Fili checks the pile of debris at the other end of the tunnel, and feeling they are solid enough, steps over, motioning for her companions to join her. Hank eagerly follows as does Richard, though much more carefully. As Emily is beginning to step over, there is a grating sound of stone grinding against stone, and the entire pile of rubble shifts and moves. Rising up from the water and stones is a large, stone snake with glowing yellow eyes and curl of purple on the top of its blackish-blue head. A swirling orange energy is visible from the serpent's open mouth. It slithers out of the pile of stones and curls up in the middle of the passageway, over 6 feet tall, making the entire snake at least 20' long! It sways and keeps one eye on the groups on either side of it. It sways back and forth and appears ready to attack. OOC It's a horrible guardian as it let half of you pass first and seems slow in attacking, but believe me, it is going to attack! If you get your posts in FIRST, though, you can attack first! It is a SM 1, and while coiled it can't move as much but is more able to watch and defend against a wider area. It looks like it's flesh is made of stone! The stone snake guardian manages to avoid Fili's strike but Hank and Emily both find their mark. The tip of Hank's sword seems to only barely penetrate the snakes stony exterior though Emily's bolt seems to work just fine. OOC @MrFuzzy @cbenny whatcha doing? @Rudolf what is Harolde's Wait condition? @hakootoko DID Fili use a Mighty Blow? The stone serpent sways and twists out of the way and the tip of Harolde's staff splashes into the dark water. Seeing the cleric over-extend himself on his attack, the snake uncoils and strikes, snapping it's fanged jaws at Harolde but finding only air. OOC it's the PCs turn again! Instead, though, Fili mishandles the weapon, nearly losing her grip on it. OOC: Attack 13-. Taking All-Out Attack (Strong) without spending a fatigue point. GM NOTE: Critical Miss. The weapon turns in your hand. You must take an extra Ready maneuver before you can use it again.
