  6. I think Gary has irritated Silver a little. That is, more or less, how she sees it, though.
  7. Silver again nods along at each of her Pilots' answers, then gave a moment, before appearing to look (as best as you can tell on the wrong side of mirrorshades) at Gary from the The Herald. Silver spoke in a calm, cool voice; whether she was just that controlled or just didn't want to be here was still up to the observer's interpretation. "Gary, everyone needs to understand a few things. First off, NERV is fighting things that are best comparable to psionic kaiju hybridized with weaponized eldritch abominations. That means that, even if we do everything correct, there are going to be casualties. Simple fact. We're fighting on scales and with weaponry that skips straight past 'how much collateral damage' and straight to 'we lose there is no more city'. Thus, NERV doesn't focus on things such as collateral damage, no matter how much that pains us as humans, but instead on killing the target as fast and expeditiously as possible. We exist to fight the enemy, the Entities, by any means necessary. And that is because if we don't, they'll kill all of you. Second, due to the vagaries of Evangelions, whatever name their manufacturing body may call them, they require teenage Pilots falling within certain parameters that I'm not at liberty to discuss. That means, as much as it pains me, I, a professional volunteer soldier, am commanding child soldiers. This means that what happens out there on the battlefield ultimately lies with me. Anyone has issues with what happens in a NERV-London Evangelion action, let them blame me, not my Pilots. As for this recently past action, they actually did damn well for a scratch team thrown together on no notice and no prior practice. I understand that there was damage and casualties, but we're in a war for the very existence of Humanity. There's going to be casualties. Three, I, despite how I may sound, am not blase about the civilian cost. I have had to sign off on several reviews and After Action Reports that detailed, in great exactitude, the exact damages and known casualties. I cannot be bogged down by them, and especially neither can my Pilots, however, as that would render them combat ineffective, and then everyone in London dies. Fourth, my Pilots have made some good points. My Team Leader has excellent points that you, Gary, and all of you here from the Press are in a position to address in a way that my Pilots, myself, our PR Staff, and NERV itself simply are not. It should be noted, the human casualties from the last attack were frequently a result of reduced warning times due to the tactical surprise of the attack; the property damage is just a cost of living in London these days, as is it near any NERV Base. Finally, I'm not about to lie to you and the awareness of all the people that you all represent as members of the Press, so I'm going to tell you a simple truth. Future conflicts are future conflicts. They could end up being cakewalks with better results, they could be near-disasters with far worse results, combat is not something that is simple. That is why training for it, even in the basic positions, is a complex duty for truly competent soldiers, and to command soldiers is another layer of complexity or five on top. Combat has so many factors that nothing can predict how an engagement will go until it happens. There were at least four or five points that could have gone better...and almost double that that could have gone worse...in our last engagement. Accept that war sucks, and wars for existential survival are a numbers game, in which if most of your species is still alive at the end and your habitat is still habitable, you win. So, Gary, understand that we're doing our best, which will only get better, and that war is random, no plan survives contact with the enemy, and collateral is unavoidable. Deploying an Evangelion causes infrastructure damage that has to be repaired, let alone the hell that comes about when you have conflicting AT Fields, Entities and Evangelions in a scrum with close combat weapons, and fully-automatic weapons firing Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding-Sabot High Explosive cruiser rounds. All of which is necessary for us to be here complaining about collateral damage, which, while I understand, my answer has to be, it's either 'some busted-up real estate' or 'no more London'. Clear?" And with that, Silver nods to Paul. Captain Serena Silver Wounds: 13/13 Ego Barrier: 35/35 Fate Points: 3/3 Fatigue: 0 Insanity Points: 0
  8. I like the fallout lore more than i've played the games. I've played maybe two through to completion, but the system seems pretty good. As i'm not american, the actual location means a lot less to me but the big sky country sounds fun fro the survival/settlement stuff. For me, where a Fallout game is set isn't particularly interesting to me, it's all irradiated wasteland anyway. That said I'm most interested in the Gulf Coast simply because it's something we haven't seen yet in existing media. My interest in the five pillars are as follows: 1 - Settlement Building/Management 2 - Survival/Exploration 3 - Combat/Aggressive Negotiations 4 - Crafting/Scavenging 5 - Faction Conflict/Relationships
  9. How does everyone want to approach the aftermath. You got police coming, dead mercenaries, a dead civilian, one captive mercenary and the initial victim, status unknown. Also, there is the issue of whether you try to approach the people you came here to talk to.
  10. ah, but that's such a cool combo - it's my favorite of the bunch; and with the stats i rolled, pretty easy to do any of them, i think - cause Blood Priest is considered a Mage? Maybe a Duelist/Mageslayer as per house rules?? would it fit the scenario though?
  11. Fighter, ranger, barbarian all work very well in the setting, we so need a line of warrior. The place is dangerous.
  12. Sounds fun to play, but will come with different kind of challenges. They would be an automatic enemy of the other elvish races. Most non-elf won't recognize the different between a dread elf and the others. Lizardfolk are a territorial enemy but if they behave, they can work together. However in the application process will have to explain me why they left their homelands (banishment?), are a migrant to a large city with a lot of humans (what they hope to find?) and if they can function in a group with the other PCs. A neutral character instead of evil would be easier to incorporate. But Camrina is a real goddess and can help the party a lot if they accept her ways haha but i wonder how it would work with good members in the party. :) she is evil, but have all kind of followers, many follow her just out of fear. She is very powerful since there so many dark things in the world worshipping her.
  13. Blueblood is a pirate ... there's crew and non crew ... both you need to watch out for. She knows full well you need to establish yourself as Captain and a ship to have crew... then they can mutiny... which would require a duel, and a whipping ! nothing delusional about that... ... A firearm would be cool ... a ranged weapon for ms. Blueblood.
  14. Jade laid on the floor, lightly nauseous, and keeping her eyes closed to deal with the discomfort. The ordeals of the past few weeks were behind her, but the aftereffects were things she was going to have to cope with for some time. While lying there though she felt two spots in her hair get poked, followed by another set and another. She rolled her eyes, tilting her head back to spot her two fairies continuing to poke her. "Alright alright. Let me up you two." She sits up, deciding her place on the floor was adequate for the time being and examines the...rather spartan...accomodations. Geez, this was going to be the equivalent of eternal latrine duty. She took in her two new coworkers, finding them decent enough for the moment, and then examining their pokemon in turn. Sighing at the situation though she stood. "Just call me Jade, seems like we're going to be the main conversation sources for the next while," she points out. "These miscreants are Kera and Elpis, my Ralts and Togepi." At that the two in question present themselves in front of her, eyeing up the place and people.
  15. Keep in mind, if you rolled stats you can bump that 6 dex or 7 wis to 14 🎃
  16. You can level up now and you get free archetype feats yes
  17. Will look into the latest questions during the weekend. Take care
  18. I'm not saying the party is Blueblood's crew. What I'm saying is she seems to think so. She's propably more than a little delusional, right? I'd allow a firearm, but they're hardly different from magic items: Needs some special care to procure one. Also, they're made by dwarves - which reminds me, where was that mission Kelia had? Crag'yr Kholon. Oh, about firearms? I wouldn't want to leave you with the impression that you can go out and buy something you found in a book. If you want to go to a drow city, all you need to do is ask directions. However, I'd point out that in the underdark, it's all rivers - if you want to sail. That's a bit 1-dimensional.
  19. I think she just needs someone to speak to her. She'll probably be upset, but will calm down because she knows there is little she can do to catch them. Also, her rage and bloodlust is very pointed, it is not all encompassing or blinding. Not to say that collateral isn't a thing, but she wouldn't lash out at innocent individuals just because she no longer has a target.
  20. Black Hill Caves — Curved Corridor / Observation Lounge As the group begins to move into the room, T'Sarra once again reminds the rest in no uncertain terms, "Don't touch anything!" "Big chinned one, look over there." The android speaks up as she points out the drawings and other foreign-looking chicken scratch on the far wall of the room, having given a rest to her beeps and boops a short moment ago. "Those drawings seem to bear a vague resemblance to the holy symbol thing you got yesterday." Barhuce, T'Sarra and Vri Only Now that Violet had mentioned it, you do seem to draw a certain similitude to the unholy symbol recovered the other day, from the unidentified, half-eaten male corpse that was bobbing along the bank of the underground river near the blindheim. Except, these sketches seem crude and somehow off, as though they were created by someone who had never actually seen the actual thing before. The western wall, while bearing none of the distinct features of a window, in the sense that it looks to even lack a proper frame, seems to simply provide a view for you to look out into the desert valley beyond. There's a stone wall to each side, the northern one seems to curve away after about forty or so feet, whereas the one on the southern end looks to end in some kind of sandbar that continues for perhaps approximately a hundred feet. (( Those interested in the images and phrases on the wall please roll Knowledge (Religion). ))
  21. I know it's a probably not, but are we using LA buyoff with this? It's not a big deal if we don't but I'm creating a set of characters with a +1 LA.
