We're looking for a silly rich human that got stolen, I think! Could you help us find it?". However, on seeing one of the Fey stab best friend Rasan, Morrigan's face grows cold. "You shouldn't have done that." They fly over to get a clean shot at the Fey and let a cone of flames burst from their hands. As the fire clears, the tips of Morrigan's hair is left singed.

Willow casts a ray of frost that splashes harmlessly off one of the fey.

Dannock's charge easily kills the fey before him. Kaine and Keanu both connect, Kaine doing less damage than he expected. Neither of these foes are dropped. However, they are both caught in Morrigan's cone of fire, which kills the foe before Kaine.

 

The remaining fey screams Something in SylvanFire! no. Bad. Naughty fire. and my friends. No. Izoze and Teb will make you pay. Naughty people. and withdraws, moving 120' into the deeper woods and leaving the groups sight.

"What the hell where those," Rasan asked as she looked closer to where she felt the sting, "and who the hell are Izoze and Teb? That's what the one that left shouted. Izoze and Teb will make you pay. So I guess there will be more fey or similar critters upcoming."

She went closer to the fey that had been taken out and had a look at the bodies for anything unusual or useful. She doubted the latter but one could never know.

"I doubt we could safely give chase.." Kaine ponders out loud. He looks at his rapier with a befuddled expression. He Regrets not trying to find some alternative to regular steel to better battle such foes.

"Izoze and Teb eh, it is good to have a few names at least."

Kaine comes along Rasan as she checks herself over. "Are you wounded? Is there pain or numbness" he ask her. "Anyone know what these things are err.. were?"

Mor-Rioghain recognizes the fey that attacked them as winter touched sprites. None of their equipment is large enough for any of the group to use (diminuative shortbows, arrows and shortswords).

Keanu was not entirely satisfied that the one fey creature had essentially managed to get away, but given the circumstances, with his sisters and a large-ish party of inexperienced adventurers in tow, he wasn't going to go pursue fleeing prey for the kill. Wounded and unlikely to return will just have to do.

 

Left to their own once again, Keanu began looking around him once more to see if they had lost the tracks or whether there were any more clues to be had.

Please post 'we've been out in the cold for about an hour now' fort saves with your next post

The group proceeds down the still very clear and easy to follow trail. After about a mile they come to a place where a narrow game trail winds its way through the trees and undergrowth. Hoofprints mark the underlying snow, leading in both directions. A stag steps out from the trail and says. "Hello. Weird weather we are having. Do you all know anything about it."

The approach of the stag was a novel thing. Kaine had has never personally seen such a specimen. Then it started talking. He knows from is training that some can speak with beast the same as they could with other people through their own talents or magical means. But how could he understand the stag?

"I think the cold might of froze my mind.. is it talking? "

"It sure looks that way," Rasan said, quite surprised. She looked around just in case it was an ambush or if anything was having a prank with them, before answering. But the cold made her a bit less observant.

"I don't think we do. I don't in any case, although I agree that it is frekkin' cold. We're following the tracks of some people who have taken a woman. Do you perchance know anything about that?"

Taken aback by the talking stag, Keanu blinked, and then again in a kind of a double take, trying to figure out what he's actually seeing and perhaps recall whether he's seen or heard of anything like this before.

 

Looking back at his two sisters, he wondered if they had any knowledge about this creature.

The stag looks at the group then nods in the general direction of the trail they are following. "Looks like they went thatta way. Have fun." It turns to trot off into the woods.

"Someone was pulling a prank on us, you know," she said to the others when they were out of range of the location, "Can we move a bit faster, it's fracking cold here. Maybe a bit of movement will warm us up."
