Howdy all!!!

This site was recommended to me by a buddy of mine since I'm new to PBP so I'm stoked to get into all of this :)

Played plenty of TTRPGs over the years. Itching to try all of this out. So expect to find me lurking in the PF2E, AD&D2e, and C&C posts >:)

Whereas PF2E is more my speed! But we have lots of great games to enjoy, and PBP is quite a fun way to do it. Welcome aboard! There ain't no bettah gaming site anywhere than here, and I am sure that you can find something you like. What appeals to you about PBP? What kinds of fantasy games are your favorites?

Welcome to the Weave, Mel. I very much recommend not lurking, but getting in there and getting those feet wet sooner than later. It's a lot easier to figure things out by diving in.

Anyhow, in case you haven't seen it yet, here's a link to our Baldr User Guide, which contains several handy links that you will likely find useful. We do things a touch differently than some other sites, where we have game ads posted and prospective players apply. You'll want to swing over by our Game Ads section to check that out! Every GM does it a little differently, so check the campaign info and forum for the exact details.

We support a very wide variety of systems here, ranging from good ol D&D (of all editions) to Pathfinder to Shadowrun to Fate to PbtA to OSR to, well, I don't think there's a system we don't support or have players for. So if you spot something outside of your norm that catches your attention - go ahead and apply for it anyways. There is much to be gained by going outside of the box, after all.

Also, I recommend getting chatty through out the forums or even dropping by our Discord Channel, especially if you have questions. Just watch out for those welcoming harpoons - they're harmless... mostly 😂

If you have any questions, let us know! Don't be afraid to ask, either - we do our best to help people out.

AD&D 2e? 😀 Speaking my language... along with older editions. Currently running the game from my 1983 Red Box basic D&D!

You read that correctly!!! That red box BECMI has some of the loveliest layout work!!!

Well y'all are certainly more chatty and overall excitable than some other sites I've checked out! Major win already.

As for what is appealing about PBP I think mostly comes down to being able to 1) enjoy a wider variety of games that I've always wanted to play/run and 2) it seems like I can do all of that while maintaining my current workload. :) Given my career AND side gig with commission work, there's just no time. lol

I prefer grittier, dark/low fantasy. Games with plenty of role-play, exploration, and challenging combat. I always point to the SoulsBorne games, Dragon's Dogma, Baldur's Gate I & II, Divinity, Dragon Age I & II, Witcher I-III, and Legacy of Rain as my all time favorites for those elements.

Nice! Glad to see more fans of classic gaming around here. I have a C&C campaign that I'm looking to start soon.

Hit me up when you start it! I'll keep an eye out too. Also I'm one of TLG's newer artists so, yknow, no pressure ;P

But what if I want to be hit by a harpoon? Could be a fun new experience 🤪😜

I'll absolutely do some jumping into the deep end. Thank you for being so welcoming and informative!!!! Hope you're having an awesome day 😎
