prophane Posted November 24, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted November 24, 2023 (edited) Location: Foreign Quarter, City and Domain of Greyhawk Date: Moonday, Third of Growfest (festival week) Time: around 4:30pm Weather: Moderate, 66°, partly cloudy, steady, light breeze from the northwest Sunrise/set: just before 6am/ just after 6pm Characters Present: Alvan, Emily, Fili, Hank, Harolde, Richard, Vidar Following Alvan's lead, the group winds their way back through the Old City to the Black Gate. Then through the Artisans' District, across the Millstream and into the Foreign Quarter. The streets here are nearly as crowded as back in the Old City and Alvan's path takes the party to a slightly less busy street. Several of the bulidings on this street appear to be abandoned or boarded up. There are a handful of people walking this way or that, though the familiar merchants tents, performers, and hawkers are not present in this area. Alvan points across the street to the right, indicating their target. The building is several stories, like all the others in this area, and most of the buildings are crowded together, touching in many cases. The ground floors are all stone construction, with wood timber construction being more prevalent the higher the buildings go. A pile of old timbers and crates are piled up in front of the main entrance to the bathhouse. OOC Please make sure your HP/FP match what I have in Character Status below. Not seeing any alleyway access immediately adjacent to the old bathhouse, she moves farthr afield. Emily keeps a close eye on her as she wanders down the street. There are a few people moving up and down the street, though no one seems to pay any mind to Fili, Emily, Richard, or Alvan, and only a few give passing notice to the three working at moving the pile of rubble. Beyond the second adjacent building, Fili spots a narrow alleyway that leads around back. She waves down to the others, indicating that she is going to take a look. Seeing her wave, Emily moves to follow. Richard and Alvan also take note of the direction the ladies are headed. Richard starts to follow, then stops when he sees a dark shape in a 2nd story window of the building directly next to the bathhouse. He notes that while there is a narrow gap between the two buildings at street level, the two buildings are touching at the 2nd floor and above. He subtly motions to Alvan to take a look, but dirty curtains flutter and the watcher is no longer there. OOC Fili has already gone down the alley, some 30 yards away from the door to the bathhouse. hakootoko Posted November 28, 2023 Clone Share Posted November 28, 2023 Fili Kober HP: 11/11 FP: 10/11 Conditions: Fili moves slowly and quietly down the alley with her staff in hand, keeping one eye out for signs of life, and the other for traps or other hazards she might stumble over. At least Emily knows where she went, and seems she might follow. Hopefully Harolde can get Richard moving, too, she thinks. I'll have to tell the constable about this street. They could fit some earthquake refugees in here. OOC: Your post looks fine now. I assume you want to roll my Stealth 13- and some kind of PER skill at 14- She's bound to be looking down at her feet and straight ahead rather than up, so is likely to miss someone above quietly looking down on her. As Harolde said, he keeps his eyes peeled, but also glances around the sky to see if Piddles is anywhere nearby. Leaning against the building, he attempts to remain casual, just in case there are further observers or ne'er-do-wells out and about. Action: Looking to keep my eyes and ears open; Perception 14. prophane Posted November 30, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted November 30, 2023 Location: Foreign Quarter, City and Domain of Greyhawk Date: Moonday, Third of Growfest (festival week) Time: around 4:30pm Weather: Moderate, 66°, partly cloudy, steady, light breeze from the northwest Sunrise/set: just before 6am/ just after 6pm Characters Present: Alvan, Emily, Fili, Hank, Harolde, Richard, Vidar Fili makes her way down the alley, it is not too narrow, she can almost touch the walls on both sides if she stretches her hands out. There is a good amount of trash and debris in the alley, and several times, before she is even halfway down the alley, she scares some large rats that go skittering away. She spies two doors, one on each side, near the far end of the alley. Emily, having now lost sight of Fili, speeds up, trying to get to the head of the alley before her friend makes a turn and she disappears. Richard and Alvan move toward the next-door building, Richard steps up and reaches for the handle and pulls on it. It is stuck or barred from the inside. Unlike the bathhouse next-door, this building has some windows in its front, including one full display window that juts at an angle out into the street. The windows are dirty and partially boarded up. The building appears to have been some sort of showroom or shop with a fancy display window out front. Hank, Vidar, and Harolde continue working on the pile of debris. Suddenly, Harolde lets out a sharp cry and pulls his hand away from the pile. A quiet hiss identifies the source of the sharp pain in his hand, a small, yellow-white snake is coiled in the debris pile. The Cleric of the Traveler holds his hand, which is already turning dark red, and winces. OOC Harolde, Vidar, and Hank are still near the front door debris pile. Harolde has been bitten by a poisonous snake. He takes 2HP damage to his hand and needs to roll vs HT-1 as he feels the poison coursing through his veins. @Rudolf Fili has moved farther down the alley, Emily cannot see her and moves closer to the mouth of the alley. Richard and Alvan have moved closer to the next-door building.
