Essentially so far the party has arrived from different places in order to attend the funeral of their dear friend/mentor/teacher Professor Petros Lorrimor who at one point studied extensively into defense against dark magic. So far they're at the funeral after being stopped at the Dreamwake by a mob led by a man known as Gibbs Hephenus who accused the Professor of being a Necromancer. You can have your character arrive late into the funeral and the party will most likely catch you up through conversation.
