an expert on locks he is unaware of whether Dolan can tell if he has successfully open the lock without trying to open the door.

Qwynn and his cooshee, Myali, follow behind the scouts with his lantern lit. While Dolan tries to get the door unlocked he will shine the beam of light as far above their heads to better examine the area they are it. While he does see like the reason behind the bright lantern announce their presence to the denizens of the dark he feels that piercing their shadowy cloak is better than allowing them to gain advantage from it.

"I will use my lantern to see what lurks above us."

Using the lantern's range to see what might be hiding above them while Dolan works the lock.

Qwynn finds little above you, the barrel vaulted ceiling here topping out roughly ten feet above your heads. Baldin's suggestion seeming wise, you reset the trap as Dolan works away on the door. It take a short while, but Dolan manages to work the lock and swing the heavy stone door open, into the hallway in which you stand. Beyond lies what appears to be a smaller empty chamber, it's floor caked with dust.

Similar efforts with the adjacent doors follow, all taking some time, but each reveals only a similar empty, dusty chamber beyond.

Well, that is disappointing. Shall we check the rooms and this hall for hidden doors or do you just want to move on? Personally I say we check just to be sure, then move on.

If the group decides to check for hidden doors he will help.

Qwynn points his light in the direction Finwe suggests to check. Still cautious of potential danger he feels better with his cooshee nearby. Nodding to his companions he is ready to explore more.

Your careful searches take a while, but ultimately, turn up nothing. Which is perhaps as much a revelation as a concealed door may have been.

Minding the pressure plate that would trigger the trap, Dolan decides to investigate the corridor to the east of their present location, which had been missed when they were exploring the cult territory up the ramp to its east. Keeping his enchanted elven dagger in one hand and the glowstone in the other, Dolan maintains a watchful eye on the ground while he investigates that corridor.

Moving to the mouth of the passage, Dolan immediately senses he'd been here before, though mayhap not down the corridor. This is quickly and grimly confirmed by Bettargh. Shinning a lantern down the long passage, you can all see it is blocked by a massive veined, off white stone plug. A couple of worn picks and wooden buckets rest among shard of stone. The dead end corridor is otherwise empty.

Recognizing the area, Dolan agrees with Finwe and turns, leading the group southward with the glowstone and his dagger drawn, keeping his eyes peeled for both traps or unwanted company.
