The thug swings his cudgel at Fili and misses again. Over in the doorway, the robed man mumbles something again and manipulates his hands and arms in strange motions. Emily notices his exposed skin takes on a grey-ish, bumpy appearance, though Fili, occupied with the club-swinging thug in front of her, fails to notice this detail.

OOC

It is now time for the PCs to move again.

Vidar can continue running toward where Emily and Fili are. @Svartalf

Hank and Harolde can rush up the stairs. @taurelin @Rudolf

Fili and Emily can take their actions again. @hakootoko @Lamech

Richard and Alvan may continue exploring nextdoor. @cbenny @MrFuzzy

Might split the posts a third time once Harolde and Hank encounter something upstairs.

And just FYI, that door that is just past the stairs that Hank and Harlode are on, well that is on the ground floor, Fili and Emily saw that, it's NOT upstairs, the boys will need to get to the top to see what's up there!

Fill gives the thug a one-two strike with both ends of her staff, but the left end bounces off the corner of the wall instead of the thug's head. She jostles to keep herself between the thug and Emily, regardless of how he moves.

The thug attempts to parry but just barely fails to intercept Fili's strike. It hits him with a crunch. The thug winces in pain then narrows his eyes and glares at Fili. "Gonna give it to ya good fer that one, tiny!" he threatens.

GM NOTE: GM edited results directly into this post. Also @hakootoko it is 1FP PER STRIKE, so I deducted another FP from your total.

Gripping the handle of his sword, Hank charges up the stairs.

"Come on, Harolde! The others might need some help!"


Once he gets to the top of the stairs, Hank will realize that he is moving too fast for Harolde, and will wait for his friend to catch up.

Harolde hustles after Hank as best he can, given the numbness still flowing through his veins. Hopefully Hank wouldn’t leave him -too- far behind.

Hank rushes up the stairs, looking for a hidden spell-caster, with Harolde right on his heels. As Hank reaches the top of the staircase, he sees that the corridor continues for a few feet then makes a left. On his right, though, just at the end of the hallway, he sees a rough opening in the stone wall, possibly leading into the building next door. From his position, he cannot see through the opening nor see around the dim corner ahead, though he can tell that there is some light coming in from the left.

Up ahead, down a rubble-strewn hallway he sees an unknown man swinging a club at someone just out of sight around the far corner. A few paces behind the man, he sees another figure standing in a doorway. This figure is wearing monk-style robes, has his head shaved, and appears to be watching the fight. A dim light shines out from around the corner where the fight is happening. He sees the club wielding man take a step back, adopt a defensive stance and growl "Gonna give it to ya good fer that one, tiny!" He does not see Vidar approaching, though the robed man in the doorway does. He watches the monk's approach closely.

In the building next door, Richard and Alvan make it to the top of the stairs and see a long hallway running to the back of the building. There are two doors on the left-hand wall, the hallway makes a left turn at the end of the building, and some windows with ratty blankets hanging over them can be seen at the far end of the building, giving some illumination, though there are still considerable shadows.


OOC

The club wielding thug takes an All Out Defense this turn while the caster in the doorway watches Vidar closely (possibly an Evaluate)

It is the PCs turn to act again!

Vidar is 4y from the club wielding man and 7y away from the monkish looking fellow. Depending on if he has his backpack with him or not, he can reach one or both of them, though it would require a Move and Attack with a kick on the monk, since punching requires you to be IN THE SAME HEX as your opponent. @Svartalf

After that last strike hits home, Fili sees she has the thug on the defensive and presses him harder. She pounds the two ends of the staff into both sides of his body.

The thug, his mind on defense, manages to dodge both attacks.

image.png.c7dd0493bc4da40fb7563428c18e6d87.pngAs Alvan pushes the door open and jumps back, he hears an audible gasp and some movement from within the room, though he cannot see who is making the sound. The glimpse he has gotten of the room shows that it may be the living quarters or apartment for someone. It looks dirty and a bit run-down, but definitely lived in.

Richard, right behind Alvan, sees the same thing unless he wants to push on and enter the room.

Hank uses Stealth, going one hex a turn. This should let him be quieter, and let Harolde catch up.

image.png.8c1e6fafb082119dded7794855a6cd54.pngMoving slower at the top of the stairs, Hank slinks forward slowly, Harold right behind him. The hulking blonde reaches the corner of the hallway and peeks around. Light from some partially boarded up windows reveals a long stone corridor with numerous stone alcoves along the right side, and an opening that looks down into the main area of the first floor bathhouse on the left. Glancing the other way, to the rough opening in the stone wall reveals a slight gap and another rough opening that clearly leads into the second floor of the building next door, the building that Richard and Alvan went to explore, though it is quite dark and quiet in that direction.

image.png.2ebefb5ec69af386fea97b37be5c9c99.pngOver in the other building, Richard steps into the room and finds it to be occupied. A frightened shriek followed by a trembling voice shouting "Get out! Get out, we don't want any trouble!" Richard sees that the voices are coming from a very scared mother crouching in the corner of the small apartment with her two young children gripping tightly to her sides. She wields a blackened cooking pot over her head like a club, though Richard doubts that she is prepared to use it on him. A quick look does not reveal any other exits from this room. A quick calculation in his head says that this room is not as wide as the building and there are no visible windows, though a few holes in the room do reveal some daylight from above.

At the far end of the alcove-lined hallway, he sees a once-grand set of stone stairs leading down to the main bath area below. A dark alcove under the stairs might lead to a storage area or doorway. A large, mostly empty pool fills most of the floor. The stones and tiles that once lined this space are all broken and jumbled at the bottom. Several spots of dark, fetid water are still present. A dark crevice can be seen at along on side of the bottom of the pool. It looks to be big enough to climb through possibly.

Harolde is still feeling the effects of the poison from the snake earlier. His veins and joints feel so thick and he is slowed down.
